This is the best initial dental visit I’ve ever had. I’m 49 yo so I’ve had a lot of dental visits. The staff was very friendly. I was seen right away. The dentist was friendly and very thorough. I get nervous whenever I see the dentist but she put me at easy. She went into detail about how to improve my dental health. Taking the time with the patient and not rushing the patient is so cool. I’m in medicine (not a dentist) and this was a wonderful experience. Definitely recommend Golden Gate Dental for quality care with a smile. Thank you guys. :)

Super friendly staff! Starting as a new patient was a breeze. They are very knowledgeable and great at explaining what my insurance would cover and what they would not. They tried to upsell my husband and I and recommended unnecessary services. When I came for a cleaning here I was told I needed three fillings, and that I should not wait more than a few months to do this. I found this strange since I hadn't had a cavity in over 10 years but made the appointment. After more reflection, I decided to get a second opinion from the dentist my family had been seeing for decades in San Mateo. The family dentist reviewed my x-rays and examined me in person and said there was only 1 (not 3!!) spots visible but that because the 1 spot was on top of an older filling, filling it would entail additional risks, and his recommendation was to monitor closely with no immediate intervention. That was over a year ago and my teeth are fine now. Long story short-- I would not recommend any procedure here without a second opinion.

Don’t come here if you want to be seen at your appointment time. I came in 2 weeks ago for a cleaning and I waited an hour in the chair just for the dentist to come in, tell me she thought I was being tended to, and then do a VERY fast cleaning that omitted any flossing. I was told to come back in 2 weeks for follow up. That was yesterday. After waiting 20 mins, I was told that the dentist was not in the office at my appointment time and asked if I wanted to go get a coffee and come back in an hour. While I understand that things happen, the 1-2 punch of the two VERY late appointments leads me to believe that this office doesn’t value its clients or their time. We could have very easily saved ourselves from this miserable experience by the front desk calling me 20 mins ahead of my appointment time to let me know that the doctor was en route but would be late. That would have given me the autonomy and the option to reschedule or come in a later, without having to waste the time spent getting there, sitting there, going back and forth with the hygienist about how I wasn’t going to wait another 35-40 mins for the dentist to arrive. When I explained that I was in the middle of my work day and had a meeting shortly (the appointment was supposed to be a 20 min one) she attempted to stall me and put me on the phone with the dentist to try and convince me to stay, at which point the dentist then told me it wasn’t a necessary appointment. Cool, thanks. It was necessary when you told me to come back in 2 weeks but not necessary enough for you to be there for it. All of this to say…. A phone call and a smidge of costumer service would be saved us all from this headache and from this review. While other people have had great experiences my personal one here has been truly sub-par.

I had the most horrendous experience with this so-called dentist! If I could give them zero stars, I would. They completely butchered my teeth, and I had to endure endless agony because of their incompetence. First of all, the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment I walked in. They barely acknowledged my presence and made me wait for what felt like an eternity in a dirty and outdated waiting room. I should have known then that this was going to be a nightmare. When I finally got into the dentist's chair, it only got worse. The dentist seemed more interested in chatting with the assistant about their weekend plans than actually examining my teeth. They barely explained what they were doing, and it felt like they were rushing through the procedure. The real nightmare began after the so-called "treatment." My teeth looked worse than they did before! I had pain that was excruciating, and it lasted for days. I couldn't eat or sleep properly, and I had to take multiple days off work because of this disaster. I had to go back to this wretched place multiple times to get the mess they created fixed, and each visit was just as terrible as the first. It's clear that this dentist has no idea what they're doing and is only interested in taking my money. Save yourself the pain, both physically and mentally, and stay far away from this dentist. They are a disgrace to the profession, and I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. Avoid at all costs!

Great practice!! I just completed my initial visit to establish care. Was able to sched initial appt within a month & 2nd appt for filling within 3 weeks. And they are open on the weekend!! Staff were all pleasant. Dentist is clearly knowledgeable & excellent “bedside manner.” Seems like an honest practice— I did not at all get that ‘used car salesman‘ feeling— technology seemed up-to-date (but what do I know?) but they did not try to sell me on fancy extra— and unnecessary— technology ( we’ve all been to one of those practices). I should say that coming from a totally overbooked practice at a local academic medical center where it takes literally 6 mo. to get an appt & then day-of they cancel bc for some reason the doctor is not in the office, I did not expect much; however, the experience went beyond any expectation I could have had. my husband also goes here and has had a great experience as well. Highly recommend!!

I went as a new patient for a cleaning. Dr Spies is awesome! I liked that she explained what she was doing every step of the way clearly, and the cleaning she performed was the most comfortable (least painful) cleaning that I’ve done. The receptionists are also very clear in explaining to me the insurance coverage I have and the work that can be done.

I’ve had many bad dental experiences (both unnecessary and bad work) before so am always weary trying out a new dentist. However, it was so easy to book an appointment (Zocdoc), they made sure I was approved and had the right forms filled out, and the dentist I saw (Dr. Young) was fantastic. He had a really great bedside manner, addressed my concerns, and was able to fix them the same day. Would recommend!

