Dr. Henegar is very good and has great staff but do not recommend Hetal Patel to do the semi-annual dental cleaning. This person is a horrible dental hygienist. During my visit today, she was helping someone else and then waiting for the reception desk to tell her that my insurance covers Fluoride application. Fluoride goes at the end of the cleaning, so I do not know why she had to wait to start the cleaning. Then, she finally starts the cleaning rushing through it, mangling my gums, which were bleeding. The reception desk confirmed my insurance covers the fluoride application, and the hygienist just smeared it all over my gums instead of applying it on the teeth that I just had to spit it out. Very sloppy work!!! Do not schedule dental cleaning with Hetal. She seems to be all over the place instead of focusing on the patient and doing a careful dental cleaning. This is the worst cleaning I have had at this office. Horrible. I told the office not to schedule me again with her.

Definitely check them out. I know dentist are scary but definitely give them a chance. The staff all the way around are very friendly and helpful. They take the time to explain everything and go over everything so that you fully understand it all. They work at a steady pace and don’t try to rush it. I’ve had two fillings and a cleaning done and it has all gone well with no hiccups. My wife has also had a cleaning and two extraction done. Again dentist are scary but I’m positive you will be more comfortable here than any other dentist

I go about every 3-4 months for a periodontal cleaning and it’s always so thorough followed by laser treatment to prevent oral bacteria and fluoride treatments to prevent cavities. I highly recommend this office over any other local office in Irving area. The hygienist are extremely detail oriented.

I called Dr. Henegar office because my son had a dental emergency that neede immediate care. Dr. Henegar and his lovely staff welcomed us with open arms and squeezed us in, even though they were booked for the day. During the dental exam, Dr. Henegar throughly explained the diagnosis and treatment plan that was needed to resolve my son's pain. He needed a Root Canal immediately. Crystal was not helpful and very confused! She was unsure of many things and useless when it came to scheduling an appointment!The ladies at the front desk were nice. I was there 2 hours just for a consultation! The hygienist however, told me my tooth had no feeling so it shouldn’t be hurting when I myself feel the pain frequently. The woman who goes over your visit overall costs is extremely aggressive! I told her I did not want my credit ran and she insisted on knowing why! I will not be continuing my services elsewhere.

When working patients into the schedule who did not previously have an appointment, there can be a wait time. Dr Henegar is an awesome dentist. He actually takes the time to listen if you have any special needs or anxiety about dental work. I have issues breathing through my nose due to an accident as a child. He actually listened when I explained my issues with him. You would think all doctors would listen but at my age I can safely say that they don't and I've seen a lot. Dr Henegar has repaired several teeth, cavities, root canals, pulled one tooth, and they were ALL pain free experiences. The staff are very kind and courteous including the dental assistants and front desk staff. They took x-rays and found what they were looking for. They accepted my dental discount program, QVC Dental, which gives me deep discounts. Just Google it if you want to play less. Even less than if you also have insurance. LOL I have both but QVC allowed me to pay less.

Dr Henegar explained in detail of what was needed and also provided different options that I could choose to consider. And the best part was that he explained it all in terms I understood. I've been a patient for 12 years. This office asked me to reschedule my most recent cleaning and check up THREE times to suit them, and then cancelled it the morning of with only 45 minutes advance notice. When I called back to reschedule, they left me on hold. They make you sign and agreement that you will pay $50 if YOU cancel your appointment in under 48 hours, but THEY can do as they please with no penalty. This more than anything really demonstrates how they regard their patients. Needless to say, I will not be returning

I was looking for an emergency dentist online and had no luck finding an appointment for the same day. I was giving up, but started searching dentists near me and found Henegar Dental nearby my office. Luckily I did too, because they ended up being more than helpful. With my crazy schedule they allowed me to walk-in after work and fixed me up in no time. Honestly, I dont believe I was there much more than an hour. The establishment was very clean, the staff was very friendly, and the service was terrific. I would rate double if I could. Great experience all around and highly highly recommend!

