I have been taking my children to Dr. Jay for many years—even before he started his own practice on Monterey. He is helpful, professional, witty and cool. My kids teeth have been very healthy with very few concerns. For every concern, such as wisdom teeth growing in and causing pain, he had a clear solution. We are especially grateful that he is level-headed. A few years ago, my son passed out while getting an x-ray. He had some non-dental related health problems. Dr. Jay called me in and we discussed the situation and came up with a good solution. Now, as my oldest is soon leaving for college, I want to give Dr. Jay my very highest praise and strongest recommendation.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. J and his practice. Our daughter's first and second dentist appointments were a breeze, she quickly took to all the friendly people who brought her balloons, stickers and a phenomenally well placed TV distracted her while her teeth were examined. She has great memories and speaks of her dentist experience very positively.

We had a great first experience at the dentist with my toddler. Dr Jay made her feel at ease right away. She loved watching Paw Patrol while getting her teeth cleaned and the balloon animal at the end of the visit. She is already excited to come back!

Our experience with Dr. Jay was lovely end-to-end. First, he welcomed my little one warmly and gave her stickers. Then, he explained every move (teeth check with a small mirror, teeth cleaning etc.) to put her at ease before starting. Then, he did the full check-up and chatted with me along the way about brushing tips and diet tips. Finally, he rewarded her with a balloon. All the while, he had cartoons playing just in case she became nervous. The receptionist was also incredibly friendly upon our entrance, and the office alerted me to move my car before 11am because it was street sweeping day! What a great experience. My little one had a blast.

At first I thought any dentist would be fine to work on kids. Dr Jay is a magician, entertainer and excellent dentist all in one. It makes my kid want to go see him, and we always both come out with a smile. Highly recommended.

There was Paw Patrol on the tv overhead so they could have removed an arm without notice. Finished the appointment with a balloon animal- so of course we can’t wait for our next cleaning!

Dr Jay is exactly what I dreamed of my daughter. She gets excited about visits weeks in advance. He’s joyful, informative, and thorough with excellent balloon animal making skills. Dr. Jay is the best. So glad to have found a skilled and caring dentist who has a great way with children and is able to communicate well with parents. Our original dentist wanted to send our daughter straight to a procedure with sedation for some cavities. Although Dr. Jay has the ability to perform the procedure with sedation, we were happy that he was willing and able to come up with a modified plan to treat the problem in a stepwise fashion and avoid the IV sedation. So far it's working! Thank you Dr. Jay. Went recently during COVID times and felt very safe . The office had adequate preprocedure screening, PPE, airfilters and ventilation and only schedule one family per time slot to avoid any crowding.

I'm a big fan of any professional service that makes my life easier and puts my kid at ease. Dr. Jay is the cream of the crop when it comes to this combo. I get text reminders for appointments, my kid gets stickers and custom balloon animals every visit, tooth advice is spot on.

Dr. Golinveaux is so gifted at what he does! He is exceptionally caring, compassionate, kind, and gentle. He knows how to connect with people, of all ages. Before my son was even a patient of his, I had called the office to ask a question about sippy cups. I was not expecting that he would get on the phone with me, but he did! And he patiently spoke with me. That was very generous as I'm sure he has a busy practice and was clearly not compensated for that time. After that experience, I had no doubts that we would go to him for dental care. We just had our first visit with him today and my toddler didn't even want to leave the office, he was having so much fun with the toys and music! Dr. Golinveaux and staff are so playful. Great!!!! This was my 21 month old daughter's first dental appointment. Environment looks clean & welcoming to kids upon opening the door with toys & books. Dentist was truly a winner! She cried but it went really well. He brushed the teeth of a toy monster with cool teeth, gave her stickers to try herself, played Peppa Pig and Baby Shark for her. Then after the appointment when she was crying (after checking her teeth) he made it up to her with more stickers a hand made doggie balloon and a flower balloon (he made them himself)? SUPER BOSS!!! Dental assistant was so sweet, kind and smiled a lot, receptionits was also friendly and efficient. My daughter is not easy to win over, but she made a friend today, and we will see him again at her next dental check up! Thank you to this awesome clinic!

