My experience with the dentist here were great..but the younger female dental assistant with huge, hideous eyelashes was so rude and had attitude always She would make rude comments roll her eyes acted like she hated her job really made me uncomfortable here she would talk shit in the halls..that’s why me and 3 family members will be finding a new dentist It really sucks because the dentist here are fairly good but that one assistant is horrible. Management should look into her because you’re losing clients over one bad dental assistant.

I just wanted to take a moment to share how amazing the male dental assistant was. He was extremely professional, patient, and made sure I felt comfortable throughout my entire visit. He explained everything clearly and checked in on me multiple times to make sure I was okay. You can really tell he cares about his patients and takes pride in his work. Awful customer service! Our first visit took my daughter & the female dental assistant had attitude from the beginning rolling her eyes at my 10 year old when she heard that “the mom” wanted to be in the room for the exam and she quickly rushed me out of the room when the Dr left so I can wait in the waiting room for her while she did the cleaning. She scolded my daughter to keep her mouth open didn't floss her teeth which I find weird being a “dental cleaning” dropped an instrument on her shoulder, poked her mouth hard and my daughter telling her owe didn’t say nothing made my daughter feel very uncomfortable and not safe being alone with her & didn’t polish all the stains out, my daughter never wants to go back to that office when she usually enjoys dental visits. Never recommend taking children to this office if the assistant not happy with her job she shouldn’t be working in that office. I’m surprised no office manager or Dr have notice this assistant actions and attitude towards the patients especially children. Lesson learned don’t let your child be alone without a parent in the room. Never again !

I would avoid this place. I contacted them to set up an appointment and they asked for my medi-cal ID number, which I don't know, but what I do know is that this information could be very easily accessed by them just with my date of birth then the guy tells me I have to bring this card with me and it's like I've never had a doctor or a dentist require that I'm good

I had Thousands of dollars of dental work done 2 years and one of my Bridges fell off. They refused to warranty the work. There is no damage to the Bridge at all. Horrible customer service!

This is for the dental hygienist, Eli. He is phenomenal!! Eli is very gentle and informative. I have a deviated septum and it’s hard to breathe through my nose at times but, he is very patient. I also have sensitive gums and he was very conscientious. I felt no pain at all. I had questions about dry mouth and teeth whitening and he gave me suggestions that would work best for me. 10 STARS for this guy!!

It would have been 5 stars back in 2021, but now, not so much. These stars have to be earned! When I first started coming to this dentist several years ago, the dentist that I had was awesome! I loved coming here because for the first time in my life, this dental office was able to get procedures approved through my insurance that other providers would not take the time to do. I had A LOT that needed to be done, so I was very grateful and happy about that! However, that dentist left and then I got stuck with the owner. When I say that I got stuck, it's because all of my procedures then turned into taking over 7 months to just get a few root canals done and the rest of the things done that had already been started. He was constantly canceling appointments at the last minute Often on the same day while I was in the car on my way to the office! It was so unprofessional that I just couldn't believe that I was actually dealing with the owner of this practice that I had grown to love so much. Plus, I had referred tons of people to this place. I was so disappointed! They went from being open 5 days a week to now being open sometimes 2-3 days a week. Basically whenever he felt like working it seemed to me. On top of that, the work he did was not that good. He drilled on some of my other teeth on accident and I did not notice until I was home because my mouth was numb. All of this from the owner! When I found out that a new dentist would be starting there, of course I jumped on that one! He does really quick work, that part is great! However, I have had 5 teeth that were root canals that he worked on that have broken off after he did them. I don't know if it's because of something that he did, I did, or what. It seems kind of weird to me for sure. When asking about crown approvals, it seams like the office tells me that they are taking a long time to get approved even when my insurance is telling me that they are already approved. I don't know if they just don't want to hurry up and do the work or if it's a lack of communication. I am just tired of going to the dentist and want to be done with it! I have been working on my dental plan since 2021 and it should already be done with!