Prior to my visit I received a text detailing COVID safety protocols that I would need to adhere to in order to complete my dental visit. It specifically noted that only the patient would be permitted unless special circumstances exist. Upon entering the lobby, I observed a group of three individuals, all adults, in the lobby. One with no mask in sight and the adult Male had his shoes off and his dirty feet actually on the office chair. After my cleaning ended I was set to have molds. Four failed attempts later, she stated I need to try this again. Still without one acceptable mold, I informed her that I could not spend any more time there and left. My experience with Henegar Dental is not what it used to be and is certainly declining. Will strongly consider whether or not I will return.

Until today, I never had anything negative to say about this dental practice. I’ve been a patient for well over 10 years. But my experience today was humiliating. My appointment was scheduled 3 months ago to come in for a cleaning which I thought was covered under my insurance. When I get there, my hygienist whom has done a great job with my teeth was not there and they had rescheduled me with a new guy. It would’ve been nice if they had called to let me know. And I could’ve decided if I still wanted to come or reschedule. Then the hygienist who they rescheduled me with seemed like a nice guy, but there was an odor coming from either his clothes or body. Which made it uncomfortable since he is leaning over you. After the cleaning was over, I go to pay and the lady at the front desk says I need to pay $100 for services today which I’ve never heard of for a regular cleaning. Then when I tell her I was not prepared to pay that today. She acts as if she wants to hold me hostage over $100 which keep in mind, I’ve given this practice thousands of dollars not only for my oral care, but my daughters, and I even referred friends and family. On top of that, I just paid them over $1,000 back in December 2020 and have never in over 10 years left that office with a balance. Some way to treat your loyal patients. The entire situation left me feeling like I was betrayed by someone close to me. As I have always respected the people in this practice and thought of them as kinda family. I don’t know what has happened to this practice. After the pandemic I noticed that they have let several great hygienist go and also the guy who I recently went to. And the front desk ladies, with the exception of one, are unprofessional and seem clueless.

An unexpected incident occurred which resulted in the extraction of a tooth. Three individuals quickly saw to my dilemma and with the utmost professionalism, I was taken care of immediately. I set up to have a regular cleaning and check up. I was told on line that my appointment was at 8:30 a.m. Someone personally called me to confirm it. When I came in they said my appointment was in the computer for 9:00 a.m. I had quite a bit of wait time. There was a lady who took me back to the room and organized some things. She was kind. She told me that my hygienist was going to a wonderful lady and told me about her. I was surprised when a Male hygienist came in to treat me. He did a great job and made me feel at ease. He checked and did a short cleaning. He was kind and professional. He told me that it would be a good idea to get a cleaning every 4 months. The dentist came in and did a very brief exam. He explained the procedure very well. I was told that I need to get a root canal and a permanent crown. I believe that the price that I was given was high. $1,126 for a root canal with crown and $891.00 for a permanent crown. with dental insurance. with out insurance it would cost $3,000 for the root canal with crown and $1,800 for the permanent crown. The check and cleaning was listed as a periodontal maintenance procedures and cost $85 with insurance and $160 without. This only includes a simple check and cleaning. The xray prices were not included. The prices for xrays were average. I believe that I was overcharged and am going to check around. The office staff were all polite. The bathroom was clean. I was given a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. I will consider using this dentist again.

On May 18, 2020 I broke a tooth. I called Henegar Dental where I have been a patient for about 5 years. I was able to schedule an appointment for May 21, 2020. I arrived at 9:15 for my 9:30 appointment. I was taken to a treatment room. Dental assistants came in and out several times and informed me the dentist would be in shortly. I waited and waited. At 11:30 the dentist finally came in and took a look and told me what needed to be done. I asked him what time it was? He told me 11:30 and I stated that I had been sitting there for 2 hours. He quickly informed me that the office “ had worked me in”. Really ????? As it turned out I was in the dental chair from 9:30am until 2:30pm. Absolutely ridiculous. I had to make another visit yesterday so they could complete what was started. I’m happy to be done with this facility. Their lack of time management is uncalled for and unacceptable. I will never return to this office for any reason.

