I stopped going to this dentist because they tried to force unnecessary procedures on me. On my first visit they told me I needed to come back to have multiple cavities filled. I stated that I preferred to monitor rather than fill them. (Since they were small and nowhere near the root.) On the next visit they again told me the same thing and that I needed a root canal. I again said I preferred to monitor, and they made me sign a document stating that I was refusing to follow their recommendations. Fast forward one year later to today, when I visited a new dentist. No root canal needed. My new dentist also advised that no action was needed for my cavities and we should just monitor them. Shame on Folsom Street Dental. If they haven’t received any disciplinary action for their improper and unethical practices, they should.

I had a 5 star review before, and this is why they lost two star. I had two fillings appointment and one was great, the other not so much. I was feeling pain like if there was still some space bacteria could enter my tooth. I explained to them and they said “it could just be sensitive tooth”. Well it wasn’t. Turns out they didn’t properly filled it and it turned into a bigger mess as it turned into a deep cavity so I had to make another appointment, again. Fast forward I get it done and is okay, it feels properly done now. This is where the problem comes. They expected me to pay an extra $150 because “this procedure was not covered by your insurance because you already used all your cover”!!! Like I don’t understand why I was still getting charged $150 AFTER the refund for the first tooth fill($240 total!!). I feel like they could’ve talk with the insurance about their mistake and to void the first fill, but they hustled and charged me the extra $150 and since I was already in the office I had nothing else but accept it. I appreciate how welcoming the place feels, but is very frustrating that when it comes to money talk then is you vs them. I am still going to be a patient here, but if something bad happens again I will update this review as a reminder.

I pondered for a few days before deciding to write this review. I came in to change out my front two teeth fillings and fix a chip in my tooth. My last trigger resulted in this review… well, my chip tooth fillings FELL OUT AFTER 3 DAYS! Wait time: waited for 45 mins to be seen Bedside manners: dentist was super cold, immediately went in for the numbing that hurt so much. The most painful I’ve ever felt, the numbing went all the way up my mid nose. When she was done, she didn’t even said a formal “we’re done”. I was confused. I had mentioned my TMJ issues in my consultation and not once during the 45 mins procedure did she ask if I was ok or needed a rest Quality of care: their control of water is OUT OF CONTROL. At one point, I thought I was having a full on facial. They don’t bother to help me wipe my face or my neck! The water sprayed ALL THE WAY to my forehead for a good minute. Clearly, this happens all the time so they weren’t fazed by the water fountain action. Oh and I did mention the tooth chip filling came off! I know they are busy and I know we are just a number or cheque, that’s ok too cos many patients may not care about such conditions. But I’m writing this review for those who may care about the quality of service and care. I know there are many of us with dental anxiety, so sadly this will not be your place and this is my honest review.

My treatment was professional, everything was clearly explained to me, I received all the required documentation so I didn’t have any problems with insurance back at home. This was the worst dentist office I have ever visited. The office is dirty and equipment is very outdated. I also watched the Xray tech touch equipment with a gloved hand and not wipe it down. I was the only patient there and it took 1.5 hours for my appointment. The cleaning itself was extremely sub-par, and it was clear the dentist did not know how to professionally provide a clinical summary to a patient and even questioned her own review of my X-rays. There was obvious tension between the dentist and hygienist that made it very awkward as a patient. Overall this dentist office was awful and I will not return. I don’t understand the multiple 5star reviews for this facility.

I stopped coming to this office because every visit was a mess. The staff always seemed confused about what treatment I needed and how to perform it, like they’d never done it before. One time, I waited over an hour because Dr. Singh arrived at the office late, and she didn’t even apologize. Something always went wrong whenever I came here, and I finally got so fed up that I switched to another dentist. On top of all that, Dr. Singh only works 1-2 days a week. If you need to see her, you’re forced to fit into her limited schedule. This is especially frustrating if you’re doing Invisalign or any other treatment that requires frequent visits. I would not recommend this office, especially if you’re considering starting Invisalign here. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

After discussing it with the Dentist they were only willing to do half, and i only got a half quote, not a full quote. The dentist was nice, but i left unsatisfied. I really didn't get what i wanted. If your request is specific, you might want to choose another dental office.

