Absolutely great place. The lobby is so welcoming for kids, lots of toys. My kids don’t mind waiting. Also, there hardly is a wait. They move very quickly here. I just came today and was literally in & out in 10 mins. Dr. Johnson is incredibly kind, courteous, and makes the entire experience welcoming. Her staff is just as positive and welcoming. The entire atmosphere is great.

Dr. Harris is wonderful with children! She’s patient and she understands the world from their perspective. She took great care of my daughter during her extraction and to be frank I needed more care than my child. Dr. Harris exceeded my expectations and I will be taking all of my children to her for all their dental care.

Dr. Davette Johnson-Harris and her staff were incredibly accommodating during my daughter’s tooth extraction. From check-in to the procedure itself, everything was handled quickly and smoothly, and my daughter was made comfortable throughout the entire process. As a parent of five children, I can confidently say this was the smoothest extraction experience I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

Brought my 9 month in as a new patient the staff were absolutely amazing and super accommodating especially when dealing with a young squirming child these ladies were extremely professional and thorough the office was extremely clean and the staff even held my child for me to keep him busy because I needed help with some paperwork I cannot thank these women enough for easing a young moms anxiety with my sons first dentist appointment I definitely recommend this place for all the mommas thank you !!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Johnson and her team. My daughter used to be absolutely terrified of going to the dentist—until we found Dr. Johnson. She is incredibly patient, gentle, and truly knows how to make kids feel safe and comfortable. Her staff is just as amazing. The receptionist is always so kind, welcoming, and friendly, and every visit feels easy because they take the time to explain everything clearly. The office itself is magical for kids—each room has a different book theme, and my daughter LOVES that. It turns her appointment into something fun instead of scary. What really makes this office special is how much they care beyond their walls. Dr. Johnson and her staff volunteer in the community, my daughter was so excited to see her dentist at her school event. As a self-proclaimed helicopter mom, I HIGHLY recommend this place. As soon as you walk through the door, you are very well received first by the secretary who is very nice, games to entertain children (my children like to go there), Dr. Davette is so nice, she had been recommended to me by another dentist.

If you are looking for a new dentist for your kids I highly recommend you choosing Lakewood Dental they are amazing!! My son needed some major work done to this teeth and receptionist forgot her name she explained everything and answered all my questions right from the moment I made my first call. My son needed some antibiotics prior to his procedure, we went in on a Friday and the office reached out Saturday morning to see how he was doing- mind you this is outside business hours as they aren’t open on the weekends, who does that?! Not even his pediatrician office does that! Doctor Johnson-Harris took care of my son’s procedure she talked to him all the way through. My son and us as parents felt so comfortable. Amazing place I highly recommend them- they make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. Love them!

First of all you walk in to street fighter arcade games. My kids forgot they were at the dentist. Doctor Johnson was super chill and was bubbly and fun. My five year old liked her so much she asked for a hug. The assistants were super gentle during x ray process. Receptionist was awesome as well. Super professional but I also felt like I was just at a friends house. 10 stars

I am so glad I found this dentist office for my daughter! She absolutely loved coming and they made her feel comfortable getting 3 crowns today! I used to take my kids to another kids dentist office and they also complained about how rough they were. I told a co-worker and she referred me to Lakewood Kids Dentistry. When I went I was so impressed by the staff, who by the way were so amazing. They were so gentle with my son who has sensitive gums due to medication that he takes and patient with my nervous kid who is a drama king. Thank you Lakewood Kids Dentistry for being such an awesome office.

My family and I relocated here to Texas from Ohio. Our previous dentist, we had a great relationship with found Dr. Johnson and her practice for us. He had done a lot of research for my family and I. The reviews of Dr. Johnson and her professional service were amazing. Boy…. Did she NOT disappoint. Her staff, Amazing. Her service, Amazing. The cleanliness of the office, amazing! It feels likes family whenever we walk in. As soon as you enter, the front office staff is screaming the family name with a cheerful welcome greeting. The energy at the office and with the staff is infectious. Communication and education is always clear and concise. Our kiddos have never had a fear of the dentist. My kids still look forward to going to the “Teeth Doctor”. Needless to say, so glad we found Dr. Johnson and her team. Great customer service! Keep it up team!

