Dr. Avni Goel brings over a decade of experience as a general dentist and a passion for patient-centered care. With eight years of practice in the U.S. and three years in India, she has developed a global perspective and honed her expertise in comprehensive dentistry.
Graduating summa cum laude from Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Goel is a proud member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. Her dedication to clinical excellence is complemented by her experience working with diverse healthcare organizations and Dental Service Organizations (DSOs).
In 2022, Dr. Goel took an entrepreneurial leap, acquiring a dental practice with a vision of blending outstanding clinical care and effective business strategies. She currently oversees business operations and marketing while collaborating with a trusted colleague who leads clinical services.

Dr. Julie Lee grew up in Korea and Canada, bringing a diverse background to her dental practice. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University before completing her DDS at the University of Southern California in 2014. Since then, Dr. Lee has proudly served the Houston community, combining her artistic touch with scientific expertise to improve oral health.
Dr. Lee is an esteemed member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society. She is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and has given back to the dental community by volunteering as a clinical faculty member at the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston.
What Dr. Lee loves most about dentistry is the opportunity to blend art and science to enhance the well-being of her patients. I've been a patient through 3+ different dentists. The dental hygienists and front desk really make this place, honestly. Which is great, because it's typical to only spend a few minutes with your dentist. It's not close to my house but I really like my hygienist, so it's worth the drive to know I'll get great service. They have invisalign and sell great electric toothbrushes and water flossers.

I went into the Insight Dental office to get my cleaning done. Front staff and Eloy were really nice and friendly. I’ve been conscious of my teeth and wanted to explore options to close the gaps. Dr. Shad was kind and explained my option in depth. They used a scan machine to scan my mouth and get me retainers. I’m extremely happy with my experience. I hadn’t seen a dentist since 2020 and this has been by far the best dental experience I have had in a long time! Nestled in the uptown area this office has ample parking to begin with, getting in was easy, I was able to call in the day before and they were gracious enough to accommodate me . The whole experience from the time I walked in was seamless, no long wait times got my cleaning done. The hygienist, Duelda, was very thorough and informative. This office is really top notch, with the state of the art CEREC (they can make your crown the same day, in house!!!). I have to commend Dr. Shad for taking his time explaining everything and taking the fear out of “being at the dentist office”. I am a lifelong Houstonian and grew up not too far from this place, and I wish I had a dentist like Dr. Shad when I was younger!

I am a retired dentist from India and very difficult to be satisfied with other dentists for my own dental treatment. That was how my own wisdom tooth got so bad and had to be extracted. I was a bit apprehensive as it is upper wisdom tooth and was next to the endodontically treated tooth. But all my apprehensions vanished as soon as I entered the office of Insight Dental. The ambience of the front office and the staff at the front desk were very pleasantly inviting. I did not have to wait much for my dental examinations and X-rays. Dr Shad explained me that the tooth in question is badly decayed and needed immediate extraction and his whole approach instilled confidence in me that I am in safe and able hands. It is needless to say that he made a difficult extraction so easy that I did not feel any pain. I was so relieved that I have found a good place for my dental treatments. Thank you Dr Shad!

Great dental care! Dr is very clear on what is needed now and what he suggests can be done later. The hygienist is very experienced and does a great job. The front desk is very helpful and friendly. They even have a new cutting edge machine that scans your mouth and will make a crown while you wait… about a hour. Pretty amazing!

Ultimately, I had to replace my old crown, but was pleasantly surprised to learn that with the new state of the art technology, it could all be done in office, and in about two hours, instead of making multiple visits and fittings. Loved the little educational moment of learning how new tech works and seeing how they made a brand new crown and then popped it in without incident to get me on my way the same day. My situation needed some post visit follow up due to an insurance snag. They handled it immediately and resolve the issue. The hygienist is incredibly knowledge and very thorough at her craft. She took the time to explain to me everything with pictures my issues. The head dentist is probably the best dentist I have ever used. Again, friendly, thorough, and eager to make the experience feel first class. If there is anyone looking for a new dentist. This group is everything you might be looking for.

