I just had my first appointment with Dr. Dorfman. I went in because I had a chipped front tooth; i.e., the front surface of the tooth was visibly badly chipped. Dr. Dorfman kindly showed me that the bottom of the adjacent tooth was chipped as well, and that both needed to be fixed. When I asked him whether I would need to make another appointment, he said he could do the work right then and that it would only take 20 minutes. This all sounded a little too hopeful to me, and therefore, I was very skeptical. However, I stayed in the chair, and sure enough, 20 minutes later, he handed me a mirror to show me the result of his work. I was shocked: my two front teeth were now absolutely perfect and beautiful. Dr. Dorfman calls himself a Cosmetic Dentist - I think he’s more of a Dental MAGICIAN !! After he also suggested that I should make a future appointment for a tooth cleaning, I did just that before I left his office, and now I can’t wait until I see him again!

I had a check up with Dr. Garrett Hawley. I actually found him when the Instagram algorithm suggested him to me lol. Since I just moved to Los Angeles, I was looking for a dentist anyway. When I met him, I was at first intimidated or taken aback because he was so good looking, but he is actually a very warm and friendly dentist. His bedside manner was exemplary. He took pains immediately to make me feel comfortable such as playing music from his iPad when the office computer sound system was down. He took pains to ask me about my life and concerns about my teeth. When he was examining my teeth he was quite efficient and had a light touch (I know the scraping tool freaks everyone out but he was really gentle). Also I really, really appreciate him showing me my x-rays to show why he felt my treatment plan was necessary. I felt involved in the decision making process and he reduced the mystery and fear of the pending treatment. He seemed open to the idea of complementary/holistic therapy like taking Vitamin C or calcium for oral health. There is something called a White Coat effect where patients feel stressed around their healthcare provider, but I actually felt he took all the tension and stress out of the dental visit by his warm and personable approach. I definitely would recommend him to friends or roommates in the future.

Where I come from, when you go to see a dentist, you don’t expect surprises. You expect quality hygienic and aesthetic services. I was used to issues being dealt with effectively and in a manner that appeases—or is at least sensitive to—patient concerns, regardless of whether those concerns are rational or not. I realize now the overall US dental landscape offers quality falling well below my expectations. Over the past few years, I learned there are freakshows out there. Wackos, vampires, robots. People who should not possess a license to practice dentistry. People who don’t know how or don’t care to offer heartfelt sympathies. When I moved to LA, when it came to dentists, I was incredibly naive. The three I saw before seeing Dr. Dorfman are summarized as follows: (1) decent, but concerning in how he handled a cavity and the outcome of my tooth; (2) unprofessional, bordering on a nightmare—the guy scraped my teeth with such intensity that I had mouth and gum pain for days; (3) an actual nightmare—a guy who destroyed my front tooth and smile. When I saw (3), I went in merely seeking bonding to fill a slight gap between one of my top two front teeth to make them even. The dentist proceeded to add bonding, unevenly, and then kept reducing the bonding to the point where he reduced actual tooth/enamel and left remnants of glue or whatever adhesive on various portions of my front teeth. He was also rude and pushy. You can imagine my trauma. My shattered sense of security. Afterward, I made sure I would never make a mistake like that ever again. I did my research and found Dr. Dorfman. And boy was I lucky I found him. I am not trying to blow smoke up your rear. If you’re reading this, know that Dr. Dorfman is legit. Do your own research. But this testimonial is intended to at least help pacify any high-level skepticisms you may have. As to my bonding issue, Dr. Dorfman dealt with it directly and with exacting precision. He went in, evened the teeth, smoothed out the sandpaper-like residue left from the last dentist, and used all his other wizard-dentistry skills to make sure my smile was fixed perfectly. I was so happy I could cry. My self-esteem fully restored. Mind you, the price was very fair and reasonable. Later, I saw his office again for a cleaning: the staff were patient, professional, and skilled. I never felt rushed or hurried. I never felt like anyone was cutting corners or trying to pull a fast one. They simply go above and beyond. One more detail: after Dr. Dorfman fixed my front teeth, due to either eating something hard or an issue with my mouth guard (can’t recall), the bonding chipped. No big deal. Dr. Dorfman fixed it in a flash. He also noticed I had slightly uneven bottom teeth and used a tool to make an adjustment such that they were straighter in appearance and also no longer impacting my mouthguard/bite. I can’t recall if I chipped my tooth a second time or if it just happened once, but Dr. Dorfman chose not to charge me for a new mouthguard that I needed after he made the adjustments to help with the bite (I think the concern was the old guard could be contributing to the chipped tooth). Some people may expect that decision as a matter of course, but Dr. Dorfman could have easily charged me for a new one if he wanted (which I would have happily paid) but recognized I had recently paid for the first one—a decision I really appreciated from him and his office. Dr. Dorfman also gave me a copy of his book. Granted, I still haven’t read it (I know; I am pushing to do this before Christmas). But my point is, that’s yet another nice gesture that sets him and his office apart. Dr. Dorfman is an all around professional, a no-nonsense, let’s fix or optimize these teeth, kind of guy. But also someone who is very pleasant to deal with, which makes a difference. I apologize for how long this is, I just wanted to show how grateful I am to Dr. Dorfman and his staff. My smile looks great, and I can’t wait to see them again. If you’re unsure of who to see, I hope you pick them too. They will not disappoint!

