The wait time was atrocious, even for a weekday and with an appointment. The people at the front desk were nice enough but the dentist that finally saw us tried to force my child's mouth open with his sharp dentistry tools. My child is 1.5 years old by the way, practically a baby. His apology afterwards was a resound "We're just so used to just going in." Like what??!? He's a child, obviously he's going to struggle and cry, but to try and force the mouth open with pointed metal tools?? And this wasn't even to do any work on my child, the dentist was just having a look inside my baby's mouth. He told us what work would have to be done but after the way he handled the situation we were not comfortable leaving our child's oral safety in his hands. This same dentist then had the audacity to charge us for having just tortured our child. It was a nightmarish experience and this man should not be practicing as a pediatric dentist. We'll not ever be taking our baby back there.

Childs fill appointment was at 11am , waited 45 min and still not seen, asked for how much longer front desk was unable to tell me how much longer .Ended up waiting for 2 hours .. ? ? Very disappointed, we have been coming here since they opened, and its been going down hill.This will be the last time we come here .

My son's first time visit was 11/3/23. I filled out all documents online prior to arriving, showed up early, followed all procedures to have a smooth visit. When I arrived the receptionists are too busy talking to each other to be bothered with doing their job. They were not even aware that I had filled out all forms prior to my arrival. I waited 15 mins just for them to tell me that the x-ray machine isn't working, to come back later today or tomorrow. They didn't know when the machine would be working again. Yes it's a nicely decorated place, but the most important part is missing: friendly staff, common courtesy, and genuine care for patients. I will not be returning!

We waited more than an hour, we were the last ones to attend and we arrived at the time we had the appointment, the doctor didn't even show up, she didn't talk to us at all, she just left and the nurse came and told me what my son needed. Then when we went in front we couldn't make the appointment because the guy who makes the appointments had already left. I think they should calculate or manage time better. There were many children that day.

This is my 3rd time consecutive for the same treatment that I come here they schedule me in and it takes hours to get seen . The first time I thought maybe they're just having one of those days they canceled my appointment the second time after I waited a long time and scheduled me in for today, I'm currently still sitting here it's been an hour and 30 min and they said I'm gonna be here for another 20 min just to get fillings for my child they have a terrible scheduling preceedure only one doctor that takes the cavities out. Everyone that I am seeing waiting all those 3 days have complained of the scheduling and the time they have been waiting and that they've had to come back over and over again for the same thing. they'll tell you the same thing I'm terribly sorry for the long wait the doctor is a little backed up today? They know there is a problem and continue to over schedule I don't know how much specific I can be do not come here. There are families with new born and toddlers waiting for over an an hour and half. This is ridiculous because it's not a one time thing busy day it's literally an everyday thing and they act like they're sorry and that it's not something they're purposely doing when scheduling completely unprofessional and unethical.

Best dental place to take your kids! My 4 year old son is very nervous and full of anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I brought him here because a friend recommended this office and I live nearby. The front office person, Emily was very helpful and explained the entire process for his checkup. The supervisor Dianne stayed with him during the entire process, X-rays, cleaning, etc. Dr. Bita was very welcoming and my son felt very comfortable with both of them.. He now looks forward to coming to the dentist and getting his teeth cleaned!

Went in for a normal checkup, staff is very professional and kind, the supervisor Dianne was very helpful with my child. I told her it was my sons very first time. She assisted in taking his x-rays, he was really nervous but she made him feel comfortable and walked him through everything. He is no longer scared and left happily with some clean teeth, bubbles and stickers!

I live in Pico Rivera but i drive all the way out to Compton to Magicland for my son to have the best experience at the dentist. First off the facility is very clean, the front desk staff is always welcoming and friendly, the dental assistants and dentist are all very professional, patient and friendly with the kids and with the parents. They explain everything you need to know. My son had a very bad experience when he was 4 years old at the previous dentist and he cried and felt anxious. Ever since we changed to Magicland he has no issues coming to the dentist. They have a clown in the front to greet the kids which is very nice. They have a movie theater and games for the kids in the waiting area. Overall great service! I highly recommend Magicland if you want your little ones to have a good experience at the dentist. Worth the 45 minute drive from Pico Rivera

I’ve been having both of my daughters come to this office for approximately 2 yrs. 1 for Orthodontics payed treatment fully out of pocket.. communication re: treatment is horrible. Have a 10 year old that needed fillings and XB (extractions) and she said that she was told that if she cries then she will be given more shots!!! If this is not TRAUMA .. then explain it to me!!!!!?? As an adult, when you’re having a treatment they tell you to raise your left hand if you want them to stop or there’s any concerns, correct? Why threaten a kid that if they complain they get more shots? Someone please help me understand this??!!!

