We were in 5 different offices before we found Dr.Wendy Yang including the fancy and well known dentists around the San Diego Area. All of them offered us treatment plans with IV sedation except Dr.Wendy. My son has ADHD so none of the dentists were able to handle him. My gut feeling knew from the first moment that she was the best  when she held her tools and started checking my hyper boy:) . I explained to her my concern about IV sedation. Dr Wendy  was very confident about herself and she told us she will try her best . We have been seeing her since then and yes my son's treatment plan finished just with just Nitrous Oxide ( Laughing gas ) - including tooth extractions and filling . She is a miracle if you have a neurodivergent child. She never judges your neurodivergent kids' behaviour , she respects parents' ideas , she doesn't rush your kid's treatment at all and never tries to convince you to have an extra treatment you actually  don't need . ( I experienced that a lot with other dentists !!) Nina from the front office is the great and she is the best with crazy insurance policies.  You can ask her anything and she knows better than insurance companies :) Finally I am  signing  the paperwork at a dentist office without stress knowing that Nina will take care of it with no mistake . She always informs you if you have a credit and always offers you pay back if there is any credit on your account . Five stars is nothing for Sprouting Smiles . They deserve infinite stars :) If you are looking for a pediatric dentist who will take care of your kid as her kid , honest , direct , knowledgeable , respectful Dr. Wendy is the one .  My son is so lucky to have her . Thank you so much Dr.Wendy , San Diegan kids is so lucky to have a dentist like you .

Our kids love going to the dentist! Every experience is approached with kindness and a gentle touch. They feel safe and confident. All the goodies they earn don’t hurt either!

I've brought my little girl here since she was 1 year old. My daughter had a frenectomy done early on to help with her speech & eating. I was given the option to wait and see how the gum would affect her growth and then potentially have a frenectomy done later, or do it sooner and have a easy recovery with less discomfort (since a baby's diet is soft foods / liquids). I get her routine cleaning done every 6 months. At the end she gets to pick a toy, a balloon, and a sticker. I love this place! My daughter feels comfortable with Dr.Wendy and actually listens to her during the examinations (she can be quite independent). 10/10 would recommend.

This is the perfect dentist and perfect staff and perfect office. The doctor was very patient, helpful, sincere, and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. The staff is very calm, professional, nice, and helpful. They took amazing care of both of my kids. The office is perfectly equipped with all things children. From TVs, to apps, to toys and prizes, popsicles, balloons, stickers, and so much more. The atmosphere is calm and very clean. All the equipment is brand new. This is the perfect place to take your kids for their teeth. I highly recommend this dentist. Dr Wendy is amazing.

Everything about this place is top notch. The staff were very attentive, quick, professional, and nice. The doctor is the nicest and most sincere and patient I’ve ever seen. She took very good care of both of my children and took her time to care for them and answer all my questions and address my concerns. This is the best dentist you can ever find in San Diego to care for your young ones. The space itself is perfectly equipped for kids, TVs everywhere with cartoons and apps to choose from, toys everywhere, headphones, prizes, popsicles, balloons and stickers and so much more. It is the perfect dental office you can find. I highly recommend this place and this dentist.

This place has absolutely no respect for patients’ time. They double and triple book appointments, making you wait nearly an hour or maybe more past your scheduled time. This was our second visit, and nothing has changed the same unprofessional and disrespectful approach. Clearly, they don’t value their patients at all.

Dr. Wendy is the best I have come across in San Diego area for my child. She is very good with children and her office is welcoming to children with little rewards and updated televisions. She made sure the televisions are in their line of sight both sitting and laying down. Her office is maintained very clean. Her Staff is also kind and respectful. Most of all, she listened to my concerns about my sons teeth and intervened with less invasive procedures possible. She has options for less invasive procedures and skilled to do them. She also recently used laser treatment on my son which was less painful for him. She deserves to be Awarded for her Exceptional care. Dr. Wendy was so great wouldn’t my little son she kept entertaining him with fun language talking about Peppa Pig and other cartoon characters at the same time wow she was cleaning his teeth. My daughter, Penelope, has been coming here for some time now and couldn’t be more than happy to have found such a perfect place to come to. Dr. Yang is very good, but the bill might over charged in the beginning, suggest check with your insurance company. After made several call with dental office and provided report from insurance company, in the end got refund.