I came in for a consultation for porcelain vaneers because I had achipped front tooth and to fix some teeth that were too pointy and just uneven. A root canal shattered my front tooth and they had to pull it. I was beside myself. An oral surgeon pulled it and did bone grafting. One month before they were going to place the screw for my implant the oral surgeon called me and said there was complications and he couldn't do the work on my mouth. I did my research and found Dr. Bill Dorfman! How BLESSED I am I found him. I flew to LA to have him to do the work he said he was confident he could do it! The whole team was patient with my concerns and tears. Dr.Dorfman is caring, gentle, and honest. He is not out to take your money. He is being conservative and only doing the necessary work my teeth need while listening to my desires. He is expensive but you are paying for the best! They work with you on financing too. I came to him to replace the bonding of my 2 front teeth because they were discolored and chipped and he smooth my teeth and removed the stains and chipping without charging me for this service. I was quite shocked because he was the 4th dentist and they all tried to offer me dental services that did not fit my situation. I met Dr Dorfman and he confidently told me that he has done this procedure countless times and the process of extraction ,bone grafting , will go smoothly with limited time to eventually get my crown . I had my initial appointment with Dr Dorfman. It went great! Told me everything I wanted to hear to fix my teeth. I was sold. Came back for my next appointment and I never saw him again. I was actually assigned to another dentist in another smaller office in the same building. Kind of made me feel like I didn’t fit the image they were looking for to have sitting in their waiting room. Anyway, kept going to my appointments in the smaller office until the end. I received my retainer that didn’t fit so she made it fit with some adjustments and said they would make me a new one. When I asked about the other procedures Dr Dorfman and I had discussed at our initial appointment, she said that was extra. That was NOT made clear to me. Dr. Dorfman wrote out all the procedures on a piece of paper with a total amount and handed it to me. When I brought this up to them, it made no difference. They would not honor it.

First, before my initial consultation they asked me to bring my previous x-rays so that I wouldn't have to take new ones there. I did so, but they deemed them "not good enough" and charged me to take a whole new set anyway. (For the record, they were totally good enough. My previous dentist who had provided them confirmed afterwards, and said he didn't know what the hell they're talking about to say that.) Second, during my consultation the dentist spent most of the time focusing on other stuff than what I was actually asking for, trying to upsell me. Third, I sent a very simple follow-up question by email the day after and they completely ghosted me.