I highly recommend this office I went to the Torrance did not like it. Caroline very helpful and kind. Ik my kids can be a handful she was very nice and patient. Such a great soul. She made me feel safe as a mom it’s scary cause my kids were afraid. But how she handled the situation is very amazing. The others nurses are not like that at all they look miserable. It's was a nice dental office and while they do let you be with your child during their x-rays and initial check they don't let you be there with your child during the procedure I resent not being there with my daughter during the procedure because she had some redness around her eye after the procedure like if they had applied too much pressure and not knowing what happened is not something I'm happy about

Today my child was labeled and called aggressive by the dental assistant. My 3 yr old was getting a sealant placed on one tooth, I sat in the chair to hold her and assist in her saying still for the 2 minutes too procedure and in that time my child very understandably became afraid of the random stanger attempting to touch her without introduction or instructions. The assistant was visibly afraid prior to even addressing me or my child. When she requested my child to open her month she replied no and the assistant called her AGGRESSIVE. My black child was called aggressive by a non black assistant for saying no to a stranger she doesn't know who in comparison is a huge adult. I immediately corrected the assistant and told her to not call or label my child aggressive and told her if she didn't feel comfortable with that then we would need someone else, she corrected herself and called her "Fiesty" instead. Due to our interactions my daughter refused to open her mouth so I suggested the assistant get a bite block to help her to place the sealant, but why did I need to suggest it to the professional?. Just a horrible experience

Two stars because we had a good start with this location but the last visit was not organized at all. We scheduled an appointment less than a week ago to come back for some work after my daughter had a cleaning. We were told what it would be, how much it would be, and approximately how long it would take. The front desk staff and back office staff were extremely kind, friendly and patient when answering all my questions. Upon arriving today, we were given different feedback for what needed to be done and that it would impact cost. I asked for the cost and it wasn’t provided to me until after my child was in the room, strapped up, and ready for the work. As a Mom and a little patient, this is the hardest part of the visit. Up until this point, everyone was somewhat friendly for the most part. The real issue, the attitude when a concerned Mom is asking questions and providing feedback. Perhaps it’s the front desk nurse and back office nurse who were having a rough day, but that should have nothing to do with the patients. I hope the next patient receives better service and care.

They are not very inclusive. Have no understanding on how to treat a child who is scared. They just act like they don't really want to give any effort to treat my child. And they wanted to take my already scared child to a treatment room without a parent !, and the reason for that is, "that room is too small"! We'll never go there again. Yes, it is a nicely painted and decorated place. But caring for a child is more than that.

To start I have my nephew and they wanted a notarized letter to be Abel to see him. Then my son is deaf and wear a mask last they gave me a Leah A legal document if I consent to them being tied in the arms and wrapped down while treatment I do not consent and they still where well this is what we do so u have to. And me as a parent I can’t be in the room well my son is deaf and autistic how are you going to communicate with him he is 12 and needs asl the other children don’t need to be tied there 16/11/9 so no I refuse to and will take them somewhere else worst experience they say they cater to kid no I don’t think so

I had to make a change to my dentist office because we lost our previous dentist. Magicland allowed me to make a next day appointment. Within that week, both my kids had their teeth cleaned and my oldest had a cavity filled. He was comfortable with the dentists, and it was an overall great experience.

DON"T TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE! They lied about kids having cavities. They said my daughter had four cavities, I let them do the filling but after seeing my daughter the way she came out from that room and reading some reviews of people complaining of how much they lied about our children having cavities. I decided to go pay $25 for a copy of my daughters X-ray and I sent it to a friend who works with a dentist to take a look and X-ray didn't show my daughter having any cavities. Besides 4 cavities is a lot for a child to have in just 6 months. I got charged $270 even with insurance for them to tell me the laughing gas didn't work because my daughter was crying the whole time. It was my daughter first time here and last, she was scared and stress from they way the had her. I don't understand why they say a parent it's a distraction, our child would be more comfortable having a parent with them. BE AWARE if they tell you that your child has cavities.