Wow—Dr. Jay is a master of his craft, as evidenced by his bevy of five-star reviews. In a matter of minutes he took our 2-year-old daughter from apprehensive to totally happy and cooperative—no cajoling, threatening, or bribing needed. You can tell he’s worked hard on perfecting his rapport-building techniques over the years and it’s truly impressive to watch him “go to work.” Our daughter went from saying over and over, “I don’t want to go to the dentist,” prior to the appointment to, “Going to the dentist is fun!” immediately after the appointment. Not only does he have an amazing bedside manner with kids, but he clearly knows his pediatric dentistry as well. His office is bright, airy, full of toys, and very conveniently located with easy parking. We were absolutely thrilled with our first experience there and look forward to going back in the future!

My 3 year old loves coming here, Dr. Jay and his staff make the experience so fun for the kids while also doing very thorough job of dentistry on children (including toddlers!). We don't feel rushed, all our questions get answered, and the customer service is great. The office is easy to get to, brand new and very clean, and Dr. Jay makes children custom balloon creations after their appointments.

We found Dr. Jay and his team by researching the web and reading online recommendations, and we wish we found him sooner. We knew that finding a good pediatric dentist may mean the difference between a pleasant, successful first experience or an experience that may not be great - leaving our little ones hesitant to see a dentist in the future. It was important to find a dentist that would take good care of our children’s teeth while making the visit enjoyable. We trust Dr. Jay’s work and his advice completely. He’s done x-rays, examinations, cleanings, and filled cavities for our oldest child. He uses language that is accessible to little ones to share with them what they can expect and what he’s doing.

My son had his first dental appointment today (age 2), which I was completely nervous about. However, Dr. G & his team made the whole experience very comfortable for my son and I. The reception team was very pleasant and Dr. G met with us to review our paperwork in the waiting area since no other patients were there. This allowed my son and Dr. G to engage prior to the exam as my son played with the waiting room toys. Once we were back for the exam the dental assistant was as consistent as the other staff and engaged with my son very well. Dr. G took the time to review basic dental care and explained what to expect for the exam. He then proceeded to engage my son in a toddler friendly way and my son got through the exam is good spirits. And the icing on the cake....Dr. G made a balloon animal (dog), as a parting gift. Overall, I am very pleased with our experience and am so happy I found an excellent dentist for my son.

It was amazing, they are great with kids and very understanding with parents as well. Because of economic reasons it took longer than I thought to take my son to the dentist and by the time we did take him, my son had multiple cavities and had extensive work done, and they were very understanding and there was no judgement towards us as parents. By the end of the procedure my son woke up and he was great, as if it never happened and the recovery was amazing. I highly recommend them, they are amazing.

Wonderful pediatric dentist! My toddler loves going to see Dr Jay.

My not yet two-year-old daughter awoke on the morning of her first dentist appointment saying "go see Dr. Jay!" We were both excited to show him her teeth and I was eager for her to have a positive first experience at the dentist. Unfortunately I left deeply disappointed. I have no doubt that Dr. Jay is wonderful and I witnessed his warmth and playfulness with the children in his office. However, when my daughter became nervous (no doubt because the room triggered memories of shots & other delights of doctor visits) he was not really able to slow down & take the time to build trust with her. For example, just as she was starting to relax, leaning back in my lap for him to look at her teeth, on came the bright light in her face and she freaked-out. His solution was to lie her back onto his lap and proceed. She was beside herself. It was quite literally the opposite of what I'd envisioned. I learned from this that I should have communicated my priorities at the outset. For example, I don't really care if she gets fluoride on her teeth on day one, I care that the dentist is a place she wants to come back to. I care that she feels excited about her teeth & taking care of them. And I care that she feels safe. I realize the feedback form asked for less than 100% positive reviews to be communicated directly to the office rather than posted here, but in retrospect, I wish it had occurred to me to communicate my hopes & priorities for the first visit. Perhaps reading this will give another parent the opportunity to do so.

We are so happy with our experience at Dr. Jay's office. My son (3.5) was feeling uneasy about it today and was pretty upset right as we came in to the office. Dr. Jay encouraged him to play in the play area and made him an animal balloon. After 5 minutes he was fine and ready for his cleaning. The whole time was totally enjoyable, I can't say enough great things about these wonderful people! They are so great with kids.