I was a patient here for 3 years from 2010 to 2013. . Dr Bill was great and friendly on my initial consultation, I was on a TV show so I decided to spend the money and go for the best dentist I could find, but I rarely saw him again. . I paid $7500 for invisalign treatment that lasted 3 years and they barely addressed the issues I went in with but told me I was an extreme case that needed intensive treatment to justify the expense. When I finished the treatment I still had to have bonding to fix the issues at extra expense and I’m still dissatisfied with how they look. I was given an unnecessary back filling by a dentist who stared in the mirror more than he looked in my mouth. I’d never had a filling before and I suspect I didn’t need this one. I was frequently pressured that I would need my wisdom teeth taken out. I refused, they are still fine and give me no issues. The last straw came when I went for an appointment and it had been cancelled. I made a fuss so they offered me a free teeth clean. The hygienist, an older white lady, was aggressive and sadistic with my teeth and then patronizing. I was in a lot of pain and she offered no pain relief, she seemed to enjoy my discomfort and patted me on the cheek and spoke in a baby voice to me when I said it hurt. Knowing what I know now about racial prejudice in the medical industry I should have got her fired. I haven’t been to a dentist for 8 years now because of this experience, I wish I had sued them. Plus this dentist is high up in a medical building, you have to deal with all sorts of weird negative people and energies in the elevator. And you are charged $9 for every 15 mins you go over the initial hour. So be prepared to drop $30 on parking. Go to this dentist if you’re an old white person with unlimited funds, it’s probably ideal for you. They only care about money. I suspect that all the rave reviews on here are from people who have been paid to write them.

I have been coming to this office for close to 20 years and even though I am now a Senior citizen and the office doesn't have medicare prices, I will continue coming to this dentist office. The friendly atmosphere of ALL the staff at Dr. Dorfman's office is simply amazing... total concern and comfort for the patient starting with Sennette. They go above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I started with Dr. Dorfman who then put me in the very very capable hands of Dr. Gary Loosevelt, who has taken care of my dental needs for the last 19 years. When I started with Dr. L., I let him know I didn't like dentists and told him in no uncertain terms what might happen if he hurt me while working on my mouth. He smiled and turned his music back up and needless to say, he didn't hurt me then or since and I'm still going to him umpteen years later. Dr. L. has a very friendly, down-to-earth, tell-it-like-it-is demeanor. Where for years I had a fear and phobia of dentists that kept me away from help way too long, not so with Dr. L. I have no fear when I have to go see him. No problems, no complaints.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, particularly the dental assistant James, who actually performed the Zoom brightening treatment. However, I expected to have been treated by Dr. Dorfman personally. He cordially introduced himself, and said he would return after the process was complete, which was disorienting - again - because I went to see him personally. He never returned after that brief introduction, which I felt was less than ideal service. All and all, the service provided by James was excellent. I would hope to have more personalized service from Dr. Dorfman if I were to consider seeing him regularly.

I mean I'm not gonna lie I was nervous about this whole process. I had A LOTTTTT of work that needed to be done and I was super nervous about choosing a Dr to do all of it - as it was going to be the one shot ($$) I had to fix everything. A few friends recommended Dorfman and I must admit that I'm impressed. He's everything I thought he'd be and more. He has the same persona that he portrays on TV (bubbly and friendly) but I was so surprised to see how much he cared. I've gotten a total of 14 veneers and 3 separate partial dentures. He is a perfectionist (which I appreciate as an OCD person) and checks his work over and over until he is confident it's done properly. His assistant is kick ass and made me feel comfortable every time I was in the chair. And if you have done this amount of dental work you can imagine how long it took to accomplish everything I needed done. Every single staff member that worked on me (ie: prepped me, took x-rays, took impressions, etc) was well versed on my case which made me feel good. I wish I remembered their individual names but I don't. I just know that they made me feel cared for. They knew how important fixing my teeth was for me and they all supported me from diff angles. I appreciated that I got to pick the "shade of white" and shapes/sizes of my veneers and dentures. What was even more impressive was that the first version that came in for a "fitting" didn't look like the right shape I had originally asked for and I was nervous to say something but did and Dorfman couldn't have been more understanding and actually agreed with my opinion. He sent everything back and re-ordered new ones - I REALLY appreciated that as my money only allows me to do this process once. AND to top it all off I was scheduled to leave town and needed the final teeth to be put in before I left. His office manager/staff had the laboratory drive it out (1.5 hours) to the office the day of my last appointment to make my deadline so I can leave town as scheduled. Now that's what I call service! I was SO touched that my case was as important to them as it is to me. This office has been busy every time I've been there and it runs like a well oiled machine. To me busy means good. The staff is on their A game. And I like all the high tech gadgets and machinery - looks like the latest stuff. Even though I probably paid a little more than I would have at another Dr I am beyond happy/satisfied with my decision and would do it again. Fixing my teeth isn't like getting a haircut - it won't grow out. I wasn't willing to go to the "cheaper option" just to save a few bucks. This is work I will have in my mouth for the rest of my life and I needed to be sure it was going to get done perfectly! WooooHoooooo!!! :)

