I do not post reviews as a matter of course but in some cases I make exceptions and this is one of those. I came to SmileCentric for full Zirconium arches/implants via the D5 program. Dr. Louis and staff took great care of me through the process and I was able to function normally dental-wise for what seemed like the first time since I had initially gotten dentures over a decade prior. Then, I had issues with the upper arch which ultimately broke. In an ideal world the D5 teeth warranty would have covered this issue, however, D5 had already gone defunct, so no warranty. None of this was Dr. Louis's fault or responsibility and yet he stepped up and made it his responsibility to get me a new arch. This was no small, insignificant, or inexpensive undertaking on his part. Almost everyone who provides a service for a fee is great when things are going according to plan, you see the true character of a business manifested in the reaction they develop as a response when the wheels fall off the bus and you could not ask for a more "above and beyond" level than SmileCentric.

I LOVE this place! I had dental trauma as a child and have had some type of composite or crown on my top two front teeth since. At 49 years old one of the root canals became infected but with no apparent symptoms at first. By the time the pain started I had a bullet hole sized defect in my bone from the infection. I met with other specialists who wanted to extract then wait then do bone graft and wait more while having me wear a temporary flipper retainer tooth until the graft was healed enough for a post and crown (up to a year). I’m so glad my husband was a patient of Dr. Luis and convinced me to consult with him. He was able to safely and successfully extract tooth, place implant do bone graft and a fixed temporary crown all in one appointment. Having a fixed tooth was very important to me and he was able to give me that. After the bone graft fully healed and we worked on a cosmetic restoration plan together I now have the most beautiful smile. After struggling with disappointing cosmetic outcomes from my dental work for over 40 years I can finally put that all behind me and smile with confidence! I would highly recommend this office and Dr Luis for implants, crowns and cosmetic dentistry. My husband is also very satisfied with his implants and the care he received at Smilecentric. The clinical staff are kind compassionate and knowledgeable and the clerical staff are organized and helpful. I love that they send reminder texts and paperwork. Danger, do not go here. I had a crown completed here and it went very bad. I am 60, lots of dental work over the years, this is the worst place I have ever experienced. I rarely complain if you read my other reviews. I had more pain then I have experienced with other crowns. My crown did not fit properly. When I asked them to make another crown, they were very rude. When I went back to show them how crown was hitting the tooth above, they were fighting with another customer about their own bad review. Do not go to this place. If you read their own replies to bad reviews, you get a since of how bad these folks are

This dental office is unprofessional and disorganized. About six months ago, my appointment felt rushed and careless. I experienced pain, water kept spilling on my face, and my treatment was not done properly. When I asked about teeth whitening, I was given excuses and pressured to do other treatments or come back another time. Most recently, my husband was told his procedure was covered by insurance, given local anesthesia, and only afterward was told it wasn’t covered and asked to pay thousands of dollars. Staff gave conflicting information and delayed his care. Overall, there are serious issues with patient care, communication, and billing. I do not recommend this clinic.

Starting with the staff who are incredibly friendly, to Dr. Abukhalaf they did an incredible job of easing my apprehensions. They used a robot controlled thing-a-majig, that precisely guided the surgery, but the most impressive fact was how well the Doctor, his assistant,and the robot worked so precisely and efficiently together (yes I was awake). When finished, everything was exactly where it needed to be without any adjustments needed! Obviously, there was some discomfort the day of the surgery, but the next morning I woke up with NO PAIN, and haven't had a moment of pain or discomfort since. I am so happy that I chose Smilecentric for my procedure,and would highly recommend anyone else that needs this type of work done to give these professionals a visit! You won't be sorry!

I highly recommend this Dental Practice. I decided to have elective upper and lower dental implants placed. I was so scared to part with my own teeth. The office personnel are very professional, prompt at returning messages and scheduling was super easy. The initial consultation was super informative and the procedure from start to finish was explained. This put me at ease. Today, I went for my last appointment. I love my smile!! I love my teeth!! My experience with this dentist office was disappointing. Despite agreeing on a price upfront, they overcharged my mother. Even after two years, they sent an unexpected bill demanding more money. When we confronted them, they denied any knowledge of the overcharge, promising to correct the mistake. However, the following month, we received a bill from collectors. This lack of transparency and accountability is concerning. Absolutely disgusted by the lack of integrity at this dental office. My mom went in two years ago to have two moles removed, and the dentist agreed to a cash deal of $900. Fast forward to now, we receive a bill for an additional $2000! Not only did he fail to disclose these extra charges upfront, but he also didn't even perform the supposed additional procedures. It's nothing short of a scam. Stay far away from this place unless you enjoy being taken advantage of.