I cannot stay enough amazing things about Sprouting Smiles. The minute you walk in the door you are welcomed with open arms. The front is decorated for the holidays with the friendliest staff! Once you go back the chairs are adorable with TVs in front and above, headphones and sunglasses for a comfortable feel for your little ones. The staff treats you with so much care and understanding of each little one. They really go above and beyond to make sure your experience every time is the best experience! If I could give more stars I would. I absolutely love this place, My son is neurodivergent so working up visits to the dentist has been a journey. Dr Wendy is absolutely wonderful with littles of all sizes and personalities. The staff of so supportive and compassionate. My little guy now gets excited to go to the dentist which says so much. If you are looking for a compassionate, flexible dentist that meets children where they need/want - this is your spot! I would recommend them 100X over.

Dr. Wendy is an absolute gem! She is kind, enthusiastic, great with kids and so quick. She is incredibly skilled at pediatric dentistry. I have 4 kids, teen to toddler, and she is great with all of them. 2 years ago my youngest chipped his front teeth. I called multiple pediatric dentists in the area and Dr. Wendy saw him right away. He screams through most of his appointments and Dr. Wendy is always incredibly patient with him. My oldest also had major dental anxiety from previous experiences with a different dentist. Dr. Wendy and her hygienists are always so understanding and accommodating. The office is also very clean and welcoming. They always decorate so cute for every season. My 4 years old son had a temporary filling from different practice which fall out just before we were going for vacation. Luckily Sprouting Smiles had an appointment practically the next day I’ve reached them out and Dr. Wendy was able to evaluate and make a new filling at once. She also pointed out some other issues with my son’s dental health and possible ways to approach them in the future which I also very grateful. She definitely knows how to treat the little people, my son has a smoothest experience ever. To addition, the staff is great, facility is clean and entertaining for a smaller kiddos, so we will definitely make it our dentistry.

Dr. Wendy and staff were great! Dr. Wendy spent time explaining how to floss and brush my 4 year olds teeth very thoroughly. She’s very personable and my son loved her (until she was in his mouth). Considering he’s only 4 and it was his first time at a dental office, I think he really liked her too. He got to watch Mickey Mouse Club house during his visit on the offices TV and was the most calm I’ve seen him in a doctors office. There was absolutely no waiting around (like when I take him to his pediatricians). Our appointment was at 3, and got there at 2:45 and was seen within 5 minutes! At the very end of the visit he got a hefty bag of goodies and a balloon! The office was very clean and seemed spacious. Her and her staff were in full PPE. The office was very easy to find and plenty of parking. Definitely recommending this dentist to all my mom friends!

Today was my sons 3rd visit at Sprouting Smiles and we are so glad we made the switch from our previous dentist. Everyone there is so positive, kind, and welcoming. They are gentle and patient with the kids and create a very enjoyable experience (my son was so excited to go there today). They truly go above and beyond ( even had roses for the moms due to Mother’s Day coming up). So sweet. Also the environment is very clean and not overstimulating. Highly recommend!

My only gripe is that I didn’t have a dental facility like this when I was a kid! I’ve been taking my 4 year old here for a little over a year and the staff and treatment have been phenomenal. The atmosphere is calm, clean, bright and welcoming without leaning too far as to feel glib. Every person you interact with is professional and polite, and the effort to make children and parents comfortable shines through easily. Now that’s all pretty impressive, but the real money is in the treatment. From reception to hygienist to dentist, every person takes the time and effort to walk kids through what’s happening to demystify the whole thing. The procedures are efficiently performed, and tailored to the patients tolerance. There are tons of screens all over the place with some headphones provided if your kid wants/needs to tune out for a bit. We’ll be taking our other child when they’re ready.

We found Sprouting Smiles while we were in the area and thought of dropping in to see if they were accepting new patients. They accepted our insurance and scheduled our daughter’s first appointment. My kids are terrified of going to the dentist because of a horrible experience they had at The super dentist. I decided to look for another place that are more gentle and caring and I am so glad I found this place! The dental assistants were AMAZING to my kids. Our experience was exceptional, we had been turned away by another dental office because we were OON and did not know our benefits or what they would pay. I called Sprouting Simles and spoke Directly with Dr Wendy Yang, she was so friendly and understanding told me to bring my little one in & she would take care of her. They have been nothing short of wonderful! Kind front desk staff & very patient Dr. My son almost doesn't even mind going in. Which, as a parent, is worth it's weight in gold!