I heard so many good things about Dr Dorfman so I decided to call& set an appointment for consultation,later that day I was contacted by a manager who told me that I have to pay way ahead of my actual visit date because in past years people don't show up!Basically they asking first time patients pay before they even meet Dr Dorfman because they don't trust you!It is not the money,it's the principal that they don't trust you to show up,I was extremely offended,I don't care how famous u think u r,You SHOULD treat everyone with respect& dignity! Trust is a 2 way street!This is a dentist office NOT a loan shark office! Oh well,their lost!

I went to Dr. Dorfman to have a restoration corrected. I found him to be very personable and willing to take the time to explain what he was doing. He is an artist when it comes to teeth. Dr. Dorfman determined the cause of my dental problem, while other dentist were focused on just treating the symptoms. If you need dental work, give him a try - I don't think you will be disappointed. The staff is also great!

I received excellent service from the staff at Aesthetic & General Dentistry. My positive experience started from the moment I made the appoinent with Christy over the phone. Camila performed the Zoom! process in a timely, relaxed and efficient process. The last time I had the Zoom! process was in 2004. That was an amazing experience as it made a signifcant improvement in the color of my teeth. But the Zoom! experience is not why I am posting this review. Today's visit was first-class from the moment I checked in the office with Jennifer. She was pleasant, attentive, and thourough with updating the paperwork process. She also asked me if I needed additional dental services. As I was thinking of obtaining a second opinion regarding a cleaning and Xrays that were performed at a different office last week, I took her up on the offer. She requested my Xrays from my previous dentist, and asked Dr. Doug Johnson to review them and perform an exam. Upon meeting Dr. Johnson, I was impressed with his presense, confidence, and caring disposition. He was not rushed and offered to take a close look at my teeth, as he did not find and cavities on the Xrays (contrary to last week's diagnosis from my previous dentist). He performed a thourough exam and confirmed that he did not see any signs of decay. I am pleased to say that Dr. Johnson is my new dentist, as he saved me an unnecessary visit to have my first filling unnecessarily performed next week. Aesthetic & General Dentistry provides an environment that removes the negative stereotypes associated with other dental offices and should be considered if you are looking for a new dental experience.

After years of deferred maintenance due to a bad root canal, I researched sedation dentistry. I found Dr Dorfman based upon his reviews and expertise in handling those patients with a lot of anxiety. The whole staff has been wonderful, warm and caring. Due to the IV anesthesia, we knocked out all the dental fixes in one day! What a relief. I probably will finish this all off with veneers----something I never considered.

