Dr. Erez Nosrati is a highly skilled specialist in Periodontics, Oral Implantology, and Oral Pathology, bringing over 15 years of dedicated dental experience to his patients. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Periodontology in both periodontology and dental implant surgery. Along with serving as a voting member of the American Academy of Periodontology, he is a proud member of the International Society of Periodontal Plastic Surgeons (ISPPS). Outside of his private practice, Dr. Nosrati shapes the next generation of dental professionals as a faculty member at the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.
Education and Leadership
Before relocating to La Jolla, Dr. Nosrati lived in Chicago, where he balanced private practice with a clinical faculty role at Midwestern University’s College of Dental Medicine. During his time there, he founded the university's division of periodontics. He completed his residency at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, proudly serving as both chief resident and class president. His academic foundation includes a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, as well as a Master of Science in Cardiac Physiology from the Hadassah School of Medicine in Jerusalem.

With a robust medical background, Dr. Nosrati has worked as a consultant and associate researcher for several biotech companies focusing on heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. He collaborated with Riley Children’s Hospital and Indiana University to conduct advanced research on how periodontal health impacts children with congenital heart conditions. This vital research earned him a Master of Science in Dentistry and was published in the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Passionate about sharing knowledge, he travels the globe as part of the Straumann Speaker Consortium to lecture on implantology, periodontology, and the connection between heart and oral health.

Great location and office is super nice/ welcoming. The dentist is also great and explained things very well, however they seem to lack a sense of urgency when it comes to completing a treatment plan. They told me they would follow back up with a plan for my gum/ bone issue and it’s been almost 4 weeks with no outreach. Very disappointed in that type of service so i’d recommend going elsewhere.

I had an excellent result at La Jolla Dental Implants and Periodontics with my implant. I was nervous about having the implant done, but Dr. Erez put me at ease by explaining everything to me. He is knowledgeable, kind, and has a good sense of humor! Dr. Erez performed the implant for me under sedation. The sedation and the procedure were both successful! I did not experience any discomfort during the procedure and very mild discomfort after. I'm happy to say I have gone on to heal without any problem and I'm so pleased with the result of this implant! His assistant was so nice and they really seem to work well together!
