I recently started the implant process for my #18 which is the first implant for me in several years. Dr. Sinks, who very professionally accomplished my previous implants with very high quality, is now fully retired. I am quite impressed as to how the technology has advanced in recent years which has made it very easy to undergo implant treatment. Dr. Gohel is super! She lets you know every step of the way what is happening, which works wonders to keep me at ease during the chair time. She checked on me in the evenings of the extraction and post placement. Dr James Sinks is a great surgen. He was gentle and knowledgeable. I highly recommend.

I was having pain and my regular dentist determined that I needed a root canal. She referred me to a dentist that specializes in root canals. After the root canal I continued to have swelling and pain and the root canal dentist referred me to gum specialists Dr. Sinks and Dr. Gohel on Genesse Avenue in San Diego. I was initially seen by Dr. Sinks and he checked the gum and made his recommendation to include cleaning the bacteria inside the gum. When I was ready to have the operation done I was seen by Dr. Gohel (Dr. Sinks is out of the Country) and she made the same recommendation as Dr. Sinks. Both doctors made me feel very comfortable, took the time to answer all my questions and were very kind. I trusted them 100% and was very impressed by their manner and knowledge. Dr. Gohel numbed the area of the surgery by first applying a numbing agent which minimized the pain greatly when she put the needle in the needle for numbing. It has been 9 hours since the surgery and I barely have any pain. I will highly recommend this office. The staff is extremely nice and helped also.

Dr. Sinks was referred to me by my primary care dentist Dr. Milatovic. I didn't want to do the bone grafting and implant due to some previous experience, but she assured me that he is an amazing doctor and i should seek his opinion. I'm so grateful I did. During my first consultation, Dr. Sinks was really patient and knowledgeable in explaining my situation, I told him that I don't want to take any antibiotics in my treatment and he gladly accepted my situation and said he will do the procedure in a way to minimize the risk of any infection, but also warn me that in case of one we would have to proceed accordingly. During the bone graft procedure and ridge augmentation, I received probably the best ever local anesthesia I've ever had(I probably had hundreds during my life). The procedure went really well and I'm having a speedy recovery now. During the recovery, I had some bumps along the way and once I called Dr. Sinks around 10.30 pm and he responded to my surprise and assured me that everything is going as it supposed to. I'm so delighted about my experience so far and would highly recommend Dr. Sinks to anyone who needs important surgery work to be done. Thank you Dr. Sinks and all your staff, I appreciate you!

I have been seeing Dr Sinks, primarily for periodontal work, for the last two years and have been very satisfied with every aspect of his services. I have complete confidence in his work and in the staff at the office. In particular, Dr Sinks is an excellent communicator so I never experience any confusion regarding what's to be done in my mouth, nor do I ever have need to question his competence or honesty.

I have been through many surgeries in my lifetime. I had some heavy duty laser surgery in my mouth today. Dr. Gohel was very reassuring and advised me each step of the way as to what I should expect. I am not a fan of needles (who is?), but the pain was not as bad as I thought. Once my mouth was numb, I felt nothing and we were off to the races. The technician was excellent as well. Back in 2 weeks for a checkup.

When I finally was ready to get it done, I knew I wanted an excellent surgeon and so the only choice was Dr. Shivali Gohel. She is an precise and gentle surgeon and she got a terrific result on a tough case. I did not have any pain during the procedure or post operatively. Had an absolutely perfect experience with Dr Gohel. I chose to go with a local anesthetic instead of IV sedation. The operation took about an hour and half, felt no pain throughout besides the initial pinch of the needle when the anesthetic was administered. Her and her assistants had an incredible bedside manner and made the 90mins pass in no time. After the procedure I was warned that the pain would increase over the next 4 days, and to stay on top of the Motrin I was prescribed (extra strength over the counter meds were suggested as an alternative if I didn’t want the prescription). I ended up not needing any meds, felt no pain at all the next day or anytime after. This is not suggesting you should avoid the painkillers, just that for me it felt unnecessary. The healing process was quick. All this makes me think the operation was a fantastic success and Dr Gohel did amazing work. We only operated on the gum line for 2 out of the 3 teeth I was advised to due to hitting my insurance maximums for the year. And after this experience I have absolutely no concerns about returning to Dr Gohel to complete the work. I’ve already suggested her to several friends and family members who have mentioned that their dentist suggested they get similar work done.

If you need a periodontist, Dr Gohel should be number one on your list! I was referred to her after learning that a procedure done over 20 years ago resulted in a lot more work and eventually an infection. When I first arrived and met with Dr Gohel, I felt so relaxed and completely comfortable with the procedure that I was going to receive. Last year in February I had a tooth extracted and she set out the timeline for healing and eventually getting an implant to replace it. I like to know everything, all the possible outcome and Dr Gohel and her team gave me every bit of information I asked for. Her team was not only knowledgeable, but also very kind, not only to me but to my son and wife as well! She even calls the evening after surgery to check up on you! I would have never expected such a thoughtful gesture, but I am so thankful that my referral led me to her and her team!! Dr. Gohel did a great job with a troublesome tooth that I had cracked beyond repair. It is never pleasant to have a tooth extracted, but with her professionalism and her staff it made the experience about as pleasant as it could be. I have had a series of issues that has caused the need for multiple gum grafting procedures and have gone to multiple different periodontists for this. Dr. Gohel has been, without a doubt, the best to work with. Extremely attentive to details with a high focus on patient care. First of all she is a great listener and patiently answered all of my questions prior to my surgery. My surgery performed by Dr. Gohel was a great success and the after care I received was awesome. She called me at home after the surgery to ensure i was doing okay. I went to her on three separate occasions for her to recheck me and was cleared today. I couldn't be happier with the results and the fine work performed by this fantastic dentist and her staff. If you need Periodontal work done I would highly recommend Dr. Gohel. You won't regret it!
