Riverwalk Dental Arts This is such a beautiful place. Dental offices get a ton of bad reputations for atmosphere and smell.. this place is beautiful and the staff are so wonderful. As soon as you walk through the doors, you can tell that it isn’t your typical dental office. There is a beautiful smell and the decor is ripped right out of architectural digest. I brought my family there for the first time. My daughter is 2 and it was her first visit to a dentist and they were so patient with her and Dr. Reji was so pleasant. My daughter took to her quickly and even let her see into her mouth to count teeth with her. She really enjoyed her visit. They even gave her a trip to the treasure chest after the visit. I came back the next day for my own appt with my newborn in tow. They were so kind just like the day prior and helped me sit my newborn on the chair in the corner. When I was under the light during my cleaning, the baby woke up and was crying. I intended to grab her once there was a good moment, which is what was discussed mid-cleaning, but out of nowhere like Mary Poppins, came Jess, the baby whisperer. She was so kind and was rubbing her hand together after having just sanitized, as she informed me. She asked if she could give the baby her pacifier, which had fallen out of her mouth, and the ln she rocked the baby back to sleep in the carrier. She was amazing! I know this may seem like a small thing to some, but this is exactly one of those moments when I was grateful to be in a woman owner/run facility. The level of keen observation and understanding for a new mom from another woman was such a touching experience. Dr. Reji is kind and patient. She’s exceptionally knowledgeable as proven through her discussion of process and procedure during the visit and throughout. I can always appreciate talking through steps as a manager who teaches others about processes. I’m so grateful to have stumbled upon Dr. Reno’s office and I’ve already recommended her to my friend and family. I can’t express how elated I am and I pray her business continues to thrive. UPDATE: there’s a new doctor! Dr. Shah and now I’m able to get my implant done in house! He’s awesome and kind like everyone else there and I am so excited to have found a dentals office I love.

Upon arriving at the front desk , the assistant told me to get anything I wanted out of a gift basket of chewing gum , little bottles of mouthwash and tic tacs . I took a box of gum. The receptionist told me I had to leave a review too. I stated as soon as I arrive home I will leave a review. I was then told that I could not have the box of gum and I had to put it back !!! I placed the gum back and walked out! Now I’m writing a review . The receptionist needs to go back to charm school. I should not have to be bribed with gum to write a review. I’ve also had problems with shady billing and out of pocket expenses that are exorbitant . I’m looking now for a dental practice.

Superior customer service. Dr. Reji and her staff function well above her competition. I have worked in a customer service environment for over 30 years. I have never seen the level of customer service provided by Dr. Reji. She is unbelievable. My teeth would have been far better if I’d met her earlier. It’s simple, keep doing what you’ve been doing and make your dentist rich; or listen to Dr.Reji and have the best teeth possible. Dr. Reji wants the best outcome for you, regardless of what puts the most money in her pocket. It is so nice to visit a dentist with your best interest in mind. I come from a family with lots of bad teeth, hate the dentist and have anxiety and don't go often, but I went to get 2 teeth extracted. It took 3 long hours but they were so sweet, and helped me feel comfortable the whole time. Barely felt the shots which are usually very painful and leave my gums sore. No gum pain today. They are gentle and talk you through everything. I am no stranger to teeth extractions and this was the best experience at a dentist for sure. Highly recommend! So glad I found this office. Update- I called the office twice about this. No one ever contacted me and instead sent me a letter discharging me from their practice. Be forewarned. I had to cancel an appointment on a Monday morning for a Monday afternoon appointment because I had a migraine. This office charged me a $100 fee (that I was not informed of until the day of said appointment) because I canceled less that 24 hours before. Last time I checked there is no way to foresee a migraine- let alone 3 days prior because they’re closed on Sundays. I was told because of this circumstance (and it was my first time canceling on the same day) the doctor would waive it. Yet today I received a bill in the mail for said $100. I am a local physician in the area and not only will I never go back to this office I will tell every patient to avoid this place.

This office has been having issues with their billing department, as a result decided to place a bill for $100 on my credit report from 2019. I have been in the office several times since this supposed bill and made several payments but this payment never was mentioned. I stopped being seen at this office in 2021 and have not received any correspondence about a bill but they do call to schedule my next visit and I tell them I’m being seen by another dentist. Still no mentions of an outstanding balance. I look on my credit report and they have put a judgement out against me. This is ridiculous. Definitely contacting legal representation. This office has had billing problems for years, their own staff was the one who made me aware of the issues. Check your bills if you decide to use them for your dental care.

