My previous experiences ranged from retirement of my dentist to billing issues or lack of confidence in their care. However, my luck changed when I discovered Dr. Joseph. Since meeting Dr. Joseph in January, I've undergone a whirlwind of dental work. He responded immediately to a terrible accident where I lost three front veneers and addressed a chronic issue from a bad crown on one of my molars. For the first time in years, I am free of dental pain and genuinely happy with my smile. What truly sets Dr. Joseph apart is the exceptional care he provides. He is the kindest, most patient dentist I have ever had. He listens attentively to your concerns and takes the time to explain and discuss every aspect of your treatment. I HATE going to the dentist, but… Dr. Joseph’s office is the best dental office I’ve experienced in my 50 years of life! Whether it is communicating with Fabian for appointments and scheduling, having Katrina or Nubia for cleanings, or seeing Dr. Joseph for his dental expertise. I’ve struggled with finding the right dentist for me my entire life and have finally found a place where I feel at home. Just went in for a root planing today and Katrina read me right away and immediately took corrective steps which made the entire experience a breeze. You rock Katrina! They also seem to have their hearts in the place. My dental issues require fairly frequent visits their office. Last summer I was told that they weren’t available the week I originally wanted. It turns out the entire office took a trip to Jamaica to do pro bono dental work for folks that would otherwise continue suffering indefinitely… Epic! We don’t just need more dentists in the world like this, we need more people like this in the world. They have managed to provide a service that expertly manages both competence and compassion. And it shows! If you’re looking for a competent, compassionate, and non-judgmental dental operation, you should consider this place SF ❤️ Lee

I initially left a 5 star review, but I had to lower it. Dr Joseph recommended a deep cleaning on all my teeth because he found I had periodontitis (~$1400 out of pocket). I got a second opinion from another dentist. She found my gums to be in great health and recommended no treatment. I will still give this office 2 stars because they did a great job installing a crown. But, who knows, maybe the crown wasn’t necessary to begin with. All I had was a slightly chipped molar. It cost $1500 out of pocket. My advice: assume you will be upsold and approach cautiously.

Worst is after this price, I had to go to another dentist to fix the 2 fillings and my bite as he forgot to adjust the fillings so that they fit my bite. Dr. Joseph just wants your money and has no interest in basic dentistry. He just wants to sell Invisalign.

I have been going to Dr. Joseph after Dr. Petrini sold the practice. I initially started going this location as far back as the 80’s. Even though I travel from Antioch, I will continue to travel all the way into the city even though I have to get up very early as I like my appt at 7:30 AM. I know many times there is the commute traffic (I will only drive, my choice) but I will deal with it because everyone is so friendly and very professional! Everyone is awesome. Travel nurse, limited time, went in for a consult on whether to get Invisalign or veneers on my front teeth since shifting from grinding over a few years causing a gap next to my front teeth. I wanted to know what was quickest vs best plan, as well as weighing in the cost of the options. The staff was very kind and patient in doing my scans and X-rays; and the doctor was very thorough and honest in his treatment options. I chose the 4 veneer option. Knowing I was leaving the state in 2 weeks, it would be the most efficient way to fix the issue and long term wear a retainer for prevention. They got started the same day, and the doctor free handed my temporaries to fill my gap, which is a tribute to his artistic capabilities, knowing the process was basically on steroids… or fast track… 2 weeks later got right back In- temporaries off- and the permanent veneers are so beautiful! They look so incredibly amazing! I couldn’t be happier! I would recommend his practice to anyone! A huge Thank you to Dr Joseph and his staff for making me feel normal again, and giving me back my ability to smile♥️

We've been with our previous dental office more than 15 years and recently we relocate to SF and decide to follow our dentist long term friend's suggestion to try DSF and it's like "wow". I wish I know DSF earlier. My hygienist is Katrina and my husband's Hygienist is Nubia. So far we've been with DSF 1 year, and decided to stay. I can't believe I watched a Netflix movie during deep cleaning, and Katrina is so professional and gentle I ended up enjoy my movie and deep cleaning experience very much. Both me and my husband plus our dentist friend all love Dr. Joseph very much, he's very professional. humble. skillful and caring. And I love get all my questions answered by text message with Fabian, at first I thought I am talking to an auto generated application because it's so fast when some link is not functional or questions about my insurance. Fabian solve my problem with text right a way. Don't want to keep this secret to myself. I think we found the best dental office by following our dentist friend to the dental office she use.