I am writing this review to express my gratitude and appreciation for Dr. Louis Abukhalaf, DDS. I have been seeing him as my dentist for about 3 years. I simply adore this man and trust him implicitly with everything he has done. He is compassionate, sensitive toward needs and concerns, he is an excellent listener, and also a witty and intelligent conversationalist. I have come to respect this man with every fiber of my being, professionally. Let me state, I am NOT an easy person to please medically being a retired Forensic Psych Nurse for the State of California, my standards and expectations are high and I can without reservation attest, Dr. Louis as well as, his entire team from front off, to back office, and his technicians and assists are highly qualified, experienced professionals. Dr. Louis is someone I consider to be a friend on a professional level and quite honestly, I have a lot of love for him and his practice. He has been honest, fair of price and services, I have NEVER had him up sale me, and today while assessing for a much needed bridge, he could have extracted a tooth, but he didn’t. He saved the tooth and has fit me for a bridge that will look stunning without the trauma of a removal and having a gap of two teeth while waiting for the bridge from the lab, I only have one and that is covered by my partial for now. Additionally, I am needle and pain phobic so I paid out of pocket for a little nitro gas and it wasn’t needed so I said let’s credit it. Jamie in front office said, I can put it back on your card, it’s not a problem (I didn’t want to make it difficult for them to reviewed but she said it’s not a problem at all). Dr. Louis saved my tooth, thus took off almost $1200 from insurance billing. This is an honest man that I trust without reservation and will go out of his way to make you the patient the winner due to his professional opinions and judgement. He could just as easily done the work, billed my insurance and billed leaving me meeting my maximum before March and having 9 months without billable insurance. To even suggest asking for a discount or reduced price is never necessary and I am not that person nor do I have to be. Dr. Louis lays out a treatment plan and being a nurse I know the cost or at least the ballpark. He is always on the side of affordability, but more that money, he wants his services to be exceptional. Like an artist, it’s his work, his brand he is placing in your mouth to give you confidence, self-esteem, and a beautiful smile and set of teeth, that his work and his passion. I love this man as my dentist, and for me to gush like this isn’t something you can expect from me, so when I write a review and comment like I have, take me at my word, he is a 10 out of 10 and I recommend him to anyone I speak to needing a phenomenal dentist. My team is Dr. Louis and Danielle. She is the absolute best in what she does and her color match for my partial and bridge have been spot on perfect. I woke up this morning needing a miracle and Dr. Louis made that miracle happen! I went to bed in excruciating pain but having started a new job on Monday, I knew that I couldn't miss work today. I agonized at the thought of working all day in pain. I felt hopeless that a dental office would take a brand new patient first thing in the morning, get me out of pain, and get me to work on time... but SmileCentric did just that. The office was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I truly mean that! I would give them a million stars if I could! The receptionists were so kind and helpful... the dental assistant was incredibly comforting and supportive of getting me to work on time... and Dr. Louis performed a root canal that got me completely out of pain and to my new job with time to spare. The root canal was thorough, comfortable, and I feel so muuuuuuuuch better! I live in Chicago and traveled 3.5+ hours to have my implant procedure done at SmileCentric. After my experience I would have traveled 10 hours if needed. My case was a complex and serious one with two missing teeth and two others needing to be extracted and replaced with temporaries in a short amount of time. I am a new customer and man did they make me feel like I was special. Not only did I get new toothpaste and a tooth brush but the dentist is so funny! He has a amazing personality and not up tight like most dentist. The girls in the front (guessing their cashiers) took their time to explain what I needed next and how much it cost and they were so nice. I wish I knew their names but shoutout to them! Something cool: he hires people in college who are doing internships and they are just as good as him! Everyone is friendly, service is fast and the place is high tech! One thing of advice though, if your getting a fill in, take some pain medication before and after, my mouth was so sore! I should have asked about it before leaving but I had numbing medicine and it didn't hurt until it wore off. Otherwise, the work they did is AMAZING! They even sent me a thank you card. Update (December 2022) : unfortunately, I had to change it from five stars to four stars because I had two insurance companies that I am insured under and they claimed I owed them balance which I shouldn’t owe any balance because I have the most expensive and best insurance. well, that’s because they only billed one insurance company and they said they billed both of them, but when I contacted my insurance, only one of them told me that they billed them. Also, one of my fill in’s that they did ended up chipping and another one of my fill in’s, the tooth ended up breaking. I called and told them about this and they were more worried about getting the money that they didn’t properly bill. Also, I had left multiple voicemails to reschedule my appointment and no one had called me back and they try to charge me a high no-show fee , luckily, I had screenshot at the times that I had tried to call. Also, they said that the tooth that broke needed a root canal. well, why did I end up paying for a fill in when I could have just save my money up or insurance for the root canal? A little disappointing. I hope they make up for this because I really enjoyed this place.