Terrible. This is the only google review I have ever written. I signed up for Invisalign and chose to pay the full amount up front. Mistake. After doing the initial teeth scans, the Invasalign specialist takes a few weeks to adjust your smile for the best outcome leveraging the Invisalign program. Then before sending out for trays, they bring you in to go over the results. When I came in for my appointment it was clear they were not ready and had not called me to re-schedule. I had to come back another time. One wasted appointment Once we had the smile set, they send out for the trays and scheduled my next appointment to have them put in my mouth. When I arrive, the trays have not yet arrived, and therefore they can do nothing for me. Again, they failed to call me in advance to re-schedule. In fact, they called and texted in advance to confirm my appointment. Ha. Two wasted appointments. My re-schedule goes smoothly, and we get the Invisalign installed. A follow up appointment is scheduled for 8 weeks out to get the next set of trays. When I arrive, they tell me that this step requires "IPR". AKA my teeth to be filed to make the appropriate space. They follow by saying that Invisalign specialist on hand is unequipped to do that, and the Dentist that can do the IPR is not there that day. The schedule for when IPR is required is know from the first day of the treatment plan, so this should not have been a surprise. The Invisalign specialist was so ashamed that she hid in the back and had the front desk clerk tell me about the need to re-schedule. Then they could not find a slot in the appropriate timeframe and forced me to go to a different dental office farther away, wasting more of my time. Three wasted appointments and a lot of excess driving. Icing on the cake, the dentist sold the practice halfway through my Invisalign treatment, and they can no longer provide the service. The office refuses to issue me a refund. Insurance paid them $1400. I paid them $3300, but they have left me with an incomplete job, and refused to re-imburse me. If I could give negative stars I would.

My experience was terrible, because I didn't get the tooth pulled or repaired and no kind of medication for the pain I was experiencing. They took a x-ray of my mouth. But come to find out that they couldn't help me due to no dentist was there. I tooka day off from work to get this done. And here its Saturday morning and I still in pain with this bad tooth. No call no nothing. All I know they better not charge my insurance for service that I never received.

I give 5 stars based off staff due to friendliness, professionalism, and the ability to get an appointment for an emergency. However, there was a disconnect with new dentist. Smart and friendly, but no clue how to direct that energy. tapped my tooth, several actually, asking how it felt. It felt like you were tapping my teeth, not sure how to answer. She is going to be great, though, mark my words. But her willingness to extract, without question, as a way to compensate for lack of funds and resources should be questioned. I refused an extraction as an option, despite the condition of my tooth. Sent emails to dentists for estimates with info I got today and already one said I did the right thing thing by refusing extraction as that molar is important and that attempts need to be done to save it. At least go and for the staff interaction.edit- had a needle shoved in my face, got scolded for throwing my hands up to protect having a needle shoved in my face without warning. So, here we are at 11:44pm and my daughter woke up complaining about a funny feeling in her tooth. Well, apparently when she brushed/flossed her teeth earlier before bed she must have lost her new filling that she got two days ago because my husband saw it in the sink. While the staff is incredibly nice I am distraught right at this moment because I have been calling the office with no sort of emergency line or anything. It would be nice for you to have some sort of answering service for patient emergencies. I had to google what to do about this filling that obviously didn’t stick when put in on Thursday and what if anything my daughter could take for potential pain relievers. My previous dentist always had a answering service and would sometimes call you to ensure you all would be well or to instruct you in the interim. I’m pretty upset that there is no instruction for the next 30+ hrs. And I’m more upset that it fell out period.

I had a filling done at my dentist on Monday. On Wednesday I called my dentist to tell them I have been in excruciating pain ever since the procedure. They did not see me and instead sent out prescriptions for an antibiotic and pain meds letting me know that they were closing Thursday through Tuesday for the Memorial Day holiday and to call the emergency line if I was still in pain by Friday. The meds did not help one bit so Friday morning I called the emergency number and 2 hours later, still no call back. I called again and waited another 30 minutes with no call back. Starting to worry since it's the weekend and Monday is a holiday, I looked up dentists in my area that took emergency appts. Riverwalk Smile was my first call and they agreed to see me at 2:40 that day. I went in and the staff was so nice, the office was quiet and calm. I went in and was seen by the assistant who was so amazing and took some xrays. The dentist came over and recommended a root canal. I had never had anything like this happen before with my teeth so they took the time to explain everything to me about the procedure and answered all my questions. They said if I wanted to have it done there that they could do it right then. I was in such pain that I said yes, and they quickly ran the costs through my insurance and did the root canal. The dentist and assistant were so thorough and patient. I never felt like I was a last minute patient on the Friday before a holiday weekend. I felt like I was one of their longtime patients just getting a procedure done. Once I was home and the numbness wore off, my pain was totally gone! It was so amazing. I have to go back for the second part of the procedure in a week or so and have full confidence that it will go just as smoothly. I will definitely be switching to Riverwalk Smile for all my dentist needs. They obviously care very much for their patients and are very responsive to emergencies.

