I really love the experience I have with Orthodontic Experts. Sometimes when I get to my appointment early, they treat me early and only one time I had to wait for 3-5 minutes. Another thing I like about Orthodontic Experts is that they tell me what they are going to do and that makes me less nervous. I went to this place because the reviews showed 5 stars, but later I realized those reviews were part of a promotion offering a 5% discount. I’m writing this review after completing the treatment. So, why am I giving only one star: 1. I saw the doctor only 3 times over the course of 15 months. 2. The doctor is very rude. When she told me my treatment plan was finished, I said I wasn’t happy with the results. She replied, “What else do you want? I don’t understand what more you want?” I’ll attach photos — maybe I’m imagining things, you be the judge… I spoke out because initially I’ve been told “treatment will continue until your full satisfaction” 3. I had implants placed on two teeth, and my lower retainer no longer fit. My regular dentist gave me a metal one instead. When I came in to pick up my second set of retainers, she laughed in my face and said, “I don’t understand what’s going on here.” First of all, explain what’s so funny — if I understood, I wouldn’t be sitting in front of you. I told her my dentist said since the second pair of retainers was taking too long (it had been about a month and a half since the implants), he would give me metal ones to keep my teeth from shifting. 4. I called customer service to ask if anything could be done, and they said I’d have to go through the full treatment all over again — at full price. Saying I was shocked is an understatement. Please don’t waste your time and money. My mistake turned out to be a very expensive one. I should’ve realized this place wasn’t worth it when, during the consultation, there wasn’t even a doctor present to explain my case. There were just staff members who scanned me and kept saying “the doctor said.”

I went in for a consultation and had several X-rays taken (even though I didn't want the x-rays because I wanted to check the treatment plans at 2-3 places in the area)— billed to my insurance. However, when I asked how much my insurance would cover for the recommended treatment, they didn’t have that information available. I was told they would contact me later that day with the details. It’s now been three weeks, and I still haven’t heard anything back. Very disappointing follow-up and communication.

I am heartbroken and furious about what happened to my daughter at this office. During what was supposed to be a routine braces removal, one of her front teeth was cracked in half. She immediately told the provider that the tooth hurt while they were clamping, but they told her to take a deep breath and proceeded anyway. Right after applying pressure, the provider called the orthodontist over and admitted, “Her tooth cracked.” My daughter has sensory processing disorder and cried for almost 2.5 hours while they tried to bond the tooth back together. After the procedure, they made us wait in a room for 40 minutes just to speak with the corporate office — and when we finally got a call back, the representative was rude, dismissive, and refused to accept responsibility. We were told, “We don’t know how her tooth cracked,” even though it happened right in front of them. We now have to pay out-of-pocket for repairs because she currently doesn’t have dental insurance. I have never felt so disrespected or let down by a healthcare provider. This should have never happened — and even if it was an accident, they’ve shown no compassion, no accountability, and no willingness to help. I’ve filed complaints with the state and licensing boards, and I hope no other family has to go through what we did.

The staff quickly began bonding the tooth back together, which took over an hour. My daughter, who has sensory processing disorder, cried through the entire 2.5-hour ordeal. Afterward, we were placed in a private room for nearly 40 minutes waiting to speak with the corporate office, who were dismissive and unwilling to take responsibility. We were repeatedly told they were “not liable for any damage that occurs during procedures.” We now face additional out-of-pocket dental treatment expenses, despite the fact that she does not currently have insurance — and all of this was caused during a routine procedure. It has been incredibly upsetting for our family, and the way the situation was handled has left us feeling frustrated, dismissed, and unheard. We were only given copies of her X-rays and dental records after making multiple phone calls and waiting on hold for long periods. I would advise other families to ask detailed questions before any procedure and make sure their child is being treated with care, especially if they have medical or sensory sensitivities.

Dr. Salazar and her staff are phenomenal. I came to her for a second opinion about some issues I’ve been experiencing after removing a permanent retainer at another office. She really took the time to listen, problem solve, and offer her best suggestions that would fix my discomfort. Where other offices were quick to sell me more orthodontic treatment after 10 years of no problems, Dr. Salazar made it clear that is completely unnecessary. She is one of the good ones still out there, not looking for a quick cash grab. I highly recommend her.

They are very friendly, The staff is great No problem with the office staff. The only problem I have been having is the Scheduling department when I call the 1855 number. Emergency braces problems they are not available for a scheduling as soon as possible. My son has to be in pain until they are available as per scheduling department. They want me to wait 3 days!!! to schedule him. The other problem is that they have no afternoon scheduling for the kids. My son is in AP classes and missing a day can affect. Wish they had after school times.

Customer Service accidentally booked my sons appointment at the wrong location. Maria the clinic Manager at the front desk at the Orland Park location was very pleasant, kind, apologetic, and understanding and even went above and beyond by contacting her supervisor to see if my son could have x rays and pictures taken anyway even though his appointment wasn’t scheduled at the Orland Park location like it was supposed to be. It’s the little things for me! Give her a raise! Mistakes happen and the fact that she corrected someone else’s mistake without even being asked was a major plus for me! I really appreciate that because we drove all the way from Bourbonnais about 45 -50 minutes south. We have a full schedule and this location is the closest to us. I’m very pleased and looking forward to bringing my son here even more for his braces!
