MEET DR. DAVID KAO
Dr. David Kao is a trusted expert in the Los Angeles community, specializing in periodontal care and dental implants. His focus is on helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
A proud UCLA graduate, Dr. Kao further advanced his expertise by earning a postdoctoral degree in Periodontology from the University of Connecticut. This extensive training makes him uniquely qualified to manage both implant dentistry and the health of supporting oral tissues. During your first visit, Dr. Kao will conduct a comprehensive periodontal examination, address all of your concerns, and develop a personalized treatment plan to ensure the best possible health for your teeth and gums.
MEET DR. LESHIN CHEN
Dr. Leshin Chen brings academic excellence and specialized expertise to every patient he serves. Graduating magna cum laude in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from UCLA, Dr. Chen continued his education at UCLA School of Dentistry, where he graduated cum laude with his dental degree.
Dr. Chen completed a rigorous three-year residency in Post Graduate Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery at UCLA. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, an honor that signifies exceptional achievement beyond mandatory specialty training and certification from the American Board of Periodontology.
MEET DR. HENRY H. TAKEI
Dr. Henry H. Takei combines extensive training with decades of professional accolades to deliver outstanding periodontal care. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California and earned his dental degree, master’s degree, and certification in periodontics from Marquette University.
Dr. Takei is highly respected in his field, holding fellowship status in the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He is an active member of numerous prestigious organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, California Society of Periodontists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society

My parents have been coming to this office for over 30 years and we commute an hour to get here - and it is SO VERY worth it. They both have been seeing Dr. Kao, and prior to that, were with Dr. Kitazawa before his retirement. Dr. Kao and his staff (Debbie, Beth, Joy, etc) are absolutely amazing humans. Joy has been at this office forever and has been deep cleaning my parents’ teeth and gums since they started there 30+ years ago. They only trust her for the job! They have both had surgeries, tooth extractions and my mom even received a tooth implant here - and the work was flawless and painless. Dr. Kao also is VERY honest and never upsells. If he can save a tooth or has another solution that is more conservative, he will try it first. I have accompanied my parents numerous times to appointments and have seen firsthand how well they treat them and how intricately they check tooth and gum health. I highly recommend Dr. Kao and Joy.