During Covid, I lost my job and my husband was furloughed from his. After 30 years of working, we found ourselves applying for unemployment for the first time in our lives, and reliant on Medicaid. Our family dentist would not lower his prices as a one time courtesy for all the years of our being faithful customers, and he would not accept Anthem via Medicaid. We reluctantly had to make a change in providers. The first dentist we chose was incompetent: did a procedure on my husband incorrectly resulting in a lot of pain. Dr. Louis Abukhalaf accepted our insurance, fixed my husband's problem (root canal), and removed my son's 4 wisdom teeth (so expertly that his recovery was amazingly easy and fast). The SmileCentric team did our regular cleanings and were angels! The front office staff was more than accommodating; they were professional, understanding, knowledgeable, expedient, friendly and genuinely nice! We loved that all the equipment & processes in SmileCentric's office was (is)top of the line, state-of-the-art technology, and each staff member is warm and cordial and really caring towards all patients. Now that my husband and I are both back at work and on private insurance through our employers, we will not be going back to our former dentist. Dr. Louis and his team have made it impossible! Dr Louis is well trained and produces amazing results. I have trust issues with dentists but heard of him thru fellow coworkers that said he's good at what he does .... I came to his office with severe pain on the lower right side of my jaw, he took one look at it and recomended a root canal. I came back for the root canal-- after a couple of weeks of antibiotics thinking it was going to be painful and preparing myself for it... but I felt no pain during the procedure and was finished before I knew it. An over 70 patient that wanted an artistic, long lasting implant procedure. Surprisingly, I was able to have 5 instead of just 2 uppers. Dr. 'Lou' is not only competent from a technical standpoint but from an artistic one as well. Since getting my implants have also gone back for routine gum and tooth cleanings. Staff is great. I am terrified of going to the dentist! They really made me feel so comfortable and that it was going to be ok. Very nice office, soothing to be in like a spa. Savannah at the front desk was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. They are very thorough and use fancy software to get you checked in. Amanda led me back to take my xrays, she fully understood how scared I was. She made me feel so comfortable right off the bat. Dr. Abukhalaf was great, very personable and funny. They use the latest technology in their office, stuff I have never seen or heard of. Overall it was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist, and I’m someone who goes every 6 months.

Take care of your mouth and set your worries aside!!! This dentist is by far the BEST dentist I've been to! I struggle with being claustrophobic and have anxiety and for the first time was comfortable sitting in a dental chair and being worked on. I had a procedure at Smilecentric this week. For one, I am a baby when it comes to going to the dentist. Second, I was having an implant done on my front tooth. Not a small ordeal if you ask any dentist. I can say that I was beyond nervous days leading up to the appointment. There was just not assuring me everything would be okay. Granted, I have had 2 implants done before but it doesn't change the fear factor. The day of the procedure I was greeted by the amazing staff at Smilecentric. Not only was I treated like a family member they never once rushed into anything. They clearly explained again everything they were going to do. No step was performed until they knew I was 100% comfortable and aware of what was taking place. On many occasions they joked around to make me laugh. The end result was incredible. Not only did the procedure go perfect, I didn't have to have a temporary denture. The staff was able to give me a temporary crown which is close to having a real tooth as possible. The team fixed a crooked tooth with a huge gap in the front to a perfect smile. In addition, if you've ever had an implant before, you know it's sore, tender, and painful for a few days after. I have no idea how, but I was at the mall that afternoon shopping. I only took the pain meds for that day just in case. Day 2, zero pain. Today is day 3 and again, NO PAIN. I cannot thank and support the staff at Smilecentric. I cannot recommend them enough for doing such an incredible job and being so friendly. Lastly, their office layout and design is beautiful. Even little details such as the paint colors and furniture made a difference. If you need dental work and want a pain free experience by a friendly staff, Smilecentric is your place!

I see Dr. Abukhalaf in the South office. He is the best dentist I have ever had! General dentistry is a piece of cake for him. But major dentistry is also a piece of cake for him! He did some extended work where my jaw was at risk. He new the steps to take to save it. It could have been a very bad outcome if someone else has done it with a different approach. He has done two implants for me, and I had so little pain I did not even have to take Tylenol. In the past, I had 6 implants done by dental surgeons, and every one of them were very painful to where even pain pills did not relieve them! I don't know what it is Dr. Abukhalaf does differently, but it works! No pain and very nice outcome. I am glad I found him. Thanks, Doc!

Decorations and wall colors are very calming. The assistant was also very funny and easy to talk to! OH. Best part is that they have a text phone line where you can ask quick questions during and after hours instead of calling in.