⚠️ Parents beware. If your child has special needs, this clinic will likely cost you far more than you expect. They tack on a $150 “behavioral management” fee at their discretion, and you won’t find out until after the appointment. Insurance will not cover it—you pay every cent out of pocket. What they don’t tell you up front: routine cleanings every 6 months could mean at least $300 extra a year. And if your child needs fillings or other procedures, that $150 fee can be charged each time. In reality, $300 is just the bare minimum. Costs can balloon fast. Their website promotes that they “specialize” in children with special needs, but what that really means is added fees and surprise bills. When I questioned the lack of transparency, the staff was rude, dismissive, and flat-out told me I could take my child elsewhere. That says it all—this place cares more about profit than kids. I will never return, and I strongly urge other parents to look elsewhere before getting stuck with these hidden charges. P.S. WISH I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARS

Please be advised: If you are a parent of a child with special needs—especially those with autism—this clinic imposes an additional $150 behavioral management fee for services. As a result, and following their own suggestion, I will be seeking a new dentist for my children. I’m sharing this to ensure other parents are informed before seeking care.

Unfortunately, our experience at Lakewood Kids Dentistry was very disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the staff was noticeably rude and unwelcoming. There was no greeting or effort to make us feel comfortable, which is especially important at a pediatric office. The office itself felt outdated and not well-maintained. The dental equipment looked old and worn, which raised concerns about the level of care being provided. Even more concerning, the overall cleanliness of the facility was not up to standard. Surfaces didn't appear to be properly sanitized, and the environment didn’t feel hygienic for a medical setting, especially one serving children. I rarely leave negative reviews, but parents should be aware of these issues when choosing a dentist for their kids. I hope the office takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements, because children deserve a safe, clean, and kind place for their dental care.

My son is always very nervous to go to the dentist, but they do such an amazing job at making him feel comfortable! The staff is amazing, they are so very patient & the dentist is very informative!!

I don’t even have the words to describe what happened. The dental assistant made my daughter hold the xray gun twice in the hallway WITHOUT the protective gown. The other trainee called my daughter a boy twice and sprayed water all over my daughter and the wall while cleaning then proceeded to tell her to stay still when she wasn’t moving. As a first time patient this was so stressful and uncomfortable.

So, I want to start off by saying that I was very nervous. My son had to have a small procedure, and he had never had one previously. I just want to start by saying that each one of the women at the office are extremely kind and caring. Not just to the children they help, but to concerned parents too. My daughter was reffed over by her Dentist and we were not disappointed. The whole ambience was amazing, from beginning to end. Even the waiting area was fun for her. Going to the dentist has always been a bit difficult and frightening for my daughter. Not at Lakewood, she was all smiles the whole time. Staff was very welcoming and so friendly. They made sure to explain everything to both my daughter and I, that alone made her feel 100% comfortable. She left with a bunch of goodies and a big smile. It was such a great experience, they took great care of my baby. She wants to switch over to Lakewood and make it her Dentist moving forward. Making the decision to switch my 3 girls to Lakewood Kids Dentistry has been the best decision I have ever made. My 2 youngest had bad experience with the other dentist they went to before and were scared to go get there clean. But now it’s a whole different attitude and they are not nervous. I was referred to Lakewood dentistry by my previous family dentist. My oldest at the moment was 4 going on 5 and my youngest was an infant. My oldest needed some crowns and fillings. After a failed attempt and a bad experience with previous dentist, I thought that it was going to be another failure with this dentist. To my surprise, it was a success. The relaxed vibe the front office gives with the video games is a win already. My son forgot all about the bad experience he had previously. The front staff were so nice. The nurses and the Doctor were amazing. They explained everything to my son since the beginning. They showed him what everything in the room was for and how it felt on his hand so he can kind of have an idea of how it will feel in his mouth. They went the extra mile to make sure he was comfortable with them working in his mouth. my son had to be sedated and strapped down and they were just very interactive with him. They are so kind, patient and understanding. The whole office has like a "Everything is going to be OK" type of vibe. they make sure my kids don't leave with a bad experience. Ever Since the referral I decided to stay here for my kids. Now my youngest who is now 2 sits all on his own and worry free and enjoys every moment of it.

The staffs are very nice and friendly the nurse was great. Doctor was very sweet too. This was my first visit for both my kids.. my kids are really scared of doctors so we were recommended to see a pediatric dentist so we came here thinking that pediatrics are aware of kids how much hard it can get sometimes. At the end of the visit the doctor said that her job is to come and do the checkup and leave but if the kids don’t allow them or keep crying then they would need more staffs to handle them and it would cost us 150$ each child and will not be covered by the insurance omg, this is something new I have ever experienced. I would suggest people if your kids are scared of doctors then find a different pediatric dentist that doesn’t cost extra money .