Hygienist D has been cleaning my teeth my last few visits and she’s very caring , gentle and thorough when she cleans my teeth. I always feel welcomed when I enter the office. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. My family and I definitely plan to come back!

One of the worst dentist experiences that I had. I should have read the reviews before going there. And, yep, I got the "doctor/dental hygienist" lady (Duelda) who was rough and rude. I guess they pay her to recommend stuff (deep cleaning) that you don't need so they can milk the insurance more. I got the deep cleaning and my teeth don't feel as clean as a regular cleaning. Stay away from this place.

The Dr. and staff would not honor my regular cleaning covered by my insurance. They tried to upsale me to a deep cleaning. That in its self is understandable.The unacceptable part is they refuse me a regular Cleaning. Why take the insurance and not honor it? Greed is why!

Doctor Dentist Lady (I don't even know her name because her bedside manners are terrible) is rude and annoying, she doesn't seem qualified and does not care about your comfort. Simple things are to expensive and she had said some absurd things - "fluoride is vitamins for your teeth" . I have been going to Insight Dental Group for nine years. The staff and dentists have always been very professional and friendly. They make your appointment as pleasant an experience as they can for going to a dentist office. Their location has lots of parking to get in and out of as well. Looking for a new dentist. Turnover super high and service is not the same. Clearly the office is hurting for money and only want to sell you $200 toothbrushes plus anything else you can pay out of pocket for. I don't trust the dentist to do any work in my mouth. May do more damage just to get an extra buck down the road. Just shut down the office already.

It’s sad and frustrating to see the dental office you’ve used the last 10 years decline in quality and professionalism. Dr Crabtree was a excellent dentist but unfortunately he passed and a group took over this office. They were ok at first but as of last year or perhaps since Dr. above took over the whole place is terrible! I’ve had perfect teeth for years, “mostly in part bcs Dr Crabtree and his staff helped” but last year I went in for a routine checkup and cleaning and left with more issues! Dr.Bove has terrible bed side manners and to be honest I believe she doesn’t know what she’s doing. The front desk is also a mess. I continue to have issues with what the apparently “corrected.” It’s enough that I plan on filing a complaint with the state. I know dental appts are difficult to obtain in such a big city but do yourself a favor and wait for a real professional!