The good: staff was friendly, it was quick, and they didn't push things I don't need. The bad: I explicitly asked if my X-rays would be covered. They said they checked and it would be. Then later they send me a $91 invoice for an X-ray not covered. Also their equipment is older. My previous dentist has newer equipment that made the experience more pleasant.

Caution: that the dentist I saw attempted to inflict additional procedures that were not necessary and would have negatively effected the health of my teeth. I went in for a standard cleaning and routine x-ray's. The dentist I saw said that I needed a cavity replacement which would result in a root canal. Luckily, I am familiar with interpreting dental reading x-rays and wasn't seeing the problem she was seeing. I requested the x-rays to get a second opinion but it took over a month for to receive. I had to call two separate times to remind them to send me my x-rays. I scheduled an appointment with my previous dentist (Ingleside Dental SF) and asked for them email me a copy of my x-rays they. Ingleside Dental emailed my the x-rays within 15 minutes of getting after the call. I scheduled a second opinion with Ingleside and we looked at the x-rays together. The dentist said there was minimal degradation of the cavity over the past 2 years and that I did not need a cavity replacement or a root canal. Phew.

Deeply Disappointed barely scratches the surface. After finding them through my dental insurance network, initially, I was impressed that someone called me back on Sunday, yesterday. After explaining my dental situation, that a filling has broken and I'm in pain, I was later offered an appointment for today, Monday, May 20 at 1. I replied accepting the time but I got no final confirmation. Before starting out to the appointment today, I emailed around 11 giving a heads-up that I am hoping my 1pm appointment is all set and that I was on my way via mass transit. I arrived at 10mins before 1 only to finally be seen at 1:30pm. After explaining my tooth pain I asked if the standard cleaning could be done after the broken filling is fixed and I was told yes. Well, after several x-rays and a visual exam by the dentist, she told me that I need a root canal and that there may be an infection! She then handed me a slip of paper directing me to "call them to make an appointment." I asked if there's a way she or Fulton Street Dental could call or email them to give them my x-rays and insurance information & to let them know my condition and that I'm in pain. She said, "oh. ok, if you want, we can." How does a "dr" tell a patient who is IN PAIN that he may have an infection but give no medication and do nothing to see IF you can get him treated as soon as possible?

Every time I wanna give this place the benefit of the doubt, THEY NEVER FAIL TO DISAPPOINT ME. It’s currently 4am and I am in sharp throbbing pain from my oral surgery done at this office 6 days ago…. I am still waiting on my accurate prescription!! The first round of oral surgery I had with them ( Middle of August ) I was very clear I have not been to the dentist in a while and was clear I needed guidance on the whole process, as I never had surgery in general. They gave me brief little to nothing answers. For the first round , I had to call them 2 times of two separate days to send my prescription to CVS ( where CVS confirmed Folsom Street Dental never called it in ) Luckily, I was on top it and kept reminding them to send my prescription prior to my surgery and it was finally ready the day before my surgery. Now this was my second and final round of surgery. Doctor Gaurav told me he called in prescription request the day of my surgery ( Sunday, October 1st ) . Since I already had a little bit of leftovers from my first round, I had no problem waiting for my prescription and used the rest of my first fill. It is Saturday, October 7th and have yet to got my prescription ready. On October 6th I had to call at 10 am to check about the update because now I have ran out but is still in pain and sore. Erica answered and although was very helpful, informed me that they barely did it right then and there, “what pharmacy do you want it sent to?” Disappointed, but ok. Now 6:45pm on October 6th, I had no update on my prescription and decided to call the office again before they closed at 7. This time Monica answered and again, very helpful, but said it just got called in. So 3 different people 3 different times this office has told me they called it, but failed to actually do it and failed to send the proper prescription. Since it’s 4am and I’m in severe pain I just checked CVS and the team of Folsom Street Dental didn’t even call in all the medications I needed, just the antibiotic one and not the pain relief one, come on ! Luckily I think I requested a refill with CVS? But as I mentioned, this is my first surgery so if I was suppose to refill on my own, I certainly was not told so. Especially when 3 different people from their team told me they called it! I went back to work today and have been using over the counter and today I managed because of my distractions at work but slowly had my pain come and go. Now it’s 4am and I can’t sleep because of my throbbing pain. What’s worse, they sent me the wrong invoice I requested for. Every. Single. Request. I have acquired to their team, never came back effectively ! Don’t even get me started on the miscommunication we had with the office and my insurance. I paid for both rounds of surgery on the first time around and when I came back for the second round, they told me I still owed because my insurance waived what they initially paid for (Granted, I cannot fully blame Folsom Street Dental because it’s also my insurance, but the fact I was told about this the day of my second round and not prior caused me to reschedule because I couldn’t afford it/ wasn’t expecting to drop another nearly $1000 bill ! ) Overall, Dr. Guarav was a pleasant doctor to have in terms of the procedure itself. (Which is literally the only thing I’m grateful for about this whole experience). But the dental assistants they had couldn’t get my x rays right, even took x rays of the wrong side of the teeth even after I told them which side was hurting, and the office team were nice but 100000% inefficient making this whole experience frustrating, embarrassing, vulnerable, and overall disappointing . My tip if you go there, leave some sticky notes around so they don’t forget about you and the services they told you they were gonna do. Their team was so nice and all so I hate to leave a harsh review but I can’t help but notice how horribly inconsistent and inconvenient they are!!! And I can’t help but have time to write this since I can’t sleep due to the pain that could’ve been prevented!!