Over the weekend our 1.5 year old son fell at the playground and knocked his front tooth out. First thing Monday morning we got on the phone and started calling pediatric dentists, to see if someone could see him ASAP. Dr. Jay said to bring him in immediately, and that they would make room in their schedule. This was the first bright spot in the few days of panic and fear that our son was doomed to be missing his front tooth for the rest of his childhood. After walking into a super clean and well appointed waiting room, filled with cool toys for babies and toddlers, we were brought back to meet Dr. Jay. He immediately formed a bond with our injured child, as well as his 3 year old brother. Sometimes it feels like the word “pediatric” gets tossed around loosely, and although the doctor you’re seeing may have a grasp of the pediatric field they’re in, they don’t necessarily understand children. This was absolutely not the case here. Dr. Jay has a rapport that works great for children, he also knows how to put parents at ease. Turns out, our son’s tooth didn’t get knocked out, it got knocked up into his gums and would likely grow back in 6-12 months. I am not sure which I am more amazed by, the fact that a tooth can get jammed up into a child’s gums and reroot to grow back later, or that Dr. Jay was able to get a 1.5 year old boy to sit still long enough to take several x-rays of his swollen and painful mouth. Dr. Jay is everything we would ever look for in a pediatric dentist, and in fact, we’re hoping that he will soon open his practice up to adults! :)

We followed Dr. Jay to his private practice and been seeing him for many years. He has a wonderful, very modern practice, accommodating and welcoming staff, a fun waiting room and Dr Jay's signature animal balloons! My oldest enjoys her visits and always wants to know when the next one will be (even after getting a cavity filled). Located just two blocks away from public transit (Glen Park BART and J Muni) and parking-friendly streets.

My kids love Dr Jay and they are relaxed and eager to go back again.

Dr. Jay, his office, and his office staff are wonderful! They are great with kids! The space is very clean and bright, with fun toys in the waiting room. There are TVs above the dental chairs, which are great for fidgety kids like my son, and Dr. Jay takes the time to show the kids all his tools so they aren’t nervous. When you’re done, he makes the kids a balloon animal, gives them a sticker and gives them a coin to put in their choice of toy dispenser. If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist, this is your man!

Dr jay and his team did a fantastic job with my son. He was very worried about getting a filling and dr jay helped him to calm down, explaining everything he was going to do before he did it. Afterwards he explained everything to me very clearly and answered all my questions. 5 stars!

They immediately felt comfortable and relaxed and came away from their appointment knowing what they needed to do to take better care of their teeth — and they were excited to do it! My daughter had an accident at her school where she fell and diagonally broke off what looks like 1/2 of her two front teeth. The school was able to find pieces of the tooth. Dr. Jay was able to bond one piece back and recreate the other tooth. My daughter was calm the entire time she was being seen. He has amazing skills! What a great kid's dentist!!

Had a truly wonderful experience with Dr. Jay at Golinveaux Pediatric Dentistry. Came to Dr. Jay after recommendations from moms in the community and lots of positive reviews online. They are legit -- Dr. Jay is a wonderful dentist and really has a way with kids (and their parents). My 3 year old is very cautious and was a bit nervous about going to the dentist. The visit went perfectly and I could see my son getting more and more comfortable throughout the visit. Tonight when I asked my son what is favorite part of our day was, he said "going to the dentist!" I think I'd call that a success! Also important to note is that the office is incredibly clean and professional. This is truly a top-notch practice.

It’s now 2 years later and Dr. Jay and his crew are still awesome. My kids (4 and yrs) had some cavities taken care of and they did so well. The place takes all the COVID precautions and some so I wouldn’t hesitate to make an appt. Prior Post:We found our new Pediatric dentist for our 2 boys and couldn't be happier. He was funny and the kids had were so so good with Dr. Jay and his staff. For the parents, he's very thorough and will take his time to explain things. It's close to our house across GP BART and you'll easily still find parking in the neighborhood bc it's permitted. Should definitely give this place a try if your looking for pediatric dentist.