Every mom needs a dentist like Dr. Yang?❤️ We went to the dentist in Chula Vista and had a terrible experience! It led me on a journey to find someone gifted both in dental knowledge and with how they speak and treat children. We are about 45 mins away, but I had heard so many amazing things about Dr. Yang we came here for a second opinion. WOW! What a difference in all the most wonderful ways!! I feel so blessed to have found this place and I want every mama to know it’s worth the drive or the price! (They do take many insurance plans, and have payment plan options!) PS this was the ONLY a place in San Diego that would do a white crown on a kids molar tooth. We can’t do metal die to blood disorders/cancers running in the family. Also, before coming they ask about your child’s interest to have movies ready for them and discussion topics to help them feel comfortable.

Staff is very nice, office is very kid friendly, Cocomelon on the tv was a nice distraction. My toddler did so well for her first visit, she even got a sticker, ballon and a reward from the “gum ball machine”.

It's the kindest dentist I've ever been to and the facilities are so good that I'm so satisfied that my children want to go to the hospital again. And the nurses and doctor gave them prompt treatment, so it was really nice that we didn't wait long.

Honestly, I couldn’t feel more at peace when I walk into this place with my 4 and 2 yr old. My kids are always so excited to pick out their favorite flavor toothpaste and fun show to watch! Wonderful experience at Sprouting Smiles. From the front staff to the patient hygienist and wonderful Dr. Wendy Yang. My son gets very nervous going to the dentist and he loved his visit. They made him very comfortable and happy. We were never rushed. Dr. Wendy spent time during the exam to be very thorough and answer all my questions. My son’s teeth are cavity prone and I finally have a dentist who will partner with me, listen and has developed a plan to help him. So happy I found this dentist!

Absolutely love Sprouting Smiles! We just moved to Poway and we’re beyond thrilled with our experience. The office is clean, perfect for kids, and the team is phenomenal! Before working on both of my kids, they took the time to explain the tools, taught them how to brush with a stuffed animal, and put a movie on. My youngest has typically been terrified and although still a little nervous, he made it through his entire exam and cleaning. Dr Wendy took time to answer my questions and talk through XRays. What a wonderful first dental visit! This office is superb for the littles and I am a bit jealous that adult offices are not catered to us as much as this office is! Very informative from start to finish and there were no surprises. We just need to work on our brushing. All staff are knowledgeable, professional and polite. Everything is so clean and bright. I, as the parent, had been on the verge of a panic attack all week before the procedure. My 1st grader, as the patient, felt happy and calm and was thrilled to watch TV and get presents and a popsicle afterward. I went to them for a second opinion about a couple cavities my 6 yo old had. What I thought was going to be just a consult turned into getting everything fixed. The staff and dentist were great and their prices were way better than my regular ped dentist….saving me hundreds of dollars. Bringing my autistic son to the dentist for the first time was an anxiety filled event and the people and the process at Sprouting Smiles made everything as smooth and painless as possible. Starting at the intake phone call (asking about my sons sensitivities) and the forms (where they ask his interests and favorite colors) and upon arrival, changing the tv show to something to help him feel comfortable. Every action took my son's needs in to account and he left smiling and happy. It was such a great experience to feel like the staff not only heard my concerns but really listened to where they stemmed from and were able and willing to ease my worries while also being accommodating to my son. I cannot recommend them enough, even driving the 40 minutes from Chula Vista was more—way more—than worth it!