This office uses Bait and Switch tactic's. I was quoted $100 for a teeth cleaning, then when I came in to the office for the visit, they said that the price quoted was just for x-rays and initial exam, and that the cleaning would cost anywhere from $90 to $1400. Find a dentist that doesn’t bait and switch you like this office does.

It's so nice to call and schedule an appointment for my daughter and have her seen within just a few days. Or old dentist would take minimum of 2-3 months before they were available. This dentist was both attentive, gentle, and had a Sense of humor, which my daughter- who is nervous about seeing the dentist- really appreciated. My wife is terrified of the dentist & needed a root canal. Dr. Gustavo took his time with her, gently explained everything to ease her fears & did a wonderful job on her tooth. I highly recommend him, he was wonderful for my scaredy cat wife that waited until the last minute & the tooth was too painful to ignore anymore before she made the appointment to see him.

Definitely a dental office for lower income families That said, they do a really good job given their position. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The hygienists answer all my questions and do a good job I've never had any issues with them.

Nice office, the receptionist was easy to talk to ? said go ahead and have a seat the dentist will be with you shortly! After a few minutes, the dentist attendant, called my name and showed me where to go, she was so nice, and where to sit, while waiting for the dentist? after a few minutes the dentist arrived, he explained what he needed to do. Tooth extraction, I was a little nervous at first the he numb my mouth had to wait a few minutes to take effect, then he proceeded with the tooth extraction, wow no pain at all! He was vary professional about it.Thanks again! Two thumbs up ??

Had a very good experience at this dental office when an old crown came off. They are working with my insurance to get me the best deal for a new crown, as the old one was damaged beyond repair and could not be re-seated. They are always kind, gentle and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend their office. Am going in for my 6 month cleaning on Friday, and that has always been painlessly administered.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I got in right away for my teeth cleaning and it was painless. Sometimes I dread it because of the sharp little instrument they used to clean the teeth with but the cleaning was very gentle. They answered questions that I had about other services that they didn’t offer, and we are above and beyond to write down some things for me! I would recommend this office.

My sister actually referred me to this Ventura location. I haven't had the best treatment at other dental offices in the past so I was looking for a new place with excellent care. I am so glad I found Channel Islands Family Dental Office Ventura they have met my expectations above & beyond. The staff is wonderful they are all so respectful & nice they make you feel comfortable & relaxed. Perla has been great with keeping up with getting all of my paperwork submitted to insurance. Approval has been fast and they are very quick with getting your next appointment scheduled & @ times that work best with your schedule thats a huge plus for me. It's been an amazing experience working with Dr. Nicholas Young he is the best dentist I've seen in a very long time. I plan to continue coming here as long as I can receive treatment from him. I trust him and know he's doing the best he can to do for the job that needs to be done and he cares about his work & patients. I absolutely recommend this office for emergency dental work and all general dental care. I've actually had my daughter's records transfered here as she will start getting her dental work done at this office location too and I'm going to look into the orthodontist they work with for my son. I'm putting my trust into this practice to care for my family's dental needs. I was complaining about soreness around my lower Molars, so my Wife was super thrilled to refer me to CI Family Dental. She got like $25 gift card for that! My quick story is, I hadn't been to a Dentist in 6 yrs, because I hate Dentist visits, and brush my teeth often. This aching in my molars required me to go to the dentist though. Dr. Rupen DerBoghosian is a keeper! I have followed my step-mom for years as she is a fantastic hygentist. However, I recently moved to Ventura and had to find a new dentist on my own. I tried Western Dental, but it was the worst. They would make me wait for hours and forget about your timely appointed presence, perform procedures before checking with my insurance and then charge me $400 for a cleaning after the fact...and here is the kicker...I learned that they got busted by the Health Department for disposing of bloody rags in the ally. Gross! Then came my lucky day when I discovered Channel Islands Family Dental. They are professional, timely, clean and painless. Dr. Rupen has a great sense of humor too. I highly recommend them!