My Son's 1st Appointment was Nov 20,2022 Everything began with X-rays. The XRay technician was not patient with my child. She does not have the skills to work with children. 2nd my son was sent to exam Community room. He was only give an paste and that was all the rushed treatment. A worker came to give me a paper to sign for without showing the content. She was sure to get that signature to build Medical. Please be aware of all the charger your medical insurance have. I have experienced low quality of service from dentist because they just see it's just medical. They are getting their money from them but yet do not give quality services. Another NO NO was when I was told I could not be in the treatment room. My son is a minor 5 yes old. I will not leave him alone. Yes it's a nice decorated place but the most important part it's missing. Genuine care, friendly staff, and personal attention. I have to say the reception staff are very gentle. But the back staff are horrible.

Avoid this place. The dentist don’t spend time with parents to explain procedures and risk thoroughly they pick at a tooth here and there then they send another person in from their office to start talking money. My daughter had a crown and a few fillings they maxed out my insurance (PPO) after I payed over three hundred out of pocket which was supposed to include my deductible and it didn’t, I come back because the crown fell off and my daughter developed an infection. They see her as an emergency and they tell me they need to extract the tooth and do several other things and it was going to cost me over a thousand dollars because my insurance is capped out. I went to my children’s original dentist next to the children’s hospital in Long Beach and they also accept cash if they are out of network. I payed 80 dollars cash for X-rays and check up they told me the do need to do an extraction and will include sedation for her anxiety and all the services will be less than 300 if I pay cash, they spend time with the parents and actually let you in if needed and the hospital is next door in case of an emergency especially with kids that have asthma or special needs. I couldn’t believe it! AVOID places like this that take advantage of people. No lleven a sus ninos aqui. Cobran lo maximo que pueden y no hacen bien trabajos. No vallan a las oficinas de western dental y menos a esta. Es deficil buscar dentistas buenos para los ninos. Ay uno en long beach a un lado del hospital ellos son muy buenos y pasientes con los ninos y no cobran caro.

My child is really scared of the dentist so its usually hard to get him to calm down yet I was pleasantly surprised at how well this place helped him ease his fears. Selina went above and beyond in helping him and making him feel safe as well as assuring me that everything would be alright. He even got a couple of goodies like bubbles, stickers and toothbrush with toothpaste! Now he is excited for the next cleaning!

Selena front desk rep was extremely rude. I had spoken with her about my sons appointment and told her I was unable to make it but his sister who is 27 years old can bring him in. She did not say that it would be a problem or anything for that matter, when they got to the office my daughter signed some documents and was told the doctor was running late and it would be about 45 mins until my son was seen even though they checked in at 11 for his 11 o’clock appt. After about 30 mins Selena calls my daughter and says that they cannot see my son because she isn’t his parent but we were not told this beforehand, my daughter said that she asked Selena why wasn’t something said ahead of time and Selena disregarded her and said that regardless they will not see him. I called and spoke with Selena and she was extremely vulgar and disrespectful I asked for a manager and she said she was and ended the phone call. I will never return back here

Don’t force parents to agree to a procedure that you won’t do on your adult self. Why would you wanna give a 2 year old major surgery without proper sedation and their parent there to comfort them. I been doing my research and a baby died behind this surgery.. Today is May 21 I posted this review 2 years ago and my heart and feelings had changed because one of the staff members sat me down and explained to me the importance and the health of my babies teeth. I took my toodler here for the first time for exam and xrays. Dentist mentioned that he needed to get a silver crown due to a huge cavity. They also informed me that I could NOT be present in the room while they performed this procedure, which I thought was odd and made me uneasy. I asked the front desk why I could not be inside the room as my toddler is 4 and I wanted to make sure he felt safe. She responded saying that they have small rooms and thats why I couldnt be inside...very odd. I went ahead and called another location and they even thought it was weird how a parent was not allowed to be inside the room and assured me that was not the case at their location. I immediately canceled my appointment for my son to go to Magicland dental and would not recommend to any parent that is concerned with a procedure done to their child.