Let's start by talking about my tooth quality and self care habits. I've gone to dentists regularly every 6 months for pretty much my whole life. I've had braces and currently have a permanent retainer behind my lower front teeth. In general, I've been told by my dentists (I've had 4 or 5 over my lifetime) that I have "good but not great" teeth (31 years old, never had a cavity), and decent wellness habits (brush my teeth twice per day, floss once per week - it could be more, I know). That said, I do struggle a bit with getting plaque from beneath my retainer in between the permanent retainer and my teeth. So, that's out of the way. I came in today for my first visit with Amrita Ganguly (sp?) - new dentist because I've recently moved to the area. Problem 1 - my appointment is scheduled for 7:15 am, so I arrive at 7:00 am to make sure I can get my new patient paperwork out of the way. I get there -the door is locked. 7:15 arrives - door is still locked. 7:20 comes around, and I've lost patience so I knock on the door. They come by and open it, "sorry, I must have forgotten to unlock the door". Okay, off to a rough start. I get into the appointment and things start out pretty standard - brief chat with the hygienist, she starts taking a few x-rays. The x-ray machine is on the fritz, so we move to a different room. No problem. Dr. Ganguly comes by before the cleaning starts and reviews the condition of my teeth, asks the last time I saw a dentist (I tell her 6-8 months ago), and she notes the plaque build up under my retainer. Here's where things start to go sideways a bit. She recommends in an off-hand way that I have a "debridement" before heading out of the room. Another woman comes in shortly thereafter with a consent sheet for me to sign, noting that I will be charged $68 for the visit. That's odd - my 6 months check-ups are fully covered by my dental insurance. What's the $68 for? Oh, that will be for the full mouth debridement. I ask her what exactly that is - she explains that it's something between the standard cleaning and a deep cleaning, but doesn't say what it actually entails. In my head, I'm thinking that I've been seeing all these dentists for all these years every 6 months and they've never even suggested such a thing to me before, but okay. I ask if I can just have the standard cleaning this time and think it over on the debridement. She goes to get Dr. Ganguly to talk it over. The dentist comes back and explains that she really needs to do this debridement and that's her official recommendation. She still hasn't explained what it actually is, but I relent and sign the consent form. Here's what the "full mouth debridement" consists of - the dentist polishes my teeth (standard, usually done by a hygienist). She then utilizes a Cavitron (ultrasonic water pick) to clean around the teeth and gums. I've experienced this previously as part of standard cleanings, though more often they just use the regular metal pick. Nothing special, in my opinion. And that's it. She says thanks, the hygienist flosses my teeth. and I'm on my way. And I'm out $68. For that. Thanks, but I don't expect I will be returning. EDIT: To add additional insight and respond to the owner below - I do not ultimately take issue with the dentist's diagnosis that I had plaque/tartar build-up underneath my permanent retainer and as a result some mild gum inflammation. I acknowledge this is the case. I do take issue with Insight Dental choosing to add on an additional "debridement" code to clean that area, when every other dentist in the past has been able to manage it under the standard cleaning charge. Again, the standard of service was not the problem - the dentist's choice to charge an additional fee was. It is not cost competitive with other dentists in the area ($68 vs $0 for the same service), and that is the reason I will not return.

Meh. Been going here a few years now and recently there has been a lot of turn over. I always saw the same dentist for the first 2 years but in the last year, there’s a different dentist every time. They also really dropped the ball when I was supposed to have some zoom whitening done before a couple of big events. They had to reschedule me twice, then cancel me, said they would call me back when the product was in to reschedule but never called me when it arrived like they said they would. I called and talked to a manager and it was nothing but excuses rather than trying to do something to make it right and keep me as a client. I am going to try a new dentist now and I’ll have to be in a pretty desperate spot to ever want to give this place a chance again.

Very nice Dental Hygienist, but don’t get an early afternoon appointment, you will be locked out, standing in the hall with no seating, wondering if they are closed for the day, while no one answers the phone. I thought that went away in the 80’s.

Came for my first visit. I was there to establish a relationship with a new dentist as I am new in town. I am 56 years old and have been to the dentist regularly to get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. After x-rays, the dentist came in to do an exam. She said the x-rays looked good. She suggested a deep clean on several areas. I’ve never needed this before. The hygienist came back and said that’d was going to cost $310 cash money...today. I told her I’d not expected to pay for a cleaning and exam as insurance has always covered that. I do not have that kind of money to “drop”. I said that’d I rather just do the regular cleaning that is part of the first visit. She said they could not do that since the dentist recommended the additional cleaning of areas. I reiterated and thanked her but, said I’d think about the deep cleaning and the cost. She went to the dentist and came back and said, they could not do anything further....NO cleaning. AT ALL unless I did the additional $310 cleaning. I was nice, polite and appalled. I’ve never-ever-ever...ever been to a place like this. The only thing I could do was not get my teeth cleaned and leave. What sort of sham is this? The only reason I am not giving one star is because the office was clean.

Staff is extremely rude , the girls working reception look as if they don’t want to be there , the dentist herself was a better salesman than professional she kept trying to pressure me into getting work done that I did not need the whole time while maintaining this horrible look on her face . I don’t know know what happened to this practice but it took a HUGE nosedive downhill . I do not recommend them AT ALL!