DON’T come here if you want quality, timely, and honest care. My general cleaning appointment was 2hr behind to finally start my cleaning. I just had to wait it out and there was no proactive attempt from the office to improve my experience. The only person who deserves a high review was the lady who took my X-rays; she was very apologetic and kind. When I finally saw the dentist we didn’t even have time to finish my cleaning because it was almost their closing time - we cleaned half of my mouth. The dentist said I had 2 cavities but I had other expert medical opinion and confirmed they were NOT cavities but just from wear and tear (haven’t had cavities in >15yr). They also said I needed a deep cleaning for the top half of my mouth that was also deemed unnecessary by other medical experts. I found the front desk woman condescending and fake polite to other patients who were confused about their care and next steps. Quite dismissive. When I was trying to schedule a follow-up visit (which I ended up cancelling later to prevent more frustration), the admin was trying to find a sooner appointment time with any dentist, but then the practice lead rudely interjected saying “No she will see the same doctor.” How is that patient-centric and empathetic to the negative experience I already had? I immediately knew I couldn’t come back. Maybe this practice was high quality in the past — but not for me! They need to get their act together. Go elsewhere!

One simple filling took over 2 hours to complete because of the lack of staff available. Additionally, the staff did not appologize for the wait and were unfriendly. They did not email me the receipt after completing the appointment like they said they would. Dr. Singh and her staff were amazing. My Dad was obviously upset, but they put his mind to rest and assured him he would have his teeth the following day. Dr. Singh asked to see my Dads mouth and determined that the last two teeth in his head were diseased and that he should consider removing them. My Dad agreed and had the teeth removed and a new mold made for his new dentures. My husband and I were thrilled to be able to make such a life altering gift to my Dad. Usually I am scared of the dentist. However, Dr. Singh changed my view. Living in San Francisco, I had a ton of dentists to choose from. I found this place and looked up Dr. Singh and came across her impressive background. Walking into the practice, I was greeted by the staff and welcomed by the warm, but modern office. After a quick check in, I was brought back and had X-rays. They identified that I had two cavities. The appointment started with the doctor greeting me and then doing the initial cleaning. The technician finished it by polishing my teeth. After, Dr. Singh returned with a plan for my cavities. She described what she would be performing and offered to squeeze me in same day for the cavity repairs. Pretty unheard of for any San Francisco doctor. In 30 minutes, she repaired my cavities and scheduled a follow up a couple weeks later. The bedside manner here is unreal. This is a Dr. that you can trust and one that gives you the attention you deserve. 5 stars across the board.