She was able to watch a favorite video, hold a stuffie, get a sticker and a balloon and wander around the place checking things out. I was referred to this office by a friend and now I know why. My daughter’s first visit to Dr. Wendy’s office wasn’t for a regular check up and teeth cleaning, it was an urgent visit to save deeply decayed tooth. Dr. Wendy is amazing! I moved from Massachusetts and was in search of a dentist for my kids. I came across sprouting smiles pediatric dentistry while browsing the moms page on FB and I am so glad I made the appointment. It was my youngest’s first appointment and Dr. Wendy handled him so well. We love spouting smiles, Dr Wendy and the whole team!! We can’t say enough great things about Our whole experience. Our toddler went for his first visit and the entire team made us feel so welcome. He made himself right at home with cocomelon on the TV in the lobby and in the chair (on the walk AND above in the ceiling!). Every detail of the office and the expletive were so well thought through. We had a practice dinosaur and gave our son his own tools to play with and get familiar with before we did his cleaning. Talked to him about what they were going to do and how it would happen. Made my son feel so confident and he let the cleaning happen for longer than I expected which was pretty impressive for his very first visit. The whole place is so kid friendly. All cabinets and counters are rounded edges. My son bounced around and loved exploring the animals on the walls. He really gave the office his full toddler test, jumping and pushing things around. But everyone was so kind and patient. We will be with sprouting smiles for life!!! Thank you!!

I brought my 3 year old here for his first ever dentist appointment and Dr. Wendy & her staff were amazing. My toddler was obviously very anxious about his checkup, but they were all so quick to make him feel comfortable about his cleaning. Jessica was king enough to let him brush the teeth of a dinosaur and Dr. Wendy got down to his level to show him all the tools she would use on him and what each of them were for. It took some convincing but he finally sat on the chair for his checkup and cleaning. In the end he walked out with a sparkling set of teeth, a tooth friendly goodie bag, and a balloon. He felt so comfortable he kept asking when we would return, so we can’t wait to come back in 6 months for his next appointment.

I went into the appointment with my two autistic boys scared out of my mind that this was going to go south really fast and that we most likely will be leaving without actually getting the exam done. First let me say that when we walked in I was so impressed with the ambiance. They had dimmed the lights and they even had my boys favorite cartoon on the TV ready to go. That already put my nerves at ease. Registration was a breeze. We proceeded back to the exam area where again I was impressed. They not only had puppy dog pals on the TV on the wall but they had it on the ceiling as well. Dr. Wendy was so kind, caring and understanding of my boys. She even sang to them as she cleaned their teeth. To my amazement booth exams were done and the absolute relief I felt I have no words for. Not only that but Dr Wendy even found that my youngest (almost 3) had a tongue and lip tie. I couldn't believe it. So needless to say we are definitely taking the boys here from now on. It was totally worth the 20 mile drive and paying out of pocket. The team there is amazing and I'm just so grateful to have found them on the web. I highly recommend to any parent; especially a parent of a special needs child. Your child is in good hands at Sprouting Smiles!

Dr. Wendy and her staff were incredible! I took my daughter here for her first dental visit and they were extremely patient with her as she was definitely confused and nervous. The hygienists took their time and cleaned her teeth at her pace. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Dr. Wendy provided so many helpful tips, tricks, and advice on toddler home dental care. She is extremely friendly, relatable and has a warm personality which made the experience comfortable for me as a parent. On top of all of this, the facility is extremely clean! I encourage anyone in need of a good pediatric dentist to give this practice a try. The facility is clean, the doctor and staff are friendly and above all, highly competent. I had many questions for the doctor who had knowledgeable responses. She's up to date with the newest medical research. Finally, she encouraged me to seek medical advice from an ENT in conjunction with hers instead of trying to sell her services to me. This is refreshing when so many private practice doctors out there focus more on billing for services than actual patient outcomes. Wonderful first experience. My daughter is almost two and is a wiggle worm. She did not want to sit in the chair and they offer other options that allowed for the exam and cleaning to go well. The staff was kind, friendly, and patient. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. We are glad we chose Sprouting Smiles. We will be back in six months.

My kids had their first visit with Sprouting Smiles today and I was so impressed by how kind, patient and thorough the staff there was. My son has Autism and ADHD, and they were wonderful with him. He was able to have his teeth cleaned and x-rays without any problems. They showed my kids the tools they would be using, explained what they do and even let them feel them so they knew what to expect. The office is really cute and the TV's on the wall during the exam helped with distracting my little ones so they could get a cleaning without any issues.

