My son and I absolutely love Dr Evelyn and her crew. They are so friendly and attentive. My son always feels special there and they do their best to make sure my son is at ease and any uses appropriate terms to make any concerns not sound scary. The office is not cluttered and cute. Before COVID they had plenty of toys, books and video game station to keep kids entertained. They have removed these things to help minimize COVID risk - which is smart. We moved to Los Angeles 5 years ago and still drive down to see them. I just haven’t found anyplace else near me that is on par with this group. We can’t say enough great things about Kidz Place Dentistry and Dr. Josh. He sees all three of our kids, which alone deserves a medal, and somehow every visit is still smooth, calm, and even fun. Dr. Josh has a true superpower when it comes to kids. He’s patient, kind, and has a way of making the dentist feel less like a dental appointment and more like a hangout where teeth just happen to get cleaned. Our kids actually walk in smiling (and not just because they know they’re leaving with a prize). The staff is warm, friendly, and clearly used to managing kid energy levels that range from “slightly nervous” to “full-blown wiggle mode.” The office is bright, welcoming, and designed so well that our kids are almost disappointed when it’s time to leave.

We came here for a second opinion after feeling unsure about the treatment plan from another practice that seemed to be pushing unnecessary fillings for my then 6-year-old. Dr. Hammer was incredibly honest and offered an alternative plan involving sealants and close monitoring. She clearly explained every step and the possibility that fillings might eventually be needed, but she gave us the confidence and knowledge to make the best decision for our child. At our very first appointment, I learned more than I had in multiple visits to our previous dentist. Dr. Hammer is thorough, patient, and truly takes the time to explain everything. My older daughter has sensitivity to suctioning noises due to prior hearing loss issues, and Dr. Hammer has gone above and beyond to slowly acclimate her to the suctioning. Thanks to her gentle approach, my daughter is now completely comfortable with it! Dr. Hammer also works closely with our orthodontist to ensure the best care coordination, which has been such a relief. The headphones and TVs on the ceiling are a great touch, making visits even more comfortable for the kids. The entire staff is friendly, professional, and truly wonderful to work with. The Mecca of Pediatric Dentistry! I’ve been in search for a pediatric dentist that treats kids with the utmost care. My three children have had a teeth cleaning and check-up here and my son recently had one of his teeth extracted. Both experiences were amazing. From the moment we walked in until we left the office they were able to put all kiddos at ease. Dr. Hammer works magic and is probably one of the sweetest people you’ll meet. She’s gentle, kind and knows what she’s doing. The dentist assistant Bethany and Ruby made every effort to help kids feel comfortable and happy. The atmosphere is very positive and decorations and decor are so welcoming. I’m happy to finally find a place I can take my kids without the smoke and mirrors with billing as they share costs upfront before work and total matches what you actually pay. Vicki is also amazing taking care to send reminders and handle our scheduling and checking-in and out. Sooo lucky to have found this place for my kiddos!

I usually have been satisfied with the experience with this office. But my recent visit was really upsetting . For the cleaning appointment, the nurse only spent around 5 minutes with my child. The total visit was less than 10 minutes. I highly doubt that the nurse even did anything to clean my child's teeth. Maybe this was just that one nurse, but still very disappointing.

This was my toddler son’s first dental appointment with Dr Hammer. It was amazing! I was sure that he would cry and fight back the whole time, but she was so patient and gentle with him and he did great! No tears. He had a checkup and toothbrush cleaning. The dental office is nice and convenient. The hygienists are great with kids too. HOWEVER, BEWARE of them charging you for unnecessary and extraordinary services that your insurance won't cover. Our daughter had an appointment in Jan and 6 months later we receive a bill for services. When I called they said our insurance didn't cover some of the xrays. I asked them why they performed the 8 xrays when my insurance covers 3 and they didn't inform me that the cost would be out of pocket. Their answer was that they can't keep track of all the insurances because they change too much and they just have a standard they follow. I shopped around for a new dentist and they all confirmed that it's standard practice to inform patients if a service is needed outside of the insurance. They were also shocked to hear that 8 xrays were performed for a 5 year old. So it seems Kids Place would rather do more knowing that insurance won't pay and then have the cost fall out of pocket and then they send an invoice 6 months later in hopes that you will pay it. All I asked was to give me an option before "forcing" me to stick to their standards. Even if they say it's for the best interest of the kid and they are board certified etc. It doesn't matter, the consumer should have the right to know what will be charged before the service is performed. I cannot recommend this place for that reason.

My daughter has special needs and absolutely will NOT sit in the dental chair. All of her dental treatment needs to be done in the hospital under sedation. We've been coming to Kidz Place for a few years now. The first few times, she would not open her mouth. She will still only sit in the chair in the corner of the operatory, but at our visit yesterday, she let Dr. Josh look inside her mouth with a mirror and let the hygienist polish her teeth. They are very patient and calm and have been great with my daughter. I highly recommend Dr. Josh and Kidz Place!