Our 7-year-old boy just had a cavity filled and sealant applied with Dr. Jay. I entered the appointment with huge reservations — we had attempted this work at a popular kids dentist previously that ended with tears and fear — so we got in touch with Golinveaux Pediatric Dentistry. Let’s just say that Dr. Jay is a hero around our house now. The procedure went perfectly, and my son was back at school 2 hours after the appointment ended. We are still kind of shocked at how well it went. Dr Jay and his staff are both professional and genuinely interested in the comfort and care of his patients — right down to the TV with kids shows and prizes at the end. Dr. Jay is a great teacher and dentist! He showed us super helpful techniques in helping us brush our squirmy, strong-willed 18-month-old's teeth, and he let our little guy sit with us as he used his magic to examine and clean his little chompers. His fun yet gentle manner put our little guy at ease, and the stickers, little toys, and adorable whale toothbrush were a great bonus. My 3yr old sons first visit with Dr. Jay went smoothly until it came to the x-rays (he had a hard time sitting still). Unfortunately, my son had two baby cavities so we had to come back for a second visit sooner than we expected. I was very nervous but I was shocked at how well my little man did. He walked out of that office without a single tear. Dr. Jay goes the extra mile to make your child feel safe and tries his best to make each experience fun. I highly recommend.

Clean and new office, sweet staff (receptionist helped my son with homework!!! Amazing!!), and Dr. Jay is super knowledgeable AND can make fancy balloons for the kids. Both of my kids (9 and 11) went skipping out of there so happy we switched dentist offices!!

We visited Dr. Jay for my daughters first check up (3 1/2 years old) and we could not have had a better experience. I got a call back within 2 hours after making an initial inquiry which impressed me from the start. Sign up and check in were super simple as well. On the day they were welcoming and Dr. Jay put my daughter at ease right away. The appointment was super informative and whenever Sophie started to get a little afraid Dr. Jay was able to coach her through and keep her engaged. Great experience, lovely office and great team. Highly recommend.

Dr. J was absolutely wonderful with my 2 year old. He also took the time and sit and speak with us about techniques for brushing and flossing teeth so it’s fun. Nothing about the appointment felt rushed or overwhelming. His team was also incredibly kind and patient with my little monster. Thank you!

Dr. Jay saw my 4 yo and 5 yo for the first time the other day, and they had the best time. Dr. Jay was very thorough and took his time with their teeth. His demeanor is kind and his approach is skillful. Dr. Jay's office policy is liberal with stickers and toys, and Dr. Jay himself is a skillful balloon maker! Office staff is also very pleasant. Highly recommend!

Dr. Jay examined and X-rayed my very energetic and talkative 4 year old daughter with the patience of a saint. Everything that was done was communicated in layman's terms and respectfully. I would recommend Dr Jay to any parent.

Dr. Jay has a magical touch with children, and coaxed my usually very sensitive and strong willed 3 year old child into not only an exam, but cleaning and fluoride, too. He spent time making friends with her, gently introducing sensations, used child friendly language, and made her giggle. Whenever she was having trouble, he was patient, backed off, and tried a new approach. My child has a dental problem, and he was compassionate with me over the difficulty in getting good dental hygiene in a little kid. He took the time to educate me about her condition and my options for treatment. He had several worthwhile suggestion for making her care easier. Scheduling was easy and seamless. The office was clean, new, and beautiful. Bonus: there were no extra charges on top of my insurance. Did I mention he personally made her a balloon animal at the end of her visit? I would highly recommend Dr. Jay’s dental practice to anyone with kids. Update 10/2019: Did a great job with my other kid, who is a bit special needs. Knew when to back off and when to push. Talked to me like my opinion mattered. Good shared decision making. I also: balloon sword!

Dr. Jay is awesome. He made my John feel at home and he was very patient and caring with him. Although, John did not cooperate with him he wasn't scared at all. Thanks for caring about my John.

Great pediatric dentist! I took my just one year old in for his first visit and They managed to make it a fun and pleasant experience.

Dr Jay is the best! Both my eight year old and 13 year old love going there. Even the older one what ask him how many coins she is going to get at the end. Hahaha. They are so patient with both of them. Good for any age!