My son is not very comfortable at the dentist! Upon coming here he felt calm and ready! Everyone was very friendly and I was well informed on decisions to make and everything was laid out for me! I know they were short staffed when we went, but I did have to wait about 30 mins before being seen. They were very nice though and tried their best to make us comfortable while we waited. We had the very best experience at Sprouting Smiles. Daisy and Dr. Wendy did an incredible job of connecting with my kids and explaining every step to make them feel more comfortable. My daughter was able to practice on her favorite stuffed bunny before her exam. Dr. Wendy and Daisy showed my daughter the tools they use, allowed her to feel first before using them on her, and helped educate her on the whole process. Dr. Wendy also thoroughly explained the results of the dental exams for both of my children, what to look for, and how to care for their dental hygiene. They do a tremendous job of personalizing the experience for each child, like playing their favorite show during the exam. We found Sprouting Smiles Pediatric Dentistry online as my regular dentist recommended I go see a pediatric dentist for my 3 year old who has 2 progressing cavities and he was not keen on getting them treated as you can imagine. It’s only been a single visit but we are very impressed so far with Dr.Yang and her office. They are relatively new to the area (~1 year from what I understand) but the facility is very modern and inviting and they seem to have the latest technology. They also have online documentation process that eliminates having to go in and fill out several pages while at the site. We can tell they value customer service highly as they asked about what my son likes in terms of shows characters, etc. I didn’t think anything of it but I noted that he likes Octonauts and they had it playing on the screen during the visit so it was easier to manage him as he was engrossed in the show. Also Dr. Yang was very thorough in her explanation to us about our treatment options, which we appreciated. We plan to using Sprouting Smiles for or some in the future.

Dr. Wendy Yang and her office staff have been fabulous with my energetic three year old son both times we have been to the office. Before the first visit, we had completed an intake form with his health and interests, and he was mesmerized when they had Winnie the Pooh already queued up to play on the TV on the ceiling above the exam chair when we arrived. They are great with explaining each step to him in simple terms beforehand to put him at ease, Dr. Yang's exam was quick but thorough before he got too antsy, and then she always explains her findings and recommendations for home afterwards.

My son has a fear of the dentist but he walked out saying “best dentist ever!” Friendly staff, calming office environment, dentist told him all about what she was doing and the balloon was a fitting send off at the end. I can’t recommend enough.

Dr. Wendy did a fantastic job with my 22 month old son on his first complementary visit. Before that my son had been refusing to eat solid food for a week after a virus infection. But after the cleaning, he eats well immediately the very first dinner after that appointment!

We went to Sprouting Smiles was my son’s first dentist appointment. The place was super inviting, decked out in exactly what James needed to be calm heading into it. The whole team made sure we both knew what to expect, and even though there were tears during the exam…James giggled the minute it was over. What a wonderful first trip to the dentist!

My two-year-old son had a wonderful appointment. Despite those expected tears, he laid still for the appointment. I was shocked. The office is very comfortable and kid-friendly. They even played his favorite shows which were a great distraction. Plus, at the end, he got a balloon and a fun dental bag with watermelon floss. I highly recommend Sprouting Smiles. If they can clean my son's teeth, they can clean any child's.

My son is prone to plaque and tartar. After a year of no teeth cleaning (due to Covid), you can imagine the build up he had accumulated. Dr Yang took extra time to clean up every build up she can see. Other dentists before her had asked us to schedule additional appointments to have him return another day, which means, additional payments out of pocket. Dr Yang is the most patient and gentle dentist that my kids and I have ever met.

I’ve never seen a dentist singing so many songs while working! Dr. Wendy and her nurse were fabulous from the very beginning, she definitely conquer my heart by speaking perfect Spanish. It was my son’s first dentist appointment and she explained super patiently all the tools that she was going to use. It surprised me because I didn’t think he was going to pay attention. She has that tone and that personality that kids just listen to her. She was calm herself which was great to remain calm myself to be there to support my son. We’re coming back in 6 months for another check up and more balloons!

I'm so happy that I found this pediatric dentistry practice. Dr. Wendy is the most friendly and caring dentist. She is very personable, explains the treatment well, and remains patient even in the face of a crying baby. I never feel rushed and you can tell she is invested in her patient's care and willing to answer any questions. Maria is helpful as the dental assistant and welcoming when we arrive every time. Dr. Wendy is definitely my child's dentist from here on out. We had a wonderful first visit--she let my toddler take her time to get comfortable, showed her all her tools before letting my girl get herself settled in the chair, and was extremely patient when my girl got a bit wiggly during the brushing. She also gave me tons of ideas for weaning off pacifiers and making brushing more fun. And the balloon at the end was icing on the cake. I asked my daughter later, and she said going to the dentist was really fun ?