Emily coordinated with the Department of Veterans Affairs to smoothly transition an appointment for me and assisted me with being able to see the dental staff pretty early. Upon arrival, all staff members were very friendly and helpful. Upon completion of paperwork and taking antibiotics, on to the visit. Tessa was very friendly and knowledgeable as she talked to me, explaining the procedures, x-rays and verifying options. The dentist, Dr. Checan, came in and examined my mouth, recommending proper procedures and willingness to coordinate with an out of town oral surgeon for future dental work. Upon completion of.my examination, answered my questions, and explained future appointments. Diane will coordinate my care with the other oral surgeon in Columbia.. Inept Dentist! I went there to have a Maryland Bridge repaired. The bridge is 25 to 30 years old with two false teeth on it. One of the false teeth was broken, see photo. The dentist said it couldn't be repaired and would have to be removed. Then replaced by a new bridge at the cost of approximately $8000. Another dentist had already told me he could repair it for $950. So I was sceptical about both of the dentist and called a Dental Lab and talked with their technician. He said the dentist that quoted $950 was correct. Also said that Maryland Bridges last so long that most dentist do not use them and they cost much less than other type bridges. I'm attaching a photo of the repaired bridge. It shows before, during and final steps.

DENTAL NIGHTMARE! I came here after my dentist said I did not need a root canal but needed a crown on a cracked tooth. My dentist was out of network and this was a big expense so I came here because they were in network. BIG MISTAKE! Dr. Bishop swiped numbing jelly on my gum and immediately started giving me shots. He did not give it any time to get numb and seemed to be upset when I complained it hurt. He told me I needed a Root Canal and every time he tried to work on me I told him I could feel it and he was getting more upset and breathing harder. The dental assistant was very nice and trying to calm me down because Dr. Bishop was not talking to me. After enduring what I think was 6 different shots and a clamp that was cutting into my gum, he eventually said “I’m done” to the assistant and walked out during the procedure. The dental assistant tried to calm me down and apologized and sent me next door to Dr. Beam who immediately got me numb the first time he gave me a shot and finished the work. Dr. beam was not in network and I had to pay more than double so I went back to Riverwalk Smile Dentistry a couple days later after my mouth healed and I wasn’t as devistated and asked that they help with the bill since they stopped work in the middle of services that we agreed they would perform at a lower cost and because they were not able to and sent me to someone else that charged twice as much and they refused. I am considering calling Channel 9 to try and recoup part of the expense and to let them explain why their dentist could not perform services.

However the way they have treated or should say have failed to take care of my husband is not only unprofessional but shows us that this office only cares about the dollar and not the actual care and well being of it's patients. You have now lost both of us as clients and we will find a dentist that cares about the people. The front office lady needs to work on her attitude as well. Not everyone has $1000s of dollars laying around for dental emergencies and the fact that this office was unwilling to help with a resonable payment plan and refuse to finish a service that we already paid $1300 out of pocket until we pay another $700. And they want all this money before they even fix the dental emergency, get the hell out of here. Your office is a joke and should be ashamed of itself for treating people this way.

I thoroughly retract my positive review from the summer. After a good experience here I convinced my husband to switch to this dentist office to have a couple extractions done. He left the office in excruciating pain. I called back and the dentist I spoke with was very condescending and explained that with the opiate epidemic going on in this country she did not feel comfortable prescribing pain medication for tooth extractions. I am all for drug control but I feel this is excessive and somewhat lacking in compassion. We will be going back to our old dentist for the implant surgeries, I would hate for him to suffer through that experience with virtually no pain medication once again.

If you have anxiety about the dentist, this is the best dentist to go to! I had a traumatizing experience with a dentist I went to 8 years ago and since then, anytime I've had tooth pain I refused to see a dentist and would rather suffer. But finally I couldn't take the pain a wisdom tooth was causing me. I was open about how nervous I was, even made my dad go with me as support lol. And everyone was extremely kind and compassionate. The front desk, dental assistant or hygienist and the dentist himself. They were all comforting. I'm sure my anxiety isn't going to disappear but I know if I ever have a tooth problem I'll actually be willing to go see the dentist now. If you're anxious, call them! They're not going to make you feel bad about it and you'll be so relieved once you're done!