Finally, found a dentist that worked on our baby girl’s teeth without putting her under general anesthesia in an OR room. I wished we were recommended to Dr. Johnson-Harris sooner. Our baby girl is now 6yo but we had been putting off work on her teeth because we kept being referred to a hospital/surgery. I was afraid to go that route because I did not want her to be under general anesthesia. She’s had done work before when we lived in New Jersey and the dentist there was patient and worked on her as Dr. Johnson-Harris did but we had to move. Dr. Johnson-Harris is a great doctor and her staff as well are great. Everyone is professional and very accommodating. Dr. Johnson-Harris was very patient and calm with our daughter and was even singing to her during her procedure. My baby was scared but with everyone working together and did just what Dr. Johnson-Harris recommended and advised, we got everything taken care of in one visit. Four caps to her molars and two front top teeth that needed some polishing and covering that was caused from nursing. We are very happy and we would definitely recommend Dr. Johnson-Harris to all who have children.

My four year old had a lot of work that needed to be done with partial sedation, and he was so lovingly cared for here. I as a mother felt respected and considered as well. I’m grateful for the team at Lakewood.

We had our first visit today! I had three kiddos with me today and they were able to see them at the same time. Zero wait time! The doctor was awesome and gave me all the information I needed and answered all of my questions. The staff was absolutely amazing! My daughter was a little nervous and they took the time to explain everything to her so she would not be scared anymore. Needless to say I had three children leaving with a smile!!!

One of the Best Dentist out here in Houston for kids! She treated my niece & nephew so well. She handles them with care and they loved the Doctor Suess room. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dentist! They lied to me SEVERAL times about prices, changed what they wanted to do, and then tried to hide charges so I would sign off on what needed to be done and hoped I wouldn’t notice. I tried working with them and they refused! I was so mad and decided the best course of action was to leave. Before I left, though, they made me pay for the visit, even after everything that had happened! The dentist had literally seen my daughter for no more than two minutes! I would seriously question anyone who would deal with such crooks!

I cannot say enough good things about Lakewood Kids Dentistry! We were referred here and Im so thankful! Everything from the initial phone conversation to my daughter getting treated for fillings was a breeze. Everyone was so kind, sweet and patient with my Joy. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson!! Both my daughters had spectacular appointments with her. One of my daughters is terrified of dental work! Just mentioning a dentist would send her into tears. Dr. Johnson filled four cavities and there were absolutely no tears. She is kind and patient. She even sang to my daughter to calm her fears! ❤️

I was sent to spend more money somewhere else that could not fix my child’s dental issues. I drove all the way to this new place only to be told they would not be able to fix my child’s issues. Not only this they tried to charge my child for an adult (me). It was so depressing because, I thought they were trying to reduce cost as she said. I ended up spending more.

Great place. I bring my 2.5 year old here and she loves it. Kind staff, very patient, and understanding.

I really like this place. They are so nice the place is clean and quiet. They have things for the babies to play with and they also funny. I’m glad I was recommended to this place by my son’s pediatrician ❤️

My son was having severe mouth sensitivity due to dialysis and I needed him to be seen right away. The front desk lady was so friendly she asked Dr. Johnson if they could squeeze us in and they definitely did right away. He couldn’t get through the cleaning without pain. He was crying due to the irritation of the gums and the assistant was so polite and understanding. She immediately put numbing gel on his gums to relieve the pain. Dr. Johnson was also so patient, she explained some things to heal his gums and keep them healthy. Since the visit my son has been so relived that his sensitivity has gone away. “Mom I can eat ice cream again”, he said. Thank you so much Lakewood kids dental team, it’s a sigh of relief when your kid is not in pain.

Dr Johnson was beyond amazing! Read great reviews before we scheduled our appt with our oldest. Was going to be a longer drive to get to her office but way worth the drive! Dr Johnson was great around our daughter and sat by her and explained everything before she did anything. She included her while she cleaned her teeth, and made our daughter super comfortable and felt safe! Explained everything in detail about what dental work needed to be done and gave us the best options available. Will be bringing the rest of our kids to her, and telling our family to bring their kids as well.

Update: I had some issues/inconveniences regarding my insurance and this office. However, they worked with me, explained everything, and we were able to resolve it. I spoke directly with the dentist and I appreciate her taking the time to make sure everything was taken care of and explain everything to me. My children enjoyed their experience here. The environment and staff made them feel relaxed.

Great Dentist! My 11 year had 4 teeth pulled and she was so nervous before the appointment. She got the medicine before the appointment started and she was so happy, not a care in the world. She had the greatest experience with a dentist and wants to go back. Thank you so much for caring about her and making this an easy experience for her. The dentist even helped me get her to the car and buckled her seatbelt. She went above and beyond. Please take your kids to see her, they will want to go back!