I give this office a 5 star. Starting off with the man outside how he is with the kids. Once you open the door the receptionist is very good with her patients. X-rays technicians are awesome they greet yuh explain what they will be doing. Drs make sure you know what process or procedure will they be performing. The dentist was very rude and rushed the services with my children. He didn’t even check to see if their mouths were numb before he began working on their teeth!!! I didn’t find this out until they came out because you can’t go in for them to have a procedure done!!! Didn’t find that out until you have already done everything else. Never again will my kids go back to Magicland… not even for a follow up!!! I will not recommend to any of my friends

Our first visit was very quick with x-rays including the diagnosis for both of my children. The staff was very nice including the whole office it self. On our second visit there was a max of 5 to 10 min wait due to paper work that I had to fill out before treatment. Over all my kids loved the entire visit to top it off they saw Elmo and Mr. Turkey.

This dental office is nice and clean and new. Very child oriented. Staff are great. My concern is that parents are not allowed to see their child while they are getting work done( fillings, etc.). That made me super uneasy. I understand not being able to be in the room, but just as a protective parent it was uncomfortable for me. Also, what made it more uncomfortable was the pedi-wrap they use, basically as a restraint for your child. I understand the reasoning behind it, and parents do have to consent to this but, the fact that it didn’t even seem like there was an option for it, made me very apprehensive. My child does well at the dentist and does not require any type of restraint or nitrous oxide, or anything extra to “calm him,” but that does not matter. We were first timers to a pediatric dentist, but I will be switching back to a family practice. All the build up to the actual procedure, consents for the pedi wrap and sedatives, nitrous oxide, and not being able to even have eyes on my kid was too much for me. If your child needs the additional assistance to be compliant during a visit, this is the place for you, otherwise for a more easy going feeling, try a family practice.

Baby's first dental visit was brilliant! We were set at ease from the beginning by the sounds of Moana playing throughout the office. The front desk staff, nurses and dentist were all extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Baby boy is almost 11 months old and does not like lying down at all. They handled it so well. Be aware of this place!!! Unless you want your child to get unnecessary dental work and have them charge your insurance "X" amount of money then you found your ideal place. Please read entire review!!! My Sister and I took my Niece to this dental place as it looks very child friendly and welcoming and were in for a ride. They did all the exams necessary for my Niece and confirmed she needed dental work. As we asked for further information due to COVID they suggested she get the fillings for her cavities done that same day immediately. No parent allowed in the room. It was my 3 y/o Niece's first time at the dentist and we definitely will never allow my Niece to ever be alone without one of her parents present! Big no no for this dental office. We decided to leave as this was a HUGE RED flag for us. 2 weeks later we go to a dentist in Redondo Beach highly recommend and they confirmed she had NO cavities. Which made more sense because we limit sugar intake and brush 3x's a day. Please ask questions and get a second opinion! Who cares what the facility looks like, or how nice they're. Protect your child and always get a second opinion.

The reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is everything went good with take in, paperwork, extremely fast process from walk in to walked out. The only reason I gave 3 stars was that my 4 yr old walked out with a cut on his chin. I asked what had happened and he said that the doctor did it. I asked if it was brother, or if he fell or hit anything on accident, he repeated "no, it was the doctor". No other complaints except for this one. I would comeback, and recommend this place.

So Happy I went in with my daughter, I did a walk in. This is a super kid friendly place and beyond what I expected, first off let’s start with how clean the office is; the dental assistants all have proper protection gear. The kids theater to kids area and just the wall decor makes the kids happy! I was in awe with the office manager, she was so kind and explained all the dental work my daughter received and she also provided me with updates and walked me in to see how my daughter was doing. The doctor who also did the work on her also heard my concerns and listen which not a lot of dental office do, overall the staff was also very kid friendly. This place far exceeded my expectations! The staff and dentist were super friendly and took the time to explain everything. The facility is very clean with 2 kid friendly playrooms, state of the art wall mounted touch screen games and movie theater. The walls are beautifully painted circus theme with movies played for each patient to watch cartoons while in the chair. I wish I found this place sooner. My kids old dentist western dental in southbay pavillion was garbage, customer service was awful and even with an appointment we had to wait 3 hrs at best. This place so far has been amazing we come in usually 15 min wait and they get their appointments over with. My son chipped 2 of his front teeth in a head on collision in a bouncy house he had to get crowns and they made him as comfortable as they could and they checked up on him the next day via phone call it's been 3 months and his crowns are in great shape. Definitely recommend this place.