I wish I could give them zero stars. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE. They told me my son had SEVEN cavities and that I needed a deep cleaning. Luckily I was smart enough to get a second opinion. All they do is lie to try and get money from you. I just can’t believe that a dentist is evil enough to unnecessarily drill 7 times on a child’s mouth.

This dental office is completely confused and have no idea of dealing with insurance policies or explaining the procedures. They informed me to wait a month before I can make an appointment due to the fact I was not on their roster , then turn around and say they are not appointing new patients. Thus, why did they tell me to wait a month to begin with. Highly annoying and frustrating!

I had a bad experience with Insight Dental Group. I went there for regular clean, and I did not feel uncomfortable with my teeth. But they force me to do deep clean and other treatments. If I don't those treatments, they wouldn't give me a regular clean. I had to leave without doing anything. I wouldn't recommend Insight Dental Group to anyone.

Once you find a good dentist office, never let them go! I moved recently, so I decided to find a local dentist (Castle Dental). That was a huge mistake. I went on my day off and wasted 2 hrs waiting, didn’t get a cleaning and got misdiagnosed just so I could pay for a more expensive treatment. At Insight Dental it was the complete opposite. I waited all of 5 minutes at the lobby and then my hygienist came to get me. Kim was incredibly nice, friendly made the whole appointment seem like I was visiting an old friend. I didn’t bleed during the cleaning at all and when the doctor saw me she said everything looked perfect! I only paid my copay and not some ridiculous price like what was suggested by Castle Dental. So happy I drove further to come here. It’s definitely worth it. I wish everyone had this kind of friendly and honest dentist experience.

The office staff is lovely and the dentists were nice, but if I am going to spend thousands of dollars in my teeth, I expect them to work on the teeth I tell them to work on. Five months of visits, only to find out that they not only didn't work on the tooth they told me they would work on - the tooth I authorized them to work on - but they have no record of it at all. They did, however, work on a tooth I did not consent to. When I called my dental insurance to report this situation, I found out that they either never have or have yet to bill there. They’ve had my money since this treatment plan started five months ago, but they’ve failed to report it to the insurance. Did they ignore my insurance completely and bill me full price? I guess we will see. As important as teeth are, I will never go back to a dental office that decides upon themselves to perform unauthorized surgery.

Call second time : you have to be on our roaster list, it comes out on 12 of every month. 3. Call on the Dec 13: You are not on roaster list, ? Also we are booked up till March 30. Dr. Bove and his staff are FANTASTIC! I'm currently having a LOT of work done on my teeth and he's been the best dentist I've ever had. His staff are all very friendly and professional. I've recommended many people to his office and will continue to do so. In fact, I leave in 20 minutes to have yet another crown done! After that, I will have two more crowns and a bridge, an implant, Invisilign and finally whitening. Although, I would rather be doing something a bit more fun than having my gums pierced by a needle for numbing, I'm all in :). For now, I'm very pleased and I'll let you know about the final results! From the onset, I was very impressed with the front desk personnel, & Nancy, the hygienist! She was very competent in getting great x-rays & gave me some helpful tips on better brushing & flossing. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 5 years and when I lost a filling I knew I had to suck it up and go. My teeth were cleaned and in the past it would be tender and I would feel like my gums were tender for days. My hygienist was awesome! Gentle and thorough and no tenderness. I have been with Insight Dental Group since 2008 back in the time Dr. Crabtree's was in office. But for couple of years because of my insurance I had to switch to another Dentist which I wasn't happy at all. Finally I was able to come back to Insight Group this year. So far I had crown and several filling with Dr. Mary Abdou. She is fabulous. a young and experienced Doctor that is very friendly and knowledgeable about what she is doing. Her assistant, Merlyn is very nice and caring too. We are working on my Front teeth Veneer and I can't wait to see the result. I am 100% satisfied with the service that I am receiving in this office and will recommend to any individual that is looking for a good office with a Good dentist.