Dr. Wendy is very professional. During my visit with my two-year-old son for his cleaning, everything went very well. The office is clean and child-friendly. My son wasn't nervous or crying because the doctor speaks Spanish and took the time to show him and explain the tools. He also enjoyed the chocolate-flavored toothpaste they used during his cleaning and left happy and without crying. Dr. Wendy and her assistants do an excellent job.

Dr. Wendy is so great! I was a bit nervous about my 2 year old’s first teeth cleaning and real dentist visit, so we read a lot of books and talked a lot about what he could expect. Dr. Wendy took so many thoughtful steps to make him feel comfortable, and took far more time than I had expected to ensure he was at ease. Nothing about the visit felt rushed, and her demeanor was so warm and friendly with him! She explained everything to him before doing it, let him touch and explore all her tools, and had a lot of cute little ways to have him keep his mouth open and cooperate with the cleaning. I thought for sure my little guy would fight her and cry, but he was calm and interested during the whole procedure, and kept taking about Dr. Wendy for the rest of the day! Dr. Wendy was also incredibly thorough. I had mentioned that son had a small chip in his front tooth from a fall, so she examined that carefully and noticed that it was a bit loose. She did an x-ray to ensure there was no damage that we couldn’t see, and put together a plan to monitor it, without trying to up-sell me on any services (like many dentists do). All in all, she’s great! She doesn’t take our insurance, but we’re going to just pay out of pocket for our child to see her; that’s how much we like her!

Highly highly recommend! Dr. Yang was wonderful with my son for his first ever dentist visit. She explained what was going to happen both to him and me and ensured he was comfortable throughout the entire visit—even singing to him. She went at his pace, made it fun and was extremely gentle. I had the absolute best experience with Dr Wendy! I never thought i could say taking my 4.5 yr old to the dentist was fun, but me and my son had the best time! It was my daughter's very first dentist appointment but Dr. Wendy and the nurse were very nice and friendly, so that helped my daughter to stay calm. She was not scared at all though out the visit. Dr. Wendy told us what to do to keep my daughter's teeth healthy, and what to expect for her particular age. Brand new office, very clean and bright. I am glad we have such a nice dental clinic nearby!

I took my son for his two year checkup. He was pretty nervous about going to the dentist but Dr. Yang and her amazing staff really put him at ease. Plus, I felt comfortable knowing we were the only appointment in the office during covid. They even had his favorite movie playing which was a huge bonus (they emailed to ask about favorite characters before we showed up). The best part for me was hearing how we were doing and learning how we can improve his dental hygiene. We found out Dr. Wang has a special friendship with the pacifier fairy so now we can finally give those pacifiers a new home!

Dr Wendy and her staff were amazing with my kids (3y and 5.5y). They were attentive, caring and engaging. It’s a brand-new and spacious office. We could not have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend Sprouting Smiles Pediatric Dentist!

We absolutely adore Dr. Wendy Yang! We moved near the area a few months ago and we are so glad we found this dental office for our kids. If you are worried about covid, Dr. Yang takes extra precautions to ensure that everyone is healthy and safe. The office is so clean and organized. It was a very personalized appointment since our family where the only ones in the office. My 2yr son was due for his regular dental cleaning. I was really worried that he would be a crazy one to work on. Dr. Yang was so patient with working with him. She was really thorough about her cleaning. She educated my husband and I on how to make teeth brushing a fun routine. When my son was done, she offered to do my 10months old daughter’s teeth for free! My daughter has her 2 bottom teeth in and again Dr. Yang knew exactly how to make her first experience enjoyable. When they were done she gave them their new tooth brush, floss, tooth paste and a goodie bag of stickers and toys. Now my son can’t stop about his teeth. We are definitely gonna make this our kids regular dental office.

All the staff are super kind and patient with the kids. My daughter who is 2 visited here for her first trip to the dentist. She is pretty strong willed and they handled her amazingly. The facility is super clean, very warm and inviting for the children. We had an amazing experience. I highly recommend Sprouting Smiles :)