I’ve been bringing my daughter to this dental office since last year and I love it! Always clean, the staff is friendly, and the decor is animated which makes my daughter excited to be there. She enjoys the service because it’s always quick and easy. They even have a character such as spider man, Elmo, etc that makes balloon animals out front. No complaints here :)

This dentist office was AMAZING for and with me 4yr old daughter, especially with this being her first dentist visit ever! They are very polite, kind, patient, accommodating, and positive in every way... including the atmosphere, dentists/staff, and the vibes! 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend. At one point, I couldn't be with her, and they gained my daughter's trust as well as mine, so I felt comfortable leaving her, and she comfortable enough to be without me! They followed COVID regulations and ensured a safe, clean environment for us to be in, which I appreciate because I am immuno-compromised.

All staff are really child friendly and patient with the children. Fast and informative. Clinic is really nice and clean. Would recommend. My child walked in curious with the balloons and circus tigers in the waiting area. Hotel Transylvania was playing in our room. Walked out happy with her goodie basket.

I loved it! My 8 year old son is a cry baby. Every where else i go, they always reffer him to different places where they can put him to sleep. Here they took care of him and made him feel so comfortable. The nurses and specially the x-ray techs were amazing and very polite and educated. The doctor explained every picture and what he saw and what needed to be done. Deffenetely making this their primary dental clinic from now on.? God bless this amazing team.

Great experience at magicaland dental. A very clean, organized and sanitized place. Staff was very friendly, as well all covid-19 protocols are taken into order. Staff wear face mask at all time. Cecy made it comfortable for my daughter while she got her x-rays. The Doctor was very knowledgable and and gave her patient care well. Julio did my daughter's cleaning and he was very gentle. My daughter felt very comfortable here at magicaland dental. Will definitely be going back.!!

Horrible. Took my 4 year old here because they had weekend appointments available sooner then her regular dentist. So she was there a week ago on 7/11/20. They did her x-rays & doctor was telling me & my husband she had 4 cavities & needed a crown. An she needed to have the treatment done. An they didn't want to do the cleaning until after her treatment was done. So they were going to do the treatment & they tied her down & told me an my husband to wait outside. At that point we refused any treatment & told them we'll take her to her regular dentist. While i was in the waiting area, waiting for my daughter to have her x-rays. Literally every single patient that was coming out they were telling the parents they needed treatment. I get they just open but seriously there just trying to make money & charge insurances for unnecessary treatments. An also while we were there the staff in the front office wasn't wearing face mask. I get they have the pixie glass but that defeats the purpose of protecting patients from covid if the staff isn't wearing there mask. So i did i took her to her dentist in Montebello yesterday on 7/16/20 & they did new x-rays & her doctor said she didn't have not one single cavity. An i show her the x-rays that this dentist did on 7/11/20 & she said that there x-rays didn't show anything at all & that they also didn't take complete x-rays. So just beware when going to magicland dental.

my 4yr old usually freaks out at the dentist, but the staff and Doctor kept her calm and comfortable. My son who's 10 had a tooth extracted with little to no pain. Office was clean and sanitizer available. Staff wore masks at all times.

Took my daughter for an infection on her front tooth, she was in so much pain and had her face completely swollen on one side. I was referred here by another dental office which told me she had ZERO cavities and magically 2 hours later when I arrived at this dental office she had a few cavities. They kept telling me they were going to do a cleaning on her teeth but she didn’t need one. Besides I did NOT go in for that. My daughter was in so much pain and can hardly open her mouth but they wanted to perform a cleaning and do sealants. They were trying to have me sign to accept treatment but I refused. If they weren’t able to help me with my concern which was the infection then I had nothing to do there. I feel like they lie about kids having cavities just to milk the insurance. That is definitely not ok. They don’t care what pain they put kids through just for plain greed! The only good thing about this place is the lovely balloon lady they have in the front. She makes kids feel happy.