Very Rude. They acted as if I was bothering them. I sent an email on last Monday for the Dentist. I did follow up calls with no responses. I called to mk sure they got the emails. They did. They said he would call never did. I'm being charged for a tooth that he pulled bkus he couldn't get to the other one that needed pulled. Henegar dental is amazing! I had my first cleaning there today and the staff was so helpful and professional. They answered all my questions and made me feel right at home. They also double checked one of the X-rays because there was a shadow under one of my existing fillings, when they took another one it wasn’t there any more. Many places would have just used the first X-ray as an excuse to do an unnecessary filling replacement but they only wanted to make me do what was necessary for healthy teeth

Had been going here for years and it had always been great. Doctor is great and hygienists are great! But office and billing practices need improvement. Recently was notified as I was checking out from my sons appointment that I had a balance owing from my last visit for X-rays that insurance wouldn’t cover because they were done too soon. When I asked why this was not verified before they took X-rays, I was told by the woman checking me out that it’s not their responsibility to do that. She said all they do is advise of the services. I told her that has never been the case with any dentist I’ve ever been to and if they are advising me I’m due for X-rays, I expect they are checking the timing with insurance coverage rather than just performing the service and me getting a surprise bill that could have been avoided had they waited a week later to schedule the visit. She was very rude and defensive and showed no care whatsoever. After I left, I decided this is not the type of service I want from a dentist so I called and cancelled both mine and my sons future appointments.
Ms. Lucas, I apologize for the confusion. We only do xrays based on what the doctor prescribes as necessary to detect cavities before they turn in to something much more serious. Dr. Henegar does not practice based on insurance. He practices based on best care for the patient. I do apologize for the miscommunication. Our office is reaching out to you. I love the staff here. They are professional, friendly, and good at what they do. I can't give 5 stars due to the fact they have daytime TV (eg, Ellen) playing in the room while they clean, examine, or work on your teeth. I'm not interested in it and I know sometimes the hygienist gets distracted by what's happening on TV. They should offer to turn it on or off. The last time I asked that it be turned off and then immediately felt like a jerk because I realized the hygienist was into it. This time I said nothing. No harm was done and I didn't feel nervous, but I just couldn't help wishing it was off.

Terrible bedside manner. I walked in with an infected root canal and crown that he originally did. Only offered scripts and sent me to an Endo, or pulling of tooth and or bridge. Have been in horrific pain and face swollen. Did he follow up to check on me? Heck no. Will not go back. Yes he charged me for the visit. Staff were supposed to send me estimates of additional services. Never received them. Again, will never see this dentist again. Horrible service. Update: Endo confirmed that original root canal was not done correctly. Will need a second root canal on same tooth. Stay away from Arthur Henegar.....

First started going to Dr. Henegar for my husband and my dental needs and was desperate to find a pediatric dentist for my toddler. Ended up bringing him to Dr. Henegar's office too, even though he isn't a specified "pediatric dentist", and we are SO GLAD we did! Dr. Henegar actually started out in pediatric dentistry and it shows on how he cares for my son and how he has trained his hygienists as well. Both times we have gone the hygienists have treated my toddler like a rockstar and made the appointment about him and getting him comfortable, as opposed to only talking to me as the parent and just getting the checkup/cleaning over with. The wait times are short, the staff is friendly, and they really try to make patients as comfortable as possible (considering the circumstances). Dr. Carmichael, the onsite dentist on Fridays, pulled my wisdom teeth same day when I came in with an infection. I went in at 7am, and was on my way home by 830. Part of that time was getting numb and making the decision to pull. The procedure went very quickly and really wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. You can tell he knows what he's doing and does it well. The entire staff was very professional and kind. They made sure I felt comfortable with my decision and had all the information I needed both pre and post op. Additionally, the entire staff has been very kind and accomadating with my entire treatment plan. Their dental hygienists are also great. I would definitely recommend.