Great care! My child was absolutely comfortable and enjoyed going to the dentist for the first time. He all squeaky clean smiles afterwards and wanted to know when he could come back. Dr. J explained information patiently and thoroughly to me too. Highly recommend.

We would definitely recommend Dr.Jay, especially for those early toddler visits. Nicole, the receptionist is also super helpful on the phone and in person. Dr. Jay is so great with kids and has a style that makes the dentist office way less intimidating than what I remember as a kid. Our two year old was able to sit in a parent's lap instead of the big exam chair during the cleaning. He made a little game out of the parts of the exam. She walked out with prizes, stickers and a balloon animal! When we got home she asked, "Can I go again?!" He also gave great advice about how to care for kids' teeth and answered all our questions. We're so glad we found out about his office!

My girls love how Dr Jay explains everything about their teeth and listens to their feelings and concerns. He’s an amazing and caring dentist!

Our soon-to-be 1-year-old had his first visit with Dr. Jay and we couldn't be happier! While he sat with us in the waiting room getting to know Samwise, Dr. Jay took the time to answer all our questions. He took care easing Sam into the exam and showed us a good technique for cleaning Sam's teeth when he's not in the mood. Then Sam got to choose a toy for being such a good patient! We're so happy to have found Dr. Jay and look forward to Sam's future visits.

Our daughter had her first dental experience yesterday. As a toddler, she can be fearful of the unknown. Dr. Jay made the experience relaxing for everyone. Our daughter’s teeth are off to a good start!

Dr. Jay is great! He was patient and kind when treating my child, employing humor to help make the process easier. Everyone in the office was nice and helpful. The office is near to Glen Park Bart, and parking is easy.

Dr. Golinveaux and staff are absolutely amazing. My son warmed up to them right away after they turned on baby shark on the monitor and he even received a balloons personally twisted by the doctor. Everyone was kind and professionsl. I truly appreciate the positive experience and will be recommending/referring them to my friends and family.

My son had a dental emergency and we were able to see Dr. Jay right away to get his tooth fix. It was our first visit there. They were very friendly and accommodating on the phone. When I got to the office, my kids enjoyed hanging out in the waiting area playing with the toys and reading the books. Dr. Jay and his staff were very nice and kid friendly. He was detailed in his treatment plan and home care instructions. He was very approachable and personable with me and my children. My kids thought he was super nice and fun. We really left feeling reassured and happy with his care and would not hesitate to return or recommend others to him.

My son is a new patient of Dr. Jay's. Dr. Jay is a talented professional and exceptional with young kids. He is very direct in his recommendation about a treatment plan and transparent about the cost, which I greatly appreciate. I provided my dental insurance information prior to the first appointment, and he and his staff were able to advise me what was covered (and not covered by insurance), which is a huge help. He filled two cavities of a 4.5 year old in under an hour with only local anesthetic and a little nitrous oxide, with no discomfort to my child. In fact, my son wanted to continue to play at Dr. Jay's office even after his procedure was finished! We are grateful to have Dr. Jay looking after our family.

Dr. Jay finally opened his own practice in Glen Park area. It's located very close to the Glen Park Bart station and is very easy to find a parking spot if you drive. The office is very new and clean . Dr.Jay and his staffs are very polite and friendly. My daughter felt at ease when we visited. I highly recommend Dr. Jay if you are looking for a pediatric dentist who is very good with kids!

Dr. Jay takes the time to ensure our daughter is comfortable the entire visit. He’s engaging, communicative, and playful, which makes it a very warm and friendly experience. She’s always a bit shy at first, but they’re buddies by the time she leaves.

Doctor Jay and his staff are great! Dr. Jay is caring, knowledgeable and really cares that you understand what to expect with every visit. We have been with Dr. Jay for over 7 years and we love the service and care he provides our two boys!

Dr. Jay is a consummate professional, my children not only don’t mind going to the dentist, they actually enjoy it. Dr. Jay has been my kids dentist for years. His office is state of the art and super clean. His location is very conveniently located near BART, however if you drive like I do, parking has never been an issue with free street parking right in front of the office.

My kids love Dr. Jay. It is always a good experience and the kids are never afraid to go. He is very patient and good with the kids.