Let me start by saying all my life, I have been scared to visit the dentist due to some bad experiences and my overall insecurity of my teeth, which led to me neglecting my teeth for as long as I can remember. I knew I had to do something about it eventually and finally made the decision to start my transformation. After careful and diligent search, I found Dr. Joseph in San Francisco. His work speaks for itself and he has awards to back it up. Everything I read about him was solid so I figured I give him a try. From the appointment signup process and the initial call, I immediately knew this was going to be great. His office manager Fabian took the time to get to understand my personal needs and wants before even stepping foot inside the office to ensure I had a great experience. Upon my first visit I was welcome by the team and immediately felt at ease. Everything is clean and feels fresh. I started visiting during the peak of the pandemic and they did everything to ensure my safety and the safety of those in the office, which includes staff vaccinations, proper ventilation, PPE, Covid tests for the patients and proof of vaccination status. Everything is on point! Dr. Joseph was so easy going and really focused on my comfort. I couldn’t have been more relaxed. His team, Lihn and Katrina are simply the best. When Katrina did my cleaning, she did my entire dental cleaning by hand, no machine. And It felt great. Zero pain or discomfort. She provided me blackout glasses and headphones to listen to some music and by the time i knew it, it was over. She has a magic touch and is very gentle. Lihn goes out her way to support and make sure you have everything you need without asking. I am forever grateful to Dr. Joseph. His attention to detail, empathy and overall genuine care for his patients is truly unmatched. I’m happy to say I’m well into my procedure and I’m almost done with my Invisalign treatment. I went from being scared of the dentist to looking forward to my regular cleanings. He is literally the best of the best and so is his team. Do yourself a favor and make your appointment with Dr. Joseph. It’s life changing to have a nice smile and you won’t regret it. I've been going to this office since Dr. Petrini owned the practice. Years and years! The staff are wonderful, and they've always treated me the very best. I had awful dental hygiene as a child and they were able to make a lot of corrections. They're also always very informative and have helped me to improve my daily hygiene, and really my quality of life. No joke! Oral health affects overall health. And it makes a world of difference to not have a mouthful of cavities. They also checked my blood pressure today which is incredible! They care about the whole person, not just the mouth.

The coordinator, Fabián, was super responsive and helpful with all my questions and working with my schedule and switch if insurances. The hygienist and assistant were friendly and made sure to make the experience as comfortable as possible (in fact, I’ve never been to a dentist appointment where the whole staff was so focused on making sure the experience was comfortable). Dr. Joseph did a great job, not only fitting in multiple fillings in one day so that it worked better for my schedule, but also making sure they were comfortable and fit my bite. The advent of Covid has caused me to work from home, but I still choose to come to downtown to Dr. Joseph’s office for my regular checkups and cleanings because of his wonderful staff. Fabian at the front desk always makes sure that your appointment is in order, and all the dental hygienists working hard at the back make sure to give you all the information and tools you need to take care of your teeth back home. The office is very clean, everyone that will go near your face dons full PPE, and they even have Netflix and wireless headsets for you as you’re getting your teeth cleaned. Give Dr. Joseph a try and you might stick with him too.

I went into my appointment very nervous. As I arrived I was immediately put at ease as I spoke to the receptionist and the dentist himself. Everything was clean and the staff here are amazing. Dr. Joseph requires that you bring the results of your covid test taken in the last 72 hours or will give you a test at the office before even starting any procedure. I recently visited Dentistry of San Francisco, Dr Joseph on 07/29/20 for a routine cleaning appointment. They got back to work after the pandemic hit as soon as they could, with all the safety precautions and appropriate equipment. My experience there surpassed my expectations. Although you should expect the entire visit to lengthen by as much as half an hour. That allows time for a patient temperature check, a rapid antibody test if you haven’t taken a Covid test before the appointment and a one minute mouth rinse with a hydrogen peroxide based rinse before the procedure. The most visible difference was the additional (PPE) worn by everyone involved at the dentist’s office. I felt very safe and secure during my whole visit. The staff are skilled, caring and wonderful to work with.

This is hands down the most honest and reliable dentist I have ever worked with in the Bay. I highly recommend Dr. Joesph and his staff to anyone and especially ones that have had terrible history with dental work. I had my teeth knocked out by a horse when I was very young and have had to do many followup surgeries throughout the years in order to compensate for the damage. Because of this, I have a huge fear of dentists and quite literally would fly thousands of miles to a dentist who knew my history and background and one I was comfortable enough with that I wouldn't have anxiety attacks. I was recommended to Dr. Joseph through a friend who also had the same issues and I haven't looked back since. They are incredibly attentive, informative, and understanding in every way. The new updated tooling equipment that sucks up micro vapors that has 4 stage with UV light filtering . I felt so safe and totally comfortable and safe. Prior to the teeth cleaning , they took my temperature, and gave me a COVID test .to determine if I had it and if I carried the Anti-bodies. I had an emergency....a toothache! and I called the telephone number related to Dr. Petrini. Dr. Joseph took over his practice and agree to see me immediately. He diagnosed my toothache as a gum problem and not a root or nerve. I received some deep pocket probe; Mini cleaning and the ache was gone! thank you Dr. Joseph. Excellent. I'm returning to have some other work done due to his expertise. He's very thorough and also very pleasant and gave me some good advice on brushing and how to keep the plaque away.