I will start off by saying that I hate dentists. My last cleaning was 12-15 yrs ago because of it. I needed to go to the dentist recently and found Arthur Henegar to be very friendly and professional, Not only him,but all of his staff. He explained everything and was very gentle and patient with me. He pulled out a wisdom tooth and guess what?! no pain! I also have cleaned my teeth with his staff and it was doable. I still hate the whole idea of seeing a dentist, but if I need a dentist I'm glad that I have Arthur Henegar available.

I dont normally leave reviews, but I wanted to put this one in because of the wonderful treatment I had here. I, like many, I'm sure, not a fan of going to the dentist. I had an abscess and had to go in to have it looked at. I saw Dr. Sandhu who was SO nice and not at all judgey with her assesment of my bad tooth and the course of treatment that I was going to need. She didn't go on about the other things that I'm sure she saw that I needed done. She told me those things and said, I'd need to have them done, but that they could be done over time. There was NO pressure to have a ton of work done next week. I was put on a 1 week round of antibiotic to get rid of the infection and would need to have the tooth extracted and an implant or bridge to replace it. I requested Dr. Sandhu for the procedure, but she was unable to perform the extraction, she took the time to come and and explain to me why and that Dr. Henegar would be doing it. I got nervous...really nervous. But Dr. Henegar comes in with his pleasant and welcoming demeanor, with a smile, kind words and a FULL explanation of EXACTLY what he would be doing. So he gave me the shots to deaden my mouth and then little poke tests to make sure I couldnt feel anything and then told me that he would be just loosening the tooth, with a little back and forth movement, maybe a little pressure, but not pulling just yet...in about a minutes or maybe 90 seconds, he said, ok that's it! Blink, blink...its over???? He smiled and said, it's out! And everything looks GREAT! I didnt feel a THING and these folks are SOOOOO nice, I'll recommend them to anyone I know that needs any sort of dental work! I really like both Dr Sandhu and Dr. Henegar and their very sweet and acommodating staff! 5 stars ALL DAY!

This was my first visit to Henegar Dental. The Dental Assist Casey was my first contact. She was awesome and treated me so well. She really knew her stuff! When Dr Henegar came in for the consultation, he was very kind! I could tell right away that he had the bedside manner and extensive knowledge I was looking for. He treated me as if I had been a patient with them for years. I was never uncomfortable and never felt judged or diminished. I could tell from the start that my best interests were important to him. Staff is not friendly, Dr. Henegar was my first opinion and when he suggested that I needed 7 cavities filled, I had my doubts. I take very good care of my teeth and go to a dentist regularly. I recently moved here and was in need of a new permanent dentist for my 2 annual check-ups and cleanings. Turns out I was right and he wanted to work on 6 teeth unnecessarily...I’d like to keep my natural teeth, thank you very much. Upon a second opinion I was able to get only the work I actually needed done. On top of the extremely painful X-rays, when he tapped on an area that I felt some pain, I recoiled and asked what tooth he had just hit (because I obviously cannot see what’s going on when I’m laying in the chair during the examination) he laughed and tapped on the tooth again saying “this one” causing me to recoil again. Oh really? Yeah. Thanks for the extra dose of pain. But maybe use your words next time (with someone else, because I won’t be back) and along with this review I’m definitely going to make sure people who ask for a place to go, his name will be one that I tell people to steer away from! If I could give negative stars I would.

They are nice and do an okay job at cleaning your teeth, but that is where it stops. They are very pushy for fancy extra cleanings using lasers that aren't really needed. After a few cleanings they said I needed Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing which would cost me nearly $700 (after instance) and refused to clean my teeth until I did it, plus I would have to wait 2 months until they had an opening to do it. I received a second opinion from another dentist office and they said I have some of the best teeth for my age and there would be no reason for me to even need that, just a regular cleaning was needed, plus that quote was double the industry standard for that cleaning. I was told its not hard to create the requirements for this cleaning if you wanted to and that's what they did. They are trying to scam you and your insurance into paying money for cleanings that are not needed. Find another honest dentist.