Davette Johnson-Harris, DDS has just been the most awesome, caring and professional dentist I hoped for. She answered the call when she was out with her own child when we had an emergency. She gave us a very clear and precise treatment plan for our child, but was open to and worked with our request. She also has a great side manner and made my child feel safe during the procedure which included extractions and crowns. I am very pleased and happy we found her. The office staff was also great and very helpful.

Our first time at a dentist in our new town, and it was a wonderful experience. The waiting room is super cute, and very welcoming for kids. We were seen right away and did not even have to wait for our appointment. My oldest (5) has had several visits to the dentist, so she already felt comfortable, but the staff were so wonderful and welcoming to her, and she was so excited when the Dr. took her back to see her very own x-rays! My youngest (2) had a hard time, and did not want to cooperate, but the staff worked so well with him to help him stay calm, and were so accommodating, letting him watch anything he wanted on the TV. The balloons, stickers, and dental kits were the highlight of the visit. The kids are already asking when they can go back!

My son did so amazing at his new dentist! The doctor is truly awesome with kids and explains everything from treatment to medications thoroughly enough for me to understand. Best kids dentist I’ve ever been to by far. I highly recommend doctor Davette Johnson Harris!!

My granddaughter is terrified of dentist. She cries hysterically. Her fear has caused her to be transferred to two different dentist. I called Dr. Johnson-Harris and explained my situation. She set up an appt for xrays and evaluation. It was rocky at first but the doctor made my baby feel safe and comfortable. I commend Dr. Johnson-Harris for her patience, professionalism and ability to deal with our young children. My granddaughter not only had her teeth cleaned and capped but also had some broken teeth removed. In her own words.."she didn't even hurt..the medicine made me float, it was fun! We are new to the area and had to find a new pediatric dentist for my 7 yr old. The doctor was very sweet and informative during mu daughters exam. We went for a 2nd appoitnment for a crown procedure, and the doctor and the dental assistant were both very delicate and patient with my daughter. We had a great experience overall. The only downfall I would say is the front desk person; she seems very professional, but unless shes overwhelmed, i just felt like she wasnt very attentive to us when it came to the scheduling and details of my expense. I did not mind it until we were in the waiting room and my daughter was very loopy from the sedative. I asked the front desk if my daughter could be laid down or put in a room, since she was under the sedative and kept falling/sliding in the waiting chair. She told me she couldnt but when the doctor came out to see us, she saw my daughter and brought us a wheelchair for her to sit in safer. I realized then the front desk couldve at least offered that since she saw how my daughter was flopping around. Other than that, we will continue to see Dr Harris.

The blonde woman shouldn’t be working in a children’s dental office if she’s going to act so annoyed by kids! The staff has flipped so much since our first visit that this will be our last. They should have kept the previous staff, they were way better with kids and kind. The new staff acts like they’re too bothered by the children. The doctor is sweet but she needs to take a good look at who she has working in her office.

I have been bringing my two sons to Dr. Johnson-Harris since the boys were 6 months of age. They are now 7 and 3 years old. Dr. JH answers all my questions with great depth, which puts me at ease as a parent. It is always a pleasant experience for all of us.

My girls are new to this office, and well one is an infant but enjoyed watching her sister play. While my toddler loved it! They are very professional, and great service. All the staff interacted with my babies, making them feel welcomed, and comfy. My toddler is very shy when it comes to meeting new people but she was having a conversation with Dr. Johnson-Harris to the best of her ability. Seeing my baby enjoy her time at the dentist really made me happy. I would recommend this office.

I am new to this dentistry and I really like the environment. Kid friendly and not overwhelming for kids or the parents. I don’t like dentist office where you can hear kids screaming and crying , because it scares the ones in the waiting room.. and Dr Johnson is very friendly and respectful too! ?

Dr. Johnson-Harris and the staff at Lakewood Kids Dentistry care and attentiveness is beyond awesome. My daughter (7yr. old)cracked her front tooth completely in half (smh!) and was nervous about going to the dentist. She kept saying it would hurt too much to get it fixed. However, once arriving at the office they were able to make my daughter feel extremely comfortable and put her fears at ease. Doctor Johnson is great with kids!! The bonus is that it didn't take her long to complete the procedure and my daughters tooth looked like it was never cracked!!! We were in and out the office within the hour. I'll definitely recommend Dr. Johnson and the staff Lakewood Kids Dentistry and look forward to visiting again in the future.

My son is on the spectrum and has meltdowns when he has medical exams. I was assuming that he would have to be sedated to have anything done at the dentist. But I took him in, and Dr Johnson was amazing. I feel very comfortable with her, and confident now that my son will not have barriers to receiving dental care.