I moved from MI to CA in 2012 so naturally I had to find all new doctors for everything. My dentist in MI often bragged about his son becoming a dentist and a musician, and that he had moved to CA. My MI doctor was an excellent dentist and by whom I rated new dentists when in LA. I later learned the son went to work for Dr. Bill Dorfman in Century City's high rent district, famed dentist to the stars. For the first 3 years in LA, I went to several different dentists each of whom made my dental problems worse. None compared to the quality of work my MI dentist provided. I have numerous dental problems ie: loss of many teeth due to several accidents, crowns, partial, teeth shifting, bone loss, uneven jaw bone, the need to wear a custom night guard to save what's left, so my case is usually difficult for the average dentist. After several failed attempts by 'normal' dentists to get things right, I finally went to see Grant Loosvelt, DDS (my MI dentist son). He changed my life. Within 4 visits (which took other dentists near 4 years), he removed (with surgical perfection) an infected root that was left behind by another dentist when a tooth was pulled, and made a new custom mouth guard that fit like a glove. After the root was out and swelling down, my lower partial fit like never before, meaning I could eat normally again. Not only is he an excellent dentist, a master at his craft, he's also kind, gentle (more like a gentle giant - he's super tall), patient (I'm no picnic as a patient), friendly and explained everything step by step, no surprises. I was blown away. The only regret I had is that I didn't go to him sooner which would have saved me a lot of time, grief and pain. I will never go to a lesser dentist ever again. It's not worth it. Grant is a superior practitioner in his field of dentistry and aethetics. All his Dad's bragging was right on. Like father like son. And it was fun to be able to compare notes about MI. And as a side note, I looked up his band ' The Disparrows' and listened to his music, awesome. And handsome as all hell to boot, not that that matters when one excels in their field, but it doesn't hurt either. Not bad on the eyes when you're nose to nose in a dentist chair! I have to go back soon for a cleaning (I have 2 of my own teeth left) which no doubt a hygienist will do but I have to say that this is the first time in my long 60 year history of dental problems that I'm looking forward to seeing my dentist. If going to the dentist scares you, like most people, give these guys a shot. After an experience with them and their very friendly staff, I doubt you'll ever be scared to go to the dentist again. 10 stars.

I loved this place! Everybody there was so friendly and nice, especially the front desk! I came in to get the zoom teeth whitening service, and was very pleased with the service. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to brighten your smile.

Thought I would get a second opinion from the best of the best and Im so glad I did. I was told by another dentist my tooth needed to be pulled out and I would have to get an implant. The staff here heard me out while I practically cried telling my story, gladly I was given great news and since I had no pain the dentist recommended to try crowning it a third time. Well let me tell ya, third time has been a charm. Its been over 3 years and I still have my tooth! So glad I came here for my second opinion! I cant say enough good things about the dentist and staff. I highly recommend this office!

Let me be the first to tell you that I have super sensitive teeth so I was a little skeptical to get my teeth whiten especially at a professional dentistry because they tend to be more detailed than those booths you see in the malls. Well this place proved that all my fears were wrong. I was greeted promptly by the front desk and was taken back right away to finally get my teeth whiten. The whole process was fairly quick and easy. I'll definitely be back for another session in due time!

I highly recommend Dr. Dorfman. he is an amazing dentist. throughout my experiences with him I have seen so many amazing cases that I didn't think was possible. for example, Dr. Dorfman reconstructed a woman's face who has been attacked by a bear. the work he did for her was so precise that she was able to smile again. that made the woman really happy. he is the type of dentist that cares and makes sure that all the cosmetic work done by him is done magnificent.

Personally i have never liked visiting my dentist, but after visiting this office i can truly say i cant wait to go to my dentist. The staff is so wonderful kind and make me feel like family. It doesn't feel like I'm going to the dentist but I'm going visiting friends and leaving is always so hard. They stay true to the appointment time and i have never waited more than 5 minutes after arriving. The service is awesome I come in with a problem and they send me home brand new without pain and good as new. I am extremely particular about my oral health and have been a patient at Dr. Dorfman's office for quite some time. Beyond the staff being so exceptionally kind and efficient, Dr. Dorfman's dental team is also amazing! They have everything under one roof - I've had to get fillings, crowns, root canals and haven't had to go to 5 different specialists. The dentists here work so smoothly that it is virtually a pain-free experience! Not to mention it's a clean office with modern equipment.