Dr. Komissarova and Golden Gate Dental have changed the way that I feel about my smile. I was referred to Golden Gate Dental via my orthodontist after my previous dentist sold their practice. I was in the middle of doing Invisalign and was considering cosmetic work after that so I went in for a consult. I could tell very quickly that Dr. Komissarova knows exactly what she is doing. In consults with other dentists at other practices, I was left feeling a bit unsure of what the steps would look like and if this would be the right dentist to do it - with Dr. Komissarova, I was sure this was the right choice. Moreover, of the other practices I got quotes from, Golden Gate Dental’s quote was the most affordable. Throughout multiple procedures, I was impressed with how professional (laid out steps clearly), thoughtful (told me her opinions and my options) and flexible (had me come in several times throughout the process to make small changes or fixes) she was. I cannot emphasize how happy I am with the outcome working with this team - it has truly been life changing. My experience was so good, that I very quickly switched over to Golden Gate Dental and Dr. Komissarova as my primary dentist going forward. If you’re thinking of making changes to your smile, especially as a young adult, I cannot recommend this practice enough - thank you!

I had such a positive experience, doing a dental check up & cleaning and a cavity filling with Dr.Young. He was gentle and made sure I understood every step of the process. Also for the office, the scheduling process was straightforward, and I was led to the office room immediately after arrival to the office. The only caveat is the parking -- it can be difficult to park around weekends since the office is right by GGP. There's no 'ample parking' as the website suggests, but that's just San Francisco.

It’s so hard to find a dentist you don’t dread seeing, but Dr. Natalya is that dentist. She and the entire staff at Golden Gate Dental are always so friendly, thorough and professional. Importantly, they do their job well. Dr. Natalya has never convinced me to get procedures I don’t need, nor have I left her office with more problems than I came in with. I trust her with my oral health, and I appreciate the TV stocked with movies to help distract me from the general discomfort of being in the dentist’s chair! I was so nervous to have my mouth open and exposed after 9 months of masking up and social distancing. But the team has taken all the precautions with air filters in the room, PPE, and and a suction machine to suck up ant vapor while they clean. Thanks for taking good care!

I had visions of what that would be like, and thought it must be an extremely painful process, as the name suggests even though she had assured me otherwise. And she was right. It was a good experience starting with admin Sona, wait time and check in procedures were good. Dr Sosa was attentive to the work on my implant and created a temporary crown. Additionally Dr Sosa modified my bite guard to accommodate my crown which was much appreciated. Overall it was a great experience.

GG Dental and doctor Sosis have been treating our family for about 8 years and we always had great experience. Today I had to get emergency treatment. Doctor Sosis or doctor Natalya were not available and I met doctor Yang for the first time. My tooth was in a lot of pain for 2-3 days. Golden Gate Dental called me back first and we're wbke to squeeze me in. They confirmed I had an infection and gave me a quick referral and anti-biotics. The office was super clean and was upscale. The chair in which I sat had a built massage settings, so that was a bonus. Ended up having a tooth extraction and no matter who it is, there will be a certain level of pain afterwards. This is normal. I should know as it's my third one. Got stitches and bone graft, and some pain meds, and waited about 2 weeks for things to heal up. The day after I got that procedure done I got a phone call from Sonya to make sure I was doing ok. Follow up visit was all positive. Stitches came out ( a near religious experience ?) and all was healed as it should be. Got my teeth all cleaned up while I was there and made a follow up appointment to get a bridge done. These guys do care a lot about their patients. I would recommend them...and that's coming from a guy scared of going to the dentist.

Best dentists I've ever had! On top of top-of-the-line equipment they have massage chairs and a large selection of movies they let you choose while you get cleanings. I literally sat in a massage chair watching Blade Runner 2049 while getting a cleaning today. And strictly as dentists they are very knowledgable and gentle. I couldn't rate this place high enough!

They shouldn’t indicate themselves as providing emergency dental services. What they really mean is, if they have time in between appointments, they will take you. Good luck on the weekend when everyone schedules their appointments. I took my boyfriend there and he was in so much pain from a surfing accident, and they couldn’t have cared less. Golden gate dental, please update your website to avoid letting people down, especially when they need you.

Great experience. I really liked their setup here. The dentist is the one who cleans your teeth, not a hygienist like most other places! They also have a TV to distract you a little from their work. Seems a little bit more expensive than I've paid in the past, but that's to be expected in this City. Their dental equipment also seemed more modern than other dentists I have used.

Dental offices are always hit and miss. Many of them are in small offices with old equipment and antiquated design. Dr. Inessa Sosis’s office is the utmost opposite of most. Big open layout, bright airy design. The place is run extremely efficiently, but at the same time the staff is very friendly and after a while knows everyone as a first name basis. Dr. Sosis is one of the friendliest individuals you will meet. She is also one of the most straightforward dentists you will meet, will easily answer your questions and give you explanations if you want! Thanks Dr. Sosis for providing excellent care!