He told me I had 8 cavities and they were all on the same teeth i had old fillings on. Went and got a second opinion and turns out I didn't have any cavities at all. My family really enjoyed going to Dr. Anthony Henegar, but there have been a few recent changes, unfortunately out of Anthony’s control, in the practice and temporary dentists have been working to fill in for him for awhile now. When I last visited in July 2017 for my cleaning like I do EVERY six months, the current temp told me that I had 7 CAVITIES. SEVEN. Then she proceeded to condescend me and made me feel stupid, and didn’t believe me when I said no, I don’t drink soda or sugary drinks. Confused as to how I could have gotten 7 cavities within the span of the last 6 months I was there, and convinced they either didn’t exist or the practice had been neglectful, I canceled my filling appointments and went to another reputable dentist in the area. He looked at my x-rays, looked at my teeth throughly and you know what he said? NO CAVITIES! He literally laughed and said my teeth were healthy. I’m not sure if Henegar’s office is scamming people or has just hired incompetent people, but I almost just got 7 fillings I didn’t need. I’m sorry to say they lost myself, and my parents as patients.

Dr. Henegar told me I had seven cavities and needed a root canal. I couldn't afford it at the time so I went to see my uncle in Missouri who is also a dentist. He was outraged that anyone would tell me I needed a root canal and that a practicing dentist would lie to a patient about having cavities! This was about a year ago and I still have no cavities. Immoral and skeezy.

Dentist visits usually creep me out, but I must admit my experience here was actually quite pleasant. Very friendly staff and Dr. Henegar was very personable. The most uncomfortable part was when the assistant was taking x-rays. Those carboard xray things they stick in your mouth seem too big and definitely are difficult to deal with. The assistant was very accommodating as she realized I was uncomfortable with those things stuck in my mouth. I eventually got them situated and the xrays turned out ok. I found it interesting that they showed me the xrays on a computer screen behind me. Pretty cool. I would recommend this dentist office to Anyone.

Former patient of three years, and while the service by the Dentist directly was great the Dental Hygienist was the worst. Always wanted to do a deep cleaning and refused to do the regular cleaning. After moving in the DFW area got a new dentist who finally did the regular cleaning with stating you do not need a deep cleaning nothing is wrong with your teeth. IF you are told to get a deep cleaning go to another dentists before you pay them $400ish depending on your insurance plan.

I am so glad I found this dentist office! I went in with terrible wisdom teeth pain and they recommended an oral surgeon and one of the hygienists even walked me over to their office. Everyone is SO nice and they are very accommodating with early appointments! Now that my wisdom teeth are removed, I am excited to visit again for better oral health.

Dr. Henegar has always done a great job taking care of my family. He even came into his office on Sunday to see my roommate. I have lived all over DFW from Rowlett to Addison to Keller and I have always made the short drive to Irving, or long depending on traffic. I would recommend Dr. Henegar and his staff to anyone wanting or needing work done.

Dr Henegar is awesome, but he needs some help. More help than just his attractive assistants... more dentists would be great. It would lower wait time and give better customer service. I've since found a dentist that actually does the cleaning while the assistants assist. Kinda makes more sense that way...

I was with Dr Henegar for last 6-7 years. I used to take 7:00 am appointment for my cleanings. That's all. When I had out of cleanings work lately, I started getting ripped. He is forcing me to buy Electronic Toothbrush and prescription drugs from him than me choosing. He was good before you moved to this new building. Customer service is getting bad. Spend time on finding different one.

The best dentist office ever!! The staff are so kind and flexible and helpful. Dr Henegar is amazing and thorough.
